DIS-Functional Wonder Peeps 7/20 & 7/24, 2008 PART II

Only 5 weeks?! WOW! I will definitely start packing in at least 3 weeks! Found out that DS will have a swim meet on that Wed. night before we leave (means a much later evening than I would like). They say the meets usually last from about 6:00 - 9:30/10:00 (warm ups start around 5:00). We have his first meet this Wed. so I will find out for sure. But THAT is NOT how I will want to spend that evening. They swim the Butterfly last...for that last meet he may have to only sign up for his Freestyle and Backstroke so we can leave a little earlier. But I guess I will have to be READY by Tues. evening. Our flight is at 7:50 AM on Thurs. That means we'll have to leave home by around 5:00-5:15. But we'll be in FL by around 10:00!!

So that cold front that came thru yesterday brought lower humidity so I FINALLY went out front & washed my truck. Boy was it dirty. It hadn't had a hand job since I waxed it last fall. You can see yourself in my little chrome sidesteps now! Then I swept out the garage before I pulled back in. Another filthy mess. Well, it still is but I got the worst of it.

So I know it's Father's Day & all but DH is plopped downstairs doing nothing...he hasn't mowed the yard in 2 WEEKS!! He hasn't fertilized since like March (and I bought the stuff like a month ago)...he hasn't done the Grub-Ex (have a bag of that out in the garage too). Nothing. I am getting really frustrated.

We are having the annual pool party at Mom's. A small gathering of 20. Just the usual cast of characters is 15 with my grandparents/parents/aunt&uncle/cousins/sister's family/brother/kids. I tell all "prospectives" (read: cousins' boyfriends) that we run as a pack. Ask for one and you get us all. Mom's making Root Beer Floats for dessert. I was assigned.... a salad. Does my momma know me or what?

So DH finally mowed the yard and fertilized...while my next door neighbor and I laid out on the patio with my misting fan for awhile. We ran thru the sprinklers too when he turned it on for the fertilizer. Nice way to celebrate Father's Day 'eh?! Now I am going to go back out & weed the other end of the patio (did the other end few weeks ago). Darned pavers. ACTUALLY, darned Vetch - weed killer won't kill it.

Will make his Rib Eyes for dinner later....I think it will be a nice evening to eat outside for a change.
