Dis Doctors: "Goosebumpy" rash

I woke up at 3am covered in a fine goosebumpy rash all over. Yesterday morning I had a patch of it on my chest and blew it off. Now it's everywhere. I took Benedryl immediately and it looks a bit better. What do you think, allergic reaction? Environmental or food? What to do?

sounds like an allergic reaction. keep taking the benadryl and try to figure out what caused it. I am a pharmacist btw. as long as you have no shortness of breath just use the benadryl. good luck

I have been using a new lotion for the past week. That could be it!

Sounds like a basic allergic reaction. Taking Benadryl is what I always do. I get hives a LOT to various things and I just take a Zrytec everyday to keep them at bay.

Hopefully it's just the lotion and discontinuing it's use will solve the problem.
