DIS Divas, Take Two & Tyler....WooHoo!! COMPLETED!...OVER 1400 PICS!!

Hope the kids are enjoying their last week of summer. I go back tomorrow :scared1:

No big plans this week.....just gonna chill. I haven't bought them school clothes, shoes or supplies. Just don't have the money to do it right now. Kinda hard to believe they go back next week. I believe their first day is Weds.

I hope you have a fun day tomorrow Kaitlin!!

Man Laurie that stinks about Mike having to work and you not getting a break. Is Tyler able to help at all or is he working or at school also? I know he is a big help to you as well and right now you sure need it!!

Hopefully you can get a break soon!!

So I came home and called AT&T and the GOOD news is it is only going to cost me 19 bucks a month for internet which right now we are paying 52 and it was going to cost me 59 with comcast BUT the bad news is the modem I already had won't work. I need a new one and I had JUST bought that one. I had one that I had to buy orig back when we first got AT&T and then we were having problems so they told us we needed to buy a NEW modem so we did and then right after that they started capping their plans and that is when we switched. And now I have to buy yet ANOTHER one. BLEH!

But I think in the long run it is worth it. Plus when my directv contract runs out in Dec (or I should say SHANE's contract) I am switching to Dish. I can get more channels for way less money! I am paying 60 bucks for just network tv right now and I can get like 100 channels for 39 a month so I will do that then.

Anyway so I am trying to cut back as much as possible wherever I can. And he told me today he "thinks" he will be back to work hopefully sometime this week so we shall see.

He didn't get a whole lot of stuff though when he came over. He was going to set up my internet but then they couldnt' do it so he just grabbed a few things and then left. He is still on the hunt for a fridge so oh well. I will be glad when it is ALL gone and I don't have to deal with him just popping over anymore!!!

Anyway that's bout it for me. Shelby has piano today but I said since he is off he can take her! I have to do it EVERY week and he can do it for a change. He talks about wanting to see the girls so much he can do that!

Oh and Shelby got her star test results back and she did REALLY well. Advanced in English and just a few points below advanced in math. SOOOO proud of her!!!

Don't know why I didn't get Katy's but hopefully tomorrow!! :)

Mike's been home the last 3 days, so that's why my arm was feeling better......I just wasn't thinking yesterday when it came to the laundry. I didn't feel like bugging Mike about helping as he shampooed our downstairs carpets yesterday......boy oh boy did they need it!!

Part of being a manager is being ready to step up when needed. He went in to find out he has his work cut out for him. The 2nd, was the interim mgr & keeps reverting back to her set ways.....so he has to get his crew on board for the changes. Sales have already increased since Mike took over....so what he has implemented seems to be working....can't fall back on the ways that didn't work. So probably good he went in...that way the week starts off on the right foot. He'll take Saturday off in exchange for coming in today.

Internet, cable, satelite....ugh....those are never fun getting straightened around....hopefully things will settle soon!!

Yay for Shelby!! Not sure what star testing is....but yay anyways!!

Thank you. It's hard to believe that I will be a sophomore :scared1:

LOL Laurie Star testing is the state standarized testing. It starts in 2nd grade and goes through 12th grade. Each grade has to do it for reading and math and then like last year Katy also had to be tested in social studies and science.

Then I think in High School in like 10th grade they get tested in History. But it is to see how the kids are doing against the other kids in the state and then I think they also use it to compare to the other states.

But anyway she just got basic last year but this year she got advanced and high proficient so that is REALLY good! Katy has gotten advanced almost every year and that is why she qualified for the honors this year.

Anyway Shane picked the girls up from school and then took Shelby to piano and then since he STILL doesn't have a fridge I let him have dinner with us and then he went home.

I figure for now I need to keep things civil when it comes to the girls and I told him he could see them almost every day as long as they can stay here every night and basically live with me and just "visit" him so hopefully things stay cordial.

I know eventually though I am not going to want him over here so much so I hope it doesn't get ugly. And hopefully once he gets a fridge and stuff he will do his own thing!

Plus I KNOW him and I guarantee he will have a girlfriend within a month or so and then that will kill him wanting to come over all the time and somehow I think he won't be wanting the girls over that much either. Fine with me though cuz I don't want them around whatever bimbo he ends up with! I know what all his girlfriends were like before me and have seen some of the girls he is friends with on FB! (rolls eyes)

So again we shall see what the future holds! I just hope it doesn't get ugly!

Oh, ok.....they do state testing here thru-out the school year, but it doesn't come with a fun sounding name!! :rotfl2:

I hope he finds a fridge & doesn't have to keep coming over to eat.....then you can move on.....cause like you pointed out....he'll be sure to move on now that he's out in his own place. Hopefully you'll be able to keep the girls from being exposed to the revolving door at his place.

Woke up sore again this morning.....I know my mattress isn't helping the situation. My back & ribcage feels like I was beat with a bat....so it will probably be a long day today. Mike goes in for his one late shift (off 7pm)....so that will just add to the longness of the day. Nothing planned....so get to be in "toad mode" today. Kinda getting tired of having no life...lol

Might pull out Disney planning DVD's to watch......need a pick me up.......I hate knowing we were soooooo close to our trip & now have months to wait again.

Good Morning!!

Scotty always works until seven so to see you call that a late shift I kind of had to giggle. I see where that would be late though. I hated it when the kids were little.

See I can call that the late shift now with his job title change. He normally works 7-3:30.....but has to do one "late" a week. He used to work almost all 10-7's with an occassional 11-8 or 12-9 thrown in. I like having him home early.....I'm already getting spoiled by that!!

So lets get back to trip planning!!!!

So pretty much we figured we push all of our October plans to February.......We will have to figure a new breakfast place since the Carnation Cafe will be closed during our trip....but I"m sure we'll come up with something.

We're hoping to stay at the Paradise Pier Hotel & now Derek has decided he wants to miss school to join us!!! So we will definitely need 2 rooms since there will be 8 of us. The best part of Tyler & Derek joining us, will be taking turns at the hotel with the twins. It will give all of us some "alone" time without kids, time for Mike & I to spend park time with Anthony & Addy & just be easier on the twins to keep them on schedule for naps & bedtime.

We're hoping with end of Feb/first part of March being off-season that we'll be able to get a great deal on the hotel.

I'm thinking the entertainment will be weekend only, so not sure how much my family will catch since their park days will be Monday thru Friday....I'll be able to catch it during the Girl's Trip portion of my trip. I know Tyler really wants to see World of Color again....he loved that show & that's on his MUST DO list. Hopefully that will be showing nightly & he can....otherwise he'll be looking at Friday night...yikes..super busy!!!

I wonder if college quarter testing will be during your vacation? But, not to worry most will let you take test early or after trip if you ask early enough. I bet his college has the 2011-2012 schedule up by now. To have extra help with the girls is sure a plus. I bet there will be some special rates at the Disney hotels this year with economy not being great. I have not stayed at the GC but I like PP over the DLH. The price is not much more then some of the hotels off property when you can get an AP or a great special price for rooms.

Back to house work talk to you later.

We looked at the schedule & that is 2 or 3 weeks before finals....so he said he'd be ok missing that time. He's a great student...so I feel it wouldn't affect him too much.

We love the PPH.....Mike & I stayed for 2 nights at the DLH before the remodel & loved it.....but I'm not 100% sold on the new darker decor....thats one of the reasons I'm not super thrilled by the GCH. I'm in the minority on that. But I enjoy staying somewhere light & bright & the PPH definitely fills that need for me.

Laurie I am sorry you are still not feeling well. :( Stinks too that today is Mike's late night so you won't get a break. Hopefully you can somehow find some time to get a bit of one somehow!

Shane is going to look at Fridge's today so I agree hopefully things will change soon. Although he will still be in and out of here most nights because we agreed that he could take the girls to their sports and such so he could see them almost every day and he is ALREADY saying that they want to stay at his place some which I think IF they even said that it is because it is something new and different. He doesn't even have beds for them and they will have to sleep on the hideabed. But I said I don't care about the weekends but I don't think it is a good idea on school nights cuz they need consistency plus all their stuff is here. So hopefully that doesn't become an issue.

Anyway we are going to be forced to see eachother whether we want to or not for the next few weeks cuz we have back to school nights for the next two weeks and then Katy has her first dance and on and on. So lots going on that we both want to be part of.

I have a call in to my lawyer about getting the separation legalized but he hasn't called me back and STILL no word on the job front.

Things will start to fall into place Kelly.....hang in there!!

So I started thinking about the Girl's Trip from March this year & remembered that Disneyland held "Family Fun Weekends" & was wondering if they'd be doing that again this year?? We were there during the Mardi Gras weekends & it was so much fun, seeing New Orlean's Square all decked out & getting to see the characters all brightly costumed.

Here are a couple pics from this years trip during the Mardi Gras fun!!!

These promotional weekends did seem to bring in the crowds, be well received & popular.....so I'll be interested in seeing if they bring them back for next year. They ran middle of January thru middle of March I believe....so I'm guessing if they did the same themes....we'd probably be back during the Mardi Gras time...which I loved!!!

Ladies (and gentlemen, if any are lurking out there) -

I am putting on my moderator hat for a minute and asking that all chat which is not related to the DLR trip in question either goes to the DL Community forum, private messages, Facebook or e-mails, and not in the Trip Report.

In an effort to keep things more streamlined and easy to follow, as well as to level the playing field for all of our TR writers, the TR's in this forum have to be mainly about the DLR trips in question. Yes, it's easy to get caught up in discussion and go off-topic every once in a while (it happens to all of us!), but try to get things back on track as quickly as possible.

Basically, the main DL forum is for DLR planning-related questions. The TR section is for DLR TR's. The DL Community subforum is for everything else, including all the chat threads.

Thanks for understanding!:goodvibes

Hope school went well for you!

It was okay except for the part from the beginning of school until lunch. My school had some kind of Back to School spirit thing and it was their first time doing it. Each grade as well as your the letter of your last name got put into groups. We were stuck in a classroom for all of the school rules and all of this stuff to be successful. They even had a pep rally for us and gave us t-shirts. Our snack break was short and the rally cut into lunch. We had 10 minutes of each class.

Well at least you got that over with, so tomorrow should be better!!
