Beano is not feeling quite right. He tends to forget that he only owns ONE of them boats. OK< he can have both of the old ones. THE NEW ONES ARE MINE. Mine I tell you. MINE MINE MINE!



(and if I read it right, DCL has committed to keeping 2 of the 4 ships in Canaveral for those years. I have a feeling that they have itineraries planned that will take at least one of the new ships away from there for the summers. Hey, DCL has to pay for those expensive boats of mine! And I don't know that the contract reads that they have to keep the new ships there for the whole time - just 2 of the 4...)

The majority of people on the other thread about this think the new ships will basically take over the Wonder and Magic routes out of Canaveral. But, man, really?? 4000 people want to take a 3/4 day cruises?? Even tied in with a land/sea?? Just seems like a lot of people to me.

And as much as I will want to sail on the new beeg Cheri ships...um...I might be inclined to stay with the smaller crowds on the Magic/Wonder. So maybe they figure smaller crowds want to pay more $$ to do itineraries longer than 3/4?? hhmmm.....

Guess it depends on that itinerary. Come on something good. And no, I do not mean Mexico.

I gotta believe that combo Land/Sea trips are huge sellers to international travelers. Many of the people I work with from South America have done them. Either 7 days at WDW then a 7 night cruise or a longer stay at WDW followed by a 4 or 3 day cruise. Canaveral just works so well with WDW in close proximity. I thnk that the new ships will probably be stationed in Canaveral with the Magic and Wonder out and about.

The two new ships have contracted to stay through 2013 (so one will be there at least 2 years and the other at least 1 year) but no announcement what they will do yet. In fact the stock answer is 'we have not yet ready to share any announcements about future itineraries.'

From DCL:
There will be 1,250 staterooms on each of the new 125,000-ton cruise liners. This is significantly larger than the 83,000-ton existing ships and will include two additional decks, expanded passenger capacity, extended Guest areas and entertainment venues.

There will also be a new parking garage built for DCL as well at the port.
Can't wait to see the new ships.

My internet went out yest. afternoon & was out for HOURS.
Seems it doesn't like wind or rain.

Spring break starts here tomorrow for DS. I want it to warm up & be nice next week so I can go downtown to see the cherry blossoms...I want 60's PUH-LEASE! Got wind chills today in the 30's...I'm tired of that crap! I'm ready to switch from wind chills to heat index!

I am really hoping one of the new ships will do something exotic (a summer in the med maybe? I would love that one.) I really want to go on one of them in 2012...but of course now my cruise fund envelope has been put on hold until I get back to work. I would love to go thru the Panama Canal but those repos always interfere with school so that won't be happening until DS graduates in 2015 for us!

Thanks for the wish of some warmth. The weatherman said the Easter Bunny will be wearing wool this Sunday! Brrrrr! Speaking of Easter - I bought a couple bags of candy for DS's basket & I FORGOT TO BUY THE PEEPS! He loves the peeps so now I have to make a stop for them. He never eats his chocolate bunnies but the peeps...oh loves that sugar! Once we were out somewhere in a restaurant & I look over & he's literally dumping a packet of sugar straight into his mouth! I said WHAT are you doing?! And his answer was "MMMM tastes like peeps!"

Hello Peeps!

I wanna go on the new beeg ship in Christmas 2010 - SueEllen can you make that so? Oh and make the itinerary not sail out on Christmas Day 'cuz that will ruin everything. I need to be on the ship for the 24th and 25th or it just does not work for me.

Annie - extra sunshine from me. I remember that feeling back there of "when we will ever seen the sunshine again" I hated it. But sure makes you happy to see springtime and crocus and azaleas and forsythia

I reckon DCL has done the research for the warranting of the new ships. Just leaves us plenty of time to speculate.

Maybe a really great repo in 2010!! Or a 10 day Christmas cruise. I will take either one of those. Please.

Sun is back out but OH THE WIND! Brrrr. Went out for lunch to hook up with a couple of buds from my OLD job a couple jobs ago (Cheeburger Cheeburger)! I really haven't BEEN OUT ANYWHERE except to the grocery store for the past 3 weeks - I went just like 10 mi. south and I noticed there were some varieties of cherry trees starting to bloom and some of the yellow on the forsythia starting to peek out! So good to see some COLOR! That's what I miss all winter is the color! I also saw a hillside of daffodils in bloom! CamColt - spring is coming! Azaleas in DC will start to bloom mid-late April in the city and in May out here in the 'burbs!

Him and Cam will get along great. I can so see him doing something like that.

Chilly and windy here too...high 30s low 40s...too cold for spring! Everything is brown...at least its not all covered in white anymore. Hope it does warm up for vacation, Annie. We still have 4 more weeks until our break...will probably still be cold.

I have to say, I'm not getting too excited about the new ships yet. Im just thinking the price is going to be outrageous. I would love a Hawaii cruise, but dont want to pay more than I paid for my car.

yeah, I saw that. but you know I had to freak out first. Just wouldn't be me if'n I didn't. Now what could you possibly ship in a 12x12 box??? Hardly worth it seems like. Good thing they aren't limiting the number of carry ons. Gonna start having Cas pump some weights.
