DIS-functional Wonder Peeps Part III revisited

Hey all doing a drive by. Home tonight gone again tomorrow. House hunting is not going all that well. Funny, they say it is a buyers market but these buyers aren't feeling too empowered.

OH!! And we were in one house....AMAZING how ABSOLUTELY THRASHED a house can get in a mere 18 months. This relatively new home looked like an entire army brigade lived there.:scared1: (it's a brigade in the army right? or is it a platoon??)hhhmmm....but I digress.

HOLY CR@P!!

I don't wanna go back tomorrow. I don't wanna move. I like my house. Me wanna stay here. wwwwwaaaaahhhhh......

Oh Gert - sorry to hear your search is going so badly...I know if it were me I'd probably have to look at 25 or 30 houses before I made a decision! Esp. if they weren't brand new (never been lived in). It's hard to picture your stuff instead of the other peoples stuff...and sometimes I am sure there are funny smells that turn you off. My nose would probably be in a permanent crinkle! Here's some pixie dust for ya!pixiedust: Don't buy something just to buy! Hang in there!

(Oh, and a troop is a soldier...I think a platoon is their unit that they belong to. A brigade sounds pretty big...I think that is a bunch of platoons combined together (and headed up & commanded by a brigadier general).

Well, we're warmer this morning (low 30's instead of low 20's). So still cold, but definitely better than yesterday!

Oh Johnna, (((HUGS)))! That must be hard when you HAVE to move.

We were lucky with our house. We had looked a bit but stopped when I lost my job. 2 months later, I just happened to stumble on the house that had everything we talked about...new, split level, near my parents, cul de sac, near the train (at the time DH was working in Boston)...etc. We never thought it would work out because it was so perfect, but it did. We sold our old one in like 9 days I think. It seemed much longer though. ;)
You will get through this!

Yay, Bob is almost home!!!:cool1:

he can commute!! Haha

My neighbor lived in Fresno and drove the the Guardian plant in Kingsburg everyday..Stymie could do it~~

Where is everyone today? Come out, come out wherever you are!! We're slippin'!!:goodvibes

Mornin' peeps!

Well, darn it. I have to schlep myself back to Costco today.:headache: When my neighbor and I got home the other day the bus was just dropping off our kids...my DS was supposed to stay late for his TV Video Production Club but it got cancelled so he was right there when we got home...since they don't bag anything at Costco I couldn't just slip my stuff that I got DS for Xmas inside w/o him seeing...so my neighbor took the stuff into her house... I got it back from her yesterday - but then discovered I had something missing!!:scared1: I was in a hurry when we left and I forgot to stop at the Customer Service Desk with my receipt to pick up a game!! So I called them and they only have 3 of them...so they're holding mine for me...but they want me to come get it ASAP. So there goes my $5 savings! We don't go to the Costco that's closest to us 'cuz it's really schlocky (sp?). It is always PACKED and the clients are ummm...well, ummm...disgusting. It's got a real mixed bag of people. And the parking is awful. So, we drive about 16 or 17 miles north to Frederick and go to the one up there. It's SO-O much nicer. But darn it.:headache:

Well, my neighbor called the realtor who we're renting our ski house from...told them we were unhappy about this alternative only having 5 master bedrooms with private baths VS 6 of them and asked if they could do anything else with the price...they took another $100 off!! So she offered it out to the first bidder willing to go without a private bath (this room shares a bath with one of the family rooms not another bedroom). So we snagged it. $100 is a lot right now (with the bal. due Dec. 1). (If nobody volunteered for it then she was just going to split the $100 among everyone and we'd have drawn numbers to pick rooms.) So anyway, WHOOHOO!:woohoo:

I just heard on the news that Pres. Bush just signed something to extend Unemployment another 3 months...I don't know if that means I can file for this extension too or not. I sure HOPE so. I don't know how I can find out yet tho since it JUST happened this morning. Cross your fingers ya'll - otherwise I run out on Nov. 30 and we'll be having to start tapping into our savings!:scared: So far, we have managed to survive w/o doing that. I have cut back enough and have been frugal enough that we can "make it", although there is nothing extra to pay on anything. But I clear like $1,200 / month on it so that's my car pymt. and groceries ya know.

Happy Birthday Sue Ellen!! :bday: Where are you? Are you lurking somewhere?! What are you doing for your birthday?!

:headache: Went to Costco again...:rolleyes1 That store is just plain TROUBLE!

Came home & turned Rosie on for her Friday cleaning....she ran for about 15 min. & stopped & beeped at me. I fiddled with her for a few min. & she started running again but only went like 2' and stopped & she started spinning in place in circles!:scared: So I just called I-Robot and they had me turn her over & futz with her wheels...they have determined that she needs a new wheel!! So they're sending me a new wheel assembly but it will take 2 weeks! I HAVE TO GET MY OLD VACUUM CLEANER OUT AND CLEAN THE OLD FASHIONED WAY!:scared1: :headache: Grrrr.... I always run her on Fri & Tues - so I figured that was perfect...she could before my parents come to stay on Wed... DARN!!:sad2: My girl is sick!

DS just came in from school with a note...they're changing the order of the stops on his bus route...we have to be ready at 7:15 starting Monday rather than 7:30.:headache: :sad2: I am going to have to start getting up 15 min. earlier...and Mr. Piddler is NOT going to be easy to get ready!

(ok, I'm just jealous - no duh, huh?)

Get, hope something wonderful comes along ASAP. If you gotta move, you deserve a great new home.

um.... i haven't been getting any text messages this week:rolleyes1

oh, we got some good news, Babs can get her cast off in 10 days (Dec. 1st) if the xray comes back clean. Meanwhile, moody Dougie is still claiming his ankle doesnm't hurt but won't stop wearing the brace. Why do teenagers have to be so stubborn?

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I haven't checked in on the thread in a while, and hope everyone has been well. I have been trying to catch up with you all as much as possible. We sure do miss everyone.

We are cruising again in January. Couldn't pass up a trip to St. Croix.
Wish you all were going to be with us.
Sue Ellen

I have the news on and had to come to tell you all this. The windchill in Boston right now...8! Yes, thats just 8, no other digits in that number. And on the 5 day forecast Monday is showing 48 as the high. They actually have "mild" written under that 48. :lmao:

So, anything exciting going on this weekend?

So funny you posted this...I was just about to say that our wind chill right now is 18!!:rotfl2: You win!! Our AVERAGE temp is supposed to be like 53/54 for a high and 38 for our average lows! Our predicted high today is 38/39 + windy so not too warm at all. We too are supposed to reach mid-40's for a few days next week - but that's still below average!

YAY for Babs! Glad it won't take too much longer! Got no answers for ya about Dougie....that there would be a mystery!
