Some of you already know, but my boyfriend was in a motorcycle accident last Friday. He just came home from the hospital today. He has several broken bones and lots of bruised internal organs. He is able to take small steps with a walker but it's going to take time for him to learn how to walk properly again. Because of the spinal cord injury his brain is not sending the right signals to this legs.

I was able to do the half marathon on Sunday but left right after so I didn't get to meet up with anybody. Hopefully for the Tinkerbell race I'll get to see some of you guys.

Ladies, TGIF!

Sarah I am sorry to hear about your boyfriend  I hope his recovery goes well. Thinking good thoughts for both of you while he is going through his rehabilitation to heal.

Melody, glad the procedure went well and preliminary results looking good for you :thumbsup2 Now it is a good excuse to take it easy for the next couple of days. :thumbsup2

Beth, I like that medieval web link you posted. :thumbsup2

Well, a day off today. DD is having an endoscopy and so even though the procedure is quick and safe, I want to stay close to home while she is resting. This will be a good excuse to do some on line shopping.

Everyone have a great day.

Good morning, ladies! TGIF! :cool1:

Any of you have fun plans this weekend? :)

Pam, I'm not entirely sure what an endoscopy is, but in any case, I hope your daughter does well, and everything is ok. Enjoy your online shopping! That's what I'm going to do today. I'm looking for Halloween items, specifically scary clowns for my front lawn. I can't find any that don't cost an arm and a leg though!

Speaking of Halloween, (Which I will do often for the next 2 months, so get used to it. It's like my Christmas, after all) thank you to all those who've signed up for the Halloween exchange already. We are up to 16, with four more who've said they will be messaging me soon. It's going to be so much fun with such a big group! I can't wait to see all those packages. :hyper:

If you are on the fence about signing up, come on, join in! After all, who doesn't enjoy opening a box full of Halloween fun!
OKay, so in reality mine are never this cutely put together, nor do they have as much candy, lol, but I love the looks of these.

This one I thought was so cute! Very clever with the webbing covering the package so you don't see everything at first glance. I might steal this idea...

Alright, I'll shut up now. But, if you are new to the group, and want to join the exchange but have some questions, just let me know. If Halloween isn't your thing, we will also be doing a Christmas stocking exchange, so keep that in mind, too.

:)

I hope that my DIS visits will continue. I miss everyone! I am sloooowly catching up on the thread.

Sarah - I am sorry to hear about his accident. I haven't really been on FB lately so I have missed a lot! I'm glad that he is home and I do hope that his recovery goes well. Motorcycle accidents aren't a joke. My DH was in an accident before I met him. From how he described it it's a miracle that he even survived it. Thankfully he had a helmet on (this was before they passed the mandatory law).

Mel - :goodvibes glad to hear that your procedure went well. Take it easy girl.

Pam I hope your daughter will be okay.

Beth - My Halloween=Christmas soulmate.. Those boxes are really cute! I have already started shopping and got some candy corn to put me in the mood :upsidedow.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Morning all!

Beth and Mel glad that things went well yesterday and here's hoping that your test results come out clear!! Will be thinking good thoughts for you both!

Oh gosh I am SO excited about the exchange! I haven't done one in awhile and i miss it and it always cheers me up to get the package plus as I said I have so much fun shopping for my person as well!!

We have a busy weekend this weekend. Girls have their back to school dance tonight. It is the only one besides the end of year one where all three grades go together. Shelby is not a girly girl and wasn't too sure but I think secretly she is excited and Katy LOVES the dances so I know she is excited as well. I'm just sad that Katy no longer wants to dress up. Last year she loved wearing dresses and skirts but this year it is just jeans and a top LOL.

Anyway then tomorrow we have our first away game and then RIGHT after we have our awards for the Meet of Champs from swim. That was back in the beginning of August but it always takes awhile before we have the dinner but it will be fun to see our swim friends again. Then on Sunday Shane and Katy are running in the Run to Remember 5k. So will be a busy and fun weekend.

Hope everyone has a fun weekend!!

Aww, sorry to hear that Sarah - I'll be praying for a speedy recovery

We are leaning more towards the dragon. :)

Yes! The dragon is super cute!

Mel~ Yay!

Today is my mom's 54th b-day and we are going out for dinner to celebrate. We were deciding on a time and I asked -since she is so "old"- if dinner should be at 4. :rotfl: She chuckled, but we picked 5 pm - which is still too early haha...I am looking forward to it though :)

Wow, 11 years. That's great it's held up so well.

I was drooling over the outfits on this website the other day: http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/c-146-clothing.aspx

I especially loved this one. The sleeves are awesome!

OMG that is gorgeous!!! Mine is not that elaborate in any way, mine is the simply peasant style, white chemise dress underneath, green over skirt and a bodice. The bodice was the expensive part, it's reversible, emerald green on 1 side, burgundy on the other and laces up the front. I'll have to be sure to take photos and post them on FB for you. :) I keep it stored in the closet between uses. I also have a dress I wore in a Celtic wedding a couple years ago, it's purple velvet, I used it last year to wear while passing out candy. :) It's much more regal and much hotter.....LOL

OMG Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear this. I wish him the best of luck with his healing process. :grouphug:

So sorry to hear about your boyfriend Sarah. Hope he recovers soon without too much pain.

All this talk about Halloween is getting me excited to take my little man out trick or treating for the first time. I've never been huge on dressing up, but the rest of halloween is always lots of fun. Can't wait to decorate a little bit and find a costume for Seth. This is what I have been looking at so far:

Ok please go with the dragon....OMG so cute!!!!!

It's Friday, which means after work I head home, pay a few bills and get changed to go to the Grad to teach. :) Should be fun, I'm teaching Alley Cat tonight. I like this one :) Here's a link if anyone is interested. :) We clap as we do the 4 steps forward, well others clap, I alternate between clapping and hitting my thigh. :)

Hi Wendy! I hope your DIS visits continue as well. It's good to see you around here. I wish more of the ladies would stop in more often. :)

I want to do some shopping this weekend. Last weekend the stores were barely getting a few Halloween items out. I think this weekend there will be much more to look at.

Morning all!

Beth and Mel glad that things went well yesterday and here's hoping that your test results come out clear!! Will be thinking good thoughts for you both!
Thanks!!
Hope the girls enjoy their dance tonight.

Happy Birthday to your mom! We usually have dinner here at home between 5:30 and 6. I guess we are old, too! :rotfl2: Enjoy!

Yes, post some pics! I'd love to see it. ::yes::

That looks like a fun dance. I've always liked country line dancing, and for the most part thought it looked fairly easy to learn. I bought a how-to DVD once, and I swear I could not figure it out for the life of me! :sad2: It was pathetic. But, then again, I have no sense of rhythm what so ever. I could probably handle the hand clapping, but that's about it.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes!

You might be surprised Beth. :) It is fun, a lot of fun. I've always liked to dance. That one is a 64 count, 4 wall intermediate line dance. :) It's got more steps but it's fun.

Sarah - Hoping your boyfriend heals quickly and makes a full recovery! Poor guy! :sad2:

Have a fun dinner with your mom! Might I add, she was born on a FABULOUS day. ;) :rotfl:

I think the dragon is what we are going to go for. If the Spirit Halloween store doesn't open up here in the next couple of weeks, then we will think about ordering it online so that it gets here on time.

So glad it's Friday. Only 15 more minutes left of my work day. My brain has shut off a little early. I've been looking at so many little numbers all day that I just can't do any more!

Happy birthday to your Mom Jenn.

Capri, was that a hint that it's your birthday today?

Man...you are making me feel old!

J/K..... such is life!

Andrea, the dragon is cute too!:cutie:
Hey, if you sign up at the Spirit Halloween's website, they give out coupons. Right now they have one for 20% off your whole order.

Happy Birthday Capri!!! Have fun drinking tonight! :3dglasses

Dinner was great :) The boys and I went to the mall and I bought a little gift for the DH...a new, large coffee mug. He will be so thrilled in the morning.

I know I've missed tons on here and I don't have time to catch up so I hope I haven't missed anything important. Life has been really busy in a good way & I just wanted to check in since I know a few of you have been worried .

Beth~ I'm going to sign Laila up Halloween exchange and I'll try to PM you tomorrow :thumbsup2.

Mel~ I got you're PM :thumbsup2.

Capri~ Happy, happy birthday to you girl!

Really? My mom's birthday is Sept. 7th too. Plus you and me share the same birthday. How weird is that?

Good morning, ladies! Happy Saturday to you all. :sunny:

Unfortunately, we don't have any fun plans here. Ruben, my DH, works all weekend. He's usually off weekends, but had the chance to pick up some overtime. That is extremely rare, so he jumped at the opportunity. I hate that he has to work his days off, but extra money is always a good thing, especially with our trip at the end of this month.

Hope you all have a great day!

Sounds good! :thumbsup2

That is weird! Talk about a coincidence.
Glad your life is "good busy". :goodvibes
