Hi Everyone! Just checking in. I can't believe our trip is this week. I am very excited.

Made the shuttle ressies today and just need to start packing. My Red Neck gift exchange stuff arrived in the mail.... Now just waiting for a Disney t-shirt to wear for Saturday and will be all set.

I am really looking forward to this trip. It has been a tough month.I haven't been on the DIS boards or FB much because there has been a lot going on. Unfortunately about three weeks ago my dear friend contracted viral encephalitis. She is a doctor and usually very healthy. It was very scary how suddenly it came on . She's been in the hospital since. She has given so much to healing people and helping her community. It is very upsetting to see her in this situation. Everyone has been rallying around her (all of our friends, her family etc), but it was a real wake up call for me that you really just have to enjoy every moment. I almost considered opting out of the trip and staying home, but I know my friend would want me to go on the trip and have a fun time. Thankfully with technology, I can keep in touch with her while I'm on the trip. Fortunately, she is getting better. She is through the worst part. It is just going to take a lot of time and pixie dust because this is such a devastating disease.

Anyway, focussing now on getting all the last minute stuff done for the trip. Looking forward to meeting everyone and to partying with you all. Now to the packing...

I'm still waiting for my redneck gifts to arrive, getting a little nervous about them, actually. And I still haven't found a lime green shirt. I might work on that this weekend.

Pam, I am so sorry you've been going through so much lately. How scary for your friend. I don't know much about that disease, and I'm almost scared to look it up! Is it contagious?
I am glad to hear she's on the mend. And, I am glad you didn't cancel the trip. I'm sure she would not have wanted that for you, but you are a good friend to be so worried for her. Think of it this way, while you are at Disney, you can go shopping for something fun to bring back to cheer her up!


Heather, good luck with your lime green shirt hunt! Walmart had a bunch of bright colored womens tees, including bright green. Not sure if it was technically "lime" but you'll see that everyone has different shades of green on anyway.

MEET & GREET SNACK DROP OFF:​

There will be a box with the front desk at the Carousel from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday until approx. 3:30pm for everyone to drop off their snacks for the Meet & Greet. If you are unable to drop your snack off prior to the party, then just bring your snack with you to the party. Thanks ladies! I'm getting so excited and can't wait to see everyone!

Beth, my friend lives two hours away from me and I haven't physically seen her for a while - i.e. long before she was sick or symptomatic. Also, she was in ICU and hasn't been allowed visitors so none of us have had contact with her except her immediate family. It's the same virus strain that causes shingles and chickenpox but it traveled to her brain and caused the viral encephalitis. it is statistically very rare for that to happen. Anyway, I didn't want anyone to worry about us showing up sick as we weren't exposed. I am looking forward to the trip and getting to meet everyone. Packing about half done now.

Oh, okay. I honestly didn't know anything about it. That's so sad. I'm sure it's been so hard on her, her family and her friends.

OK let the craziness begin! LOL I work all day today, teach tonight, have an appointment at 7, need to do my mani/pedi (that will have to be tomorrow), need to finish a couple of pieces of jewelry (tomorrow probably), go to Target to pick a few things up, I'm having the hardest time finding Pixie Stix! Who knew?! I have to pack (tomorrow), get my gift exchange (won't be hard), figure out what I'm wearing to the M&G (probably nothing too redneck because I do have to work Thursday), Wednesday I work at the warehouse all day and then have class to teach so I won't have any time Wednesday and Thursday I have to work a partial day before I can head out to the M&G. phew.......LOL

I leave at dark o'clock tomorrow and hopefully get to DL before noon. I will have a couple errands to do in Anaheim for our trip, but otherwise I'm ready - except for the minor detail of PACKING. I'm usually such a pre-planner, but my suitcase has been getting a workout lately and I couldn't start early. I just got back from a weekend trip (not fun, I was taking a two-day class), and I was too tired last night to start! I'm looking forward to some fun.

I am done packing. Of course, it took two suitcases to do it, but hey, it's done. Actually, I'll end up coming back with one empty. It's a lot of "stuff" (door poster, party supplies, etc) that I won't be bringing back.
