DIS-functional Wonder Peeps Part III revisited

Nice picture, RJ! :thumbsup2 Thanks for sharing.

Anyone have anything fun going on this weekend? Nothing much here. Im back to my regular boring life.

LOL! As you all know, its never soon enough. Although I have to say the weeks are really flying by lately and with Thanksgiving coming up that week will go extra fast. But it just seems like 4 weeks is so l o n g right now.

CamColt - busy is a GOOD THING in this economy tho!! Right??

I missed this yesterday. Not necessarily, if people arent booking its just more work keeping me from important things. :headache: I'm really burning out this week if you couldnt tell.

Annie - I, personally, wouldn't drop $1500 for a hastly planned wedding. They have to know that it is the busiest travel time of the year, flights are thru the roof price wise, and people have families with busy schedules. Very few people could just arrange to go (and pay) with that short notice. I understand BIL's thinking but I don't think you should stress over going. That's just my 2 cents though.

OK, family update: Bab's arm is broken (non-displaced somethingcondial humerus fracture) and she was casted yesterday. She is having a very hard time getting used to having limited mobility. Being severely claustrophobic myslef I can understand the slight panic feeling of not being able to move a part of the body. So it will week until next Thursday's x-rays.

As for Dougie, after two sets of x-rays the pediatrician doesn't know if there is a hairline fracture at the growth plate on his lower tibia. Dougie is not in favor of having a cast so the doc decided to see how he does over the weekend. Last night he came home after the school play limping something badly. :headache: so, now he has a perfect escuse to sit in front of the computer (watching u-tube) all weekend.

so, that's it from SD. Nothing planned for the weekend except Madagasgar2.

One more thing.... dun da da da!!!!!!! I wrapped 2 Christmas presents this afternoon. Hey, the RockBand box was too huge to hide. Only about 10 more people to buy for - c'mon lottery numbers! do I have to buy a ticket to win?

that is it..Kate is on a plane tomorrow..she will nurse the children back to health!!

You come here..that is a fair exchange!

So sorry to hear about Babs & Dougie - I hope their recovery doesn't take TOO long!! Give 'em a hug for me!

I guess I really just wanted some reinforcement & backup that I am not just being a nasty SIL or unreasonable about this wedding!:goodvibes

Where's Gert? She's been MIA for a few days now! And SueEllen - she's dropped off the edge of the earth lately too.:confused3

Weather forecast is for more rain & 60's tomorrow then cooling off on Sun for next week - 40's for highs!:scared1:

Just talked to a good friend from my old job (2 jobs ago). I don't know what to think - I missed it but DH caught a segment on the Today Show yesterday am that said Citigroup is negotiating to buy Chevy Chase Bank - which is an affiliate of my old company.:scared: (Mr. Saul started the bank but he also owned the B.F. Saul Co., which is where I worked...they're all intermixed & in the same HQ offices...) Citigroup is not doing so well ya know. This concerns me for a couple of reasons - 1 being that some of my friends could get laid off and also because I left my profit sharing money there 'cuz I didn't have an opportunity to start a 401K after I left there - I was working PT w/o any benefits for 3 yrs. ANYWAY, a pretty good chunk of my money (or whatever is LEFT of it) is invested by the plan in the Bank (Mr. Saul liked to support himself and since both were privately held there was nothing stopping him!!:lmao: ) But that's how he made the Forbes Richest 500 list every year I guess! So I don't know. This particular friend that I was talking to used to work directly for Mr. Saul - she now works for one of his VP's so she "hears things". She's pretty certain she will be out of a job by March.:headache: Darn it! When will it all end?!

No beeg plans for the weekend here. McDonalds has fish fillet sandwiches for 99 cents or the fish fillet meal for $3.99 - sounds like a hot time out for a Saturday nite 'eh?:rotfl:

Kate and I are going to Sawgrass tomorrow to meet up with some other Disney Fairy Tale Brides..There are several that live in the South Florida area and one is coming down for a wedding this weekend. I am excited..we are a close knit bunch and love talking about our weddings and giving advice and support to each other

Annie - I think an unexpected trip right before christmas when you are out of work is decline-able (is that a word??) I wouldn't feel bad at all!

Gert chiming in from the edge of the earth - send a gift and a nice card. Its a rush wedding at a bad time of year in a bad economy. They are really thinking of anyone else at this point anyhows.

Phyllis!! What is going on down there!? Please to not be breaking something of yours too.:worship:

This weekend...DD8 has a soccer team sleep over. No, not here. Coach is not crazy! Um...nothing else. This is my only weekend this month when I will be home so not doing much of anything. Organizing, going through closets, throwing things out. Some of this to be done while DD is at said sleepover. wink, wink, nudge, nudge

DH gets to work on the landscaping. Needs to be winterized and made less jungle like.

Hey RJ!! going to be in Fresburg Sun night through Wed morn and then back Thursday through Sat morn. Perhaps we can get together for lunch or even dinner!!?? :woohoo: :confused3

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know that Linda is home from the hospital, and resting as comfortable as see can. All the tests they did came back negative, but she still has a lot of pain. The nurse practioner to the doctor came to see her to tell her all tests were negative and that she is a mystery, nice thing to tell a patient. Linda wanted me to pass along her Thanks for all the Pixie Dust and your prayers they were greatly appreciated...

Sean - glad to hear Linda's home...hope she perks up soon!

They just said on the news that Target reported lower sales in Oct...guess my self imposed ban on going 3x a week has finally caught up with them!:rotfl2:

Nite ya'll

I just made up for you Annie. We went to the kids fall fair at school then off to Target. WHY can you never get out of there without spending at least $100.00?

That's SO funny! We call Target "the hundred dollar store"! :lmao:

Well, I know I can't get out of there for probably less than $150 at a pop - I buy ALL of my laundry & cleaning supplies & paper products there...30 Lbs of cat litter on a reg. basis....vitamins....toiletries....and recently I started buying as many of my groceries there as I can. Mayo...tuna...oatmeal...cereal...cream cheese...lean cuisines...lunchmeats & cheese...all that stuff is all signficantly cheaper there than at the grocery store! I really only use my grocery store now for produce and meats and a few frozen items I can't get at Target. (My Target is just a regular store, not a Super Target or anything so my shopping there is limited.)

At some point several months ago my grocery store (Giant) stopped printing / publishing their weekly ads in the Sunday Washington Post. I don't know what they do with them other than putting them in a stand at the front of the store. But it drives me NUTS 'cuz I get ads from Safeway and Shoppers Food Warehouse but not the store where I shop most. It is a very inefficient way to shop to have to wait until you get to the store to see the ads. So I started assuming I could do better elsewhere. But Target is a real vice.

So, speaking of shopping...wonder what Betsy & Kate are doing right now at this beeg Sawgrassy place they go to?!

Ah, I know the $100 Store all too well. After buying RockBank Wii, another Wii game, 3 Christmas presents, and a bunch of other stuff I'm sure I don't need (but NEEDED at the time - all NECESSARY I tell ya' !) The total was waaaay over $100 - so, I too am on a self-imposed buying ban. Property tax is due on 12/10 :scared1:

What? I don't even get applause -or a groan- for starting Christmas wrapping:lmao:

ok, off to the movies.

 Yay Phyllis!! :cheer2: That is the one good thing about all but cancelling Xmas here...NO WRAPPING and NO CROWDS at the mall!:rotfl2: I am trying to decide what to do about sending cards this year. I have always, always, ALWAYS done cards...and a good many of them (80-100)...always photo greeting cards...but I am torn about spending the moolah on them this year...esp. by the time you add postage...it's like $100 bucks.:scared: I am truely on the fence about it. (insert smiley guy sitting on the fence):upsidedow

yes..we have already decided to cut down on christmas this year...lean christmas!!

we had fun today!! Cheesecake Factory..it was a blast

Jo, Vanessa, Laura, Amanda and me..Amanda and I have already had our weddings..Jo is next month and Laura and Vanessa are next December

Nice picture, Betsy. Looks like a good time was had by all. How can you not at the CCF? ;)

I was just thinking of you at dinner. We went to Carrabbas and I got an Italian Wedding Cake Martini. Isn't that one of your drinks? It was yummy...not my favorite drink ever, but yummy nonetheless. :thumbsup2

Oh and Cheri....groan! ;)
