Need to think about doing "stuff" for this cruise...wrote down some ideas....but now what to DO with them!?

Just sit and think about them.

And start a pile of stuff in your closet.(right Betsy!) I have mine started!!

I have seen those pop up sun shade tents for baby. But definitely could not bring to Serenity Bay. Defeats the point of Adults only Beach right!?

Gotta go buy my winning lotto ticket. Ah the things I could do if I had a couple hundred million dollars!.....

* check check. only mine cruise stuff is just in a bag in the closet. I don't even begin to think about clothes until the week before (when I realize that one of the kids is lacking shorts or a bathing suit that fits)

Hey, California Peeps...I THOUGHT IT DIDNT RAIN HERE???? This is getting silly! I think Ive worn sunglasses for a total 10 minutes in 3 days now. And its not looking to get any better. BUT we are having a great time, and its better than the cold and snow at home. Things are going well and we are getting a lot done. Tomorrow we are spending the morning in DL then heading to Hollywood for a while. Hope all is well with you all and Ill hopefully pop in again soon. Gotta run to CA Adventure for Disneys Electrical Parade now.

Still waiting for confirmation on the Pinewood Derby...county had cancelled activities thru this morning...but it's supposed to warm up enough to thaw tho so hopefully we're still on! The winter weather advisory has expired now I think.

Hey ya'll...got a question for you about these door sign things! Do you print them on regular paper then laminate them and then attach magnets to the back or do you buy some sort of special paper that you print them on? What's the best approach here?!?!? Thinkin' about my cruise to do list & just wondered.........

There are a couple of ways:
1) there is special magnetic paper you can print on. It jams in some printers but most are fine. I had a problem with them sticking to the doors (good thing I had also brought along a role of magnetic tape) Most people report that it holds fine

2) Print on photo paper and put magnetic tape on the back

3) Print on regular paper, laminate and then add the magnets.

Whatever you decide to do, put some sort of personalization on it. I guess it is less likely to grow legs and walk away. I plan to put at least our room number on ours.

When we did for our cruise in 05, we actually found magnetic paper at walmart, its sheets of paper on a magnet, it worked really well.

Do you by chance remember what brand you used? I've read that the stuff from WalMart works great. I bought mine at Office Depot. I'd rather not spend the $ again there if there is another brand that works better.

Well, so we were not the big winners of the pinewood derby today. I was sort of afraid his winning streak had come to an end. They just didn't seem to put as much time into sanding the wheels or something this year, I don't know. Anyway, DS came in 2nd in his Den which was good but only about 9th in the Pack (the top 5 go to District). I think they said there were 43 cars running...those elimination rounds are killers!

I have been fiddling around with "cruise ideas" all evening. Just playing around. I don't have good software to use tho - and DH is like "and you're not going to go out & buy any either"! I have many ideas...but so far none have turned into anything I am 100% happy with yet.

Hello!

I wanted to chime in with the excitement that we will be on this cruise! It will be a large family gathering! My DH, MIL, FIL, 2 SIL, 2 BIL, my DH's grandmother and aunt! Wow!!!
After this cruise we will be driving over to DVC's Vero Beach for 3 nights.....THEN just my DH and I will be flying out to LAX for the 7 night Mexican Riviera cruise sailing 7/27.......whew I'm exhausted just typing that!!!!

WOW! A new peep! Welcome aboard! I'm with Cheri - very, very cool that you are doing back-to-back cruises too - well, sorta. Just different ships! See you also did the Med cruise - how was that? Would you do it again if they went back? I scanned thru some of your trip report - not enough time right now to read all of it...but enjoyed what I read!


I see the smiley guys have moved around again...what's up with that? Pixie Dust is now on the front page...and the beach! That one's cool. But what is THIS? Where did this come from? OK, so we were on page 2 again guys!

Alright, so I found that calling DH to come in from the other room about every 10-15 min. was enough to get him to agree that this free software he wanted me to use is a total pain!! He even asked me how old this computer I use is (8 years next month) and hinted that it might be time for a new one!! Where IS the WhooHoo smiley? They moved him AND the banana guy too!? OH - and the angry smiley too!? Man... Grrrrrrrrrrr!

OK, so I gots permission so I went shopping for software and supplies! WhooHoo! Started with Best Buy - priced PhotoShop Elements, looked for the magnet paper (they didn't have it) and then moved on to WalMart (only 'cuz it's next door). I looked for the magnet paper there in the photo dept. AND in the office supplies & computer paper area...no luck! NOTHING even close! OK, so then I went over to Staples. Found the magnet paper. OMG. 4 sheets for $13.29!! (insert that EEK smiley guy here - I ain't goin' to look for him!) Not going to happen - too expensive to screw up (and I know I WILL screw up)!! Laminating is $1.29 / sheet there. Hummm....I'm thinkin' that works for me!! Found the PhotoShop software - $10 cheaper than over at Best Buy - SOLD!

OK, so now I can PLAY with my ideas!! Well, first start more and get dinner going (vat of homemade veggie beef soup) THEN install software and play!

Oh, also booked the dolphin swim thing this weekend thru that dolphinencounters.com place for 10:30 am on the 1st Nassau day. They only allow 10 per slot for the swim so we just went ahead & did it 'cuz we wanted to be sure to get in that first slot. They said they book months ahead & we figured our luck if we piddled around about it the openings would be gone. We will probably do the Atlantis Aquaventure thing on the 2nd stop...it looks WAY COOL on the website...DS will love it!

Bets- how did Kate's physical go? Did she get any shots? I have to take Cas in. Kinda missed the 9 year (and maybe the 8 year) physical. It's not like she never goes to the doc though. They check her every time she's sick but never say anything about needed immunizations.

I don't know what I was thinking. For some reason I thought I could buy this crazy Photoshop stuff and sit down and VOILA understand what to do. Like thru osmosis. I thought it was more intuitive. Why don't they give you instruction books any more? I don't want to print out all of these Help instructions! This is absolutely the same crap as the free stuff. Who can tell me the best way to get started that will leave some hairs on my head not pulled out!!??

(Did I ever mention that I used to write help text at my OLD job? Pretty boring stuff....)
