DIS Diva's **Old thread**

Some of you already know, but my boyfriend was in a motorcycle accident last Friday. He just came home from the hospital today. He has several broken bones and lots of bruised internal organs. He is able to take small steps with a walker but it's going to take time for him to learn how to walk properly again. Because of the spinal cord injury his brain is not sending the right signals to this legs.

I was able to do the half marathon on Sunday but left right after so I didn't get to meet up with anybody. Hopefully for the Tinkerbell race I'll get to see some of you guys.

Oh my gosh January so awesome to see you and I'm so happy to see that you have someone in your life and going to have another baby! CONGRATS!!!

We had a very busy but fun weekend. Friday night was the girls first school dance and they had a blast then Saturday we had an away football game and although our team didn't do well Katy is getting her cheers down better and better and they are really looking good as a team. Then yesterday Shane and Katy ran in a 5k and it was so neat. It was a tribute for 9/11 and really made you feel patriotic. There were over 2000 runners and 1100 just in the 5k and Katy got 15th in her age group which went up to 19 and 238th overall which I was really impressed for her first 5k! Today it is back to the grind. Looking forward to more fall fun coming up soon.

Good morning, ladies!!

Well, sort of. LOL It is a Monday after all. I could not sleep last night, which did not make for a very fun morning.
I had to take Ruben to work so I could have the van. Noelle fractured her finger last week playing basketball, so she's got an appt today to get that looked at by a specialist. Hopefully she won't need surgery!

Adam has an appt later this week for a possible hernia. Hopefully that won't require surgery!
And, of course, I am still on pins and needles waiting for the results of my echo and biopsy. Oh, what fun we are having in this household lately!! Have I mentioned just how tired of doctors I am?

Oh well. Hopefully y'all are having a better Monday than I am!

Good morning all! I haven't logged onto the DIS in many weeks and decided I better check the thread to see what I'm missing! (Thankfully I can stay somewhat caught up via facebook!)

Beth - Cynthia, Nicole and myself are staying at the HOJO (Thursday - Sunday). We will also be attending the Meet and Greet on Thursday night!

Nothing new and/or exciting going on here - glad to have the kids back in school. We have a family trip planned for December 21-23rd. We haven't been at Christmas for many years so we're all looking forward to that!

Hello all, it's Monday..... lol

I had a good weekend, not too busy but busy enough. Friday night I taught that dance lesson I posted up thread, it was a good turnout and a fun class! Saturday I went to the Spirit Store which has JUST opened!!!!!!!!! And I was their FIRST customer!!!! YAY! I was super excited. LOL I bought 2 clings (1 a ghost for the girls bathroom mirror, 1 was a toilet cling that makes it look like spiders are crawling out of the toilet, ewwwwwwwwwwwww lol) and some fish net thigh hi's for my saloon girl/mardi gras costumes. I was hoping to find lights for my Blue Fairy costume and some purple or green tulle underskirt(s) for saloon girl and mardi gras but they didn't have anything other then red, black or white out yet. I'll go back later, they didn't have much stuff out at all, I was a little sad. LOL Also went to Micheal's and got some beads for some jewelry I'm making as a gift, went to the fish store and that was about it. Went home and sat around watching bad SyFy movies and making jewelry. Sunday Jade and I went to lunch and to the mall, walked through the Spirit store again, not much else was put out but I'm hopeful for the weekend. haha Went to Claire's and found a few things for $1, went to Wet Seal and I got 4 tank tops for $16, went to Hot Topic and got nothing and ended the day with a visit to Hot Dog on a Stick for some yummy lemonade! Got 3 larges and took 1 to Micah, who was at home watching the A's and the 9ers win their games. Went to teach last night at the bar and there were a whopping 2 people who wanted to take my lesson....LOL So I asked if they wanted me to change the dance and teach something else, so we went over a more difficult dance instead. That was fun. The rest of the night was dead so we closed up at 11:30 pm and headed for home. Today is the Raider game!!!!! GOOOOOOO Raiders!!!!! After I pick Jade up from the after school program I'm stopping at Target, I'll pick up paper towels and some candy corn Oreo's, some Cadbury Screme Eggs and a few other Halloween littles (maybe a few things for our exchanges!) and head for home, where I'm planning to make a chicken and potato casserole with cream of chicken soup and cheese. Serve it with a salad and some crescent rolls and dinner will be good. I also found a recipe for a Reese's pie that I might make, it looked amazing! lol

I've definitely had my fair share of doctors this past summer, and it's still on going. But hey, it happens, right?
I will say every time my phone rings, my heart starts to race! Waiting for answers sucks! LOL

So those of you who follow me on facebook saw my tragic news. My friends Chris and Diana were driving back to California from a 2 year military deployment in Washington DC over the weekend. Last night, a drunk driver hit Chris, whose car crashed into Diana's - which also had their two young sons Sam and Connor, plus she was pregnant with Ethan - and their pets. Her car was shoved under a semi that was broken down on the side of the freeway. From the sound of the reports, they were all killed instantly and the driver of the first vehicle is facing manslaughter charges. This was a devastating blow to everyone who knew them.

On a lighter note, our weekend was busy and lots of fun - we had birthday parties, a beer tasting event, and a soccer game to attend. These next two months are chock full of craziness and I am looking forward to them.

True they are all together so no one will be left behind to bear the tragedy but how devestating for the families. This makes me cry. Again so sorry for your loss and the loss to those families. Prayers!!!!

That is just so sad. Now I am crying too. It is good that they all got to go to heaven together, but still such a tragedy. My thoughts are with you and anyone else affected.
