Stymie is doing a site visit with Gallo manana. Gonna tour the project plant winery in Livingston and then go down and meet the onsite engineering team in Fresno. Keep your fingers crossed.
Gert is not too sure if she wants to move. But I will be really close to RJ!I guess we should know something by the end of the week.
Annie - heard from friends from Seabrook. They went to family in Baton Rouge and rode out Ike there. Their community has a website?? Cool that someone put that together. They are posting pictures of damage, homes, etc. Rumor has it at this point their house is still standing and not too damaged but she had not seen pictures yet. We are keeping our fingers crossed from them.
Gert - this "thing" with Gallo has been going on for awhile, no? He must be liking the idea...but I am with you on not wanting to move so much. I mean, yeah, it would be nice to live near RJ...but just the whole moving thing in general....selling house

My next door neighbors OLD next door neighbors had moved to Destin, FL a few years back and their home was destroyed in Ivan...the pictures they emailed were awful. The family evacuated but the husband was a dr. and stayed behind to work at the hospital...he found their bed on a nearby golf course...with the throw pillows still sitting on it....but it had floated like 1/2 mi. away or something. The walls on the house were still standing 'cuz it was brick but there was nothing left inside. I don't think I am cut out to ever live in a coastal environment! Now if we can just get thru the rest of the season and keep our FL peeps safe!
I overslept by 1 hr. this morning! Something is messed up with my snooze on my alarm.
DS got up when his alarm went off and came downstairs and started watching TV in his jammies!! I could not believe he was UP already when I got up...I was like "Ummmm...were you just gonna SIT here until the BUS came & went?!" I was like if you EVER get up with your alarm and I am NOT up already you need to knock on my door and WAKE me!!
DOH!!!OK, now I am behind for the day and I need to go take a shower etc...
I finally got to the grocery store to finish up but the whole day felt like a waste. They recently totally remodeled my grocery store so I can't find anything & it takes a long time. They also started this cool new feature this month that I LIKE a lot but I am still getting the hang of...they now have self scanner thingys as you go in now. So you scan your store "bonus card" and you get one of these price scanners. You scan everything as you go and bag it yourself - THAT's the part I like 'cuz they only have like 2 checkers that know how to bag right. I take my own re-usable bags anyway so I like doing my own bagging. I am getting faster with the self scanner thing - but the produce dept. is slow. You have to weigh everything and print a sticker. Anyway....that pretty much was my day. Now DS is home & doing homework & that's another battle all it's own!
Glad I filled up again today!
