Good morning, ladies! Feels like it's afternoon after such a long morning, but not yet. Thank you all so much for the well wishes, and good thoughts both here and on Facebook! It feels good to read those. I am home, resting per doctor's orders. What?? No housework? Just rest?? Fine by me!! LOL ;)
Everything went smoothly so far. Nothing to do now but wait for the results to come in. So, keep those good thoughts coming! Thanks!!

Melody, I thought of you today while I was in my appointment and said a prayer that you were doing ok.

I also for got to add that Elise will also be in our room at the Hojo's with Jamay and I.
Thanks, I had her on the attendee list, but not on the hotel list. I will add her to your room now.

I figured we would hear more about Disneyland but they kind of just told us the history of Halloween. It was very slow going.

We did get a ghost relations key on a light up lanyard and a rice crispy treat.

I know we go to ride haunted mansion but I'm not sure what else
Ooooh, I'd like to hear the history of Halloween. (you're shocked, right? lol) The lanyard sounds neat and I could eat a rice krispy treat....or three. :rolleyes1
HM is one of my favorite rides. ToT on the other hand, I'll pass!!!! :scared1:

Boy..you cant get to the boards for a couple of days and you get left wayyyy behind...so to catch up a bit

Beth- Sign me up for the meet and greet please

Pam- I am so sorry for your loss.

Beth and Melody- Good thoughts for you both!

Kit
Hi, Kit! I'll add you to the party list now. :thumbsup2

Also... this is gonna sound really dumb but I can't find where the price/cost is for the Meet and Greet. Judging from previous pictures, it is quite a spread, but I can't find where that's written down somewhere and it would sure be useful in trip planning. Can anyone help me out?
It hasn't been announced yet. We are trying to get a general head count right now. Once we've done that, we will have a better idea of what it will cost. The fee covers food, drink, dessert. Then we have a snack/candy buffet. Everyone brings something for that, then we all get to go through line and pick what we want. It's awesome! :thumbsup2

One more bit of info, and this just an FYI for everyone going on the trip, we aren't really allowed to discuss funds or any money exchanges here on the DIS, so that information (for the party and shirts) will be posted on our Facebook page.
For those who aren't on Facebook, don't worry, I will send it to you in a private message here on the DIS. No one will miss out on any important info. :)

So sorry to hear about your mom, Pam. Been there, done that, it gets easier but even after over 20 years I still have my moments :sad1: Like right now, just thinking about her... Sorry, on to happier subjects!

:hippie:
Aw, Stacie. :(

Still trying to get a trip in October worked out, I'd like to take the girls and do the MHP, just have to make the budget work with me on it and it's proving more challenging then I thought, because I have to make my Blue Fairy costume from scratch and the top is going to be $62. :( Luckily everything else I've paid about $40 total for, that counts tights, shoes, skirt, ribbons, glitter, random stuff for jewelry and my hair.....I guess that's actually not too bad at all....hmmmmmmmmmmm

Your costume sounds cute!! I can't wait to see it. :yay:

We went to a Halloween store a few days ago, and I tried on a renaissance princess type of costume. I loved it! I felt so regal. LOL But, it was $60. I don't even spend that much on regular clothing, ever, let alone a costume I'd wear once for Halloween. Besides, by the time I finish buying costumes for the kids, I am feeling pretty broke! :rotfl:
So, as much as I love Halloween, I never really dress up. :confused3 Well, not in anything more than a witches hat or cowboy hat. It's ok though. I enjoy dressing up the kids, even if the girls don't want to be princesses anymore. :sad2: ;)

I dress up every year, but I like to recycle and make my own stuff as much as I can. The Blue Fairy is more challenging because I need a corset top in a certain color to match everything else I've found, it's $62 at Fredericks. lol But, I'm going to wear it again as a saloon girl on another night (we have at least 3 nights planned at the bar), I have done the saloon girl costume before and have the skirt I made for that so I'll wear this corset top again for that, so 2 nights out of this corset top already. For my 3rd night I think a friend and I are doing a Mardi Gras themes, so I have a green feather boa and a mask for that already, I'll use the same black skirt as the saloon girl costume (and add some green and/or purple tulle underneath that) and wear my purple corset top that I used for my saloon girl costume last time. And, the thing with the corset tops, I like to wear them out so I'll pair them with jeans and boots and wear them to the bar for work. lol :)
I also have a Ren Faire costume, and we are going to the Ren Faire in 2 weeks. :) And we are planning a Halloween party for October 20th so I'll need something for that....but I'll just use something I already for that. :)

Beth & Melody - thinking of you both today!

Halloween costume? Not here. I know, you're all shocked at that. I have a shirt that says, "This *IS* my costume". I also have a "grim reaper" robe thing that I wear on Halloween when I pass out candy. And, until they give me a headache and I have to take them off, a headband with sparkly red "devil" horns on it. Voila. Costume. LOL

We went to the Las Vegas Ren Faire last October for the first time ever, and I loved it!! I can't wait to go back again. I'd love to buy one of the authentic costumes they sell there from that time period, but they are $200 and up. Yikes.

I have a pair of those sparkly devil ears. They came in handy for our trip to Hell. :thumbsup2

Yup, that's where I got mine, not LV but at a Ren Faire. LOL It was about $150 and that was probably 11 years ago......still fits and looks great.

We also went on Space Mountain. I think it was only those 2 rides. The tour started out in CA so now I'm wondering if we did TOT. Can't remember. It ended with Haunted Mansion.

Do we need to sign up for the M&G by a certain date? I'm planning on going but it's not 100% sure yet.

We loved the Happiest Haunts Tour when we did it a couple of years ago. It was really fun doing something from the villain's point of view :thumbsup2 We went on TOT, Monsters Inc, Big Thunder, and Haunted Mansion. Our tour guide was super. The treat we got was a cinnamon candy apple (way too hot for me - and super sticky on the teeth!), but the lanyard sounds the same. Very cool. I'd totally do it again ;)

I would like to know about this tour too!

We can work something out... Maybe I can get my sister to take the tour and get the goodies at the same time?? Like multiple-tasking.. Lol
Sounds like a good plan :goodvibes - I need to call and get the cost of the tour.

Hmmm....well, I did read on another board that last year they didn't give out glow sticks, they just gave you pumpkins to pin to your shirt.

Costumes....the hubs and I will be Bert and Mary Poppins for our trip to MHP. I suggested Bob Ross and a painting, but he said no :rotfl: The boys cannot decide on what they will be this year. Gone are the days when they coordinate.

No, you don't. Right now we are just taking sign-ups to get a general idea of what we are looking at attendance wise.

Sounds fun! Minus the cinnamon candy apple. My teeth can't handle those, but I'm sure my kids would've been happy to take it off my hands. lol

Wow, 11 years. That's great it's held up so well.

I was drooling over the outfits on this website the other day: http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/c-146-clothing.aspx

I especially loved this one. The sleeves are awesome!

Some of you already know, but my boyfriend was in a motorcycle accident last Friday. He just came home from the hospital today. He has several broken bones and lots of bruised internal organs. He is able to take small steps with a walker but it's going to take time for him to learn how to walk properly again. Because of the spinal cord injury his brain is not sending the right signals to this legs.

I was able to do the half marathon on Sunday but left right after so I didn't get to meet up with anybody. Hopefully for the Tinkerbell race I'll get to see some of you guys.

Oh, Sarah. I was reading the updates on FB from your mom. I'm glad he's home now, but I'm sorry he's having trouble walking. Will he start physical therapy soon? Poor guy. Sounds like he's going to have quite the recovery process ahead of him. But, I'm glad at least he's still around!! Motorcycle accidents are so scary.

Hi ladies! Home and tired, but doing well. So far everything looks good. Path test will take a week to make sure.

I just have to say something to Sarah. That was very scary for you and your boyfriend. Sounds like he is very fortunate to be here. I hope his recovery time is speedy. Have you talked to physical therapy yet? Take care, and big hugs!

Hi, Mel!! Glad to see you posting and to hear it all went well, and looks good so far! Take care, get lots of rest.

Hugs, Sarah! A dear friend of ours was nearly killed about 12 years ago in a motorcycle accident. I still shudder when I see close calls with bikes on the roads.

Glad to see everything is looking good, Melody!

This one actually doesn't look terribly difficult to sew. But that's without seeing the back. All the corset type dresses scare the crap out of me. I like patterns with the phrases "Quick and Easy" or "Simple" in the title LOL

So sorry to hear about your boyfriend Sarah. Hope he recovers soon without too much pain.

All this talk about Halloween is getting me excited to take my little man out trick or treating for the first time. I've never been huge on dressing up, but the rest of halloween is always lots of fun. Can't wait to decorate a little bit and find a costume for Seth. This is what I have been looking at so far:

We are leaning more towards the dragon. :)

I knew you liked things quick and easy. :rolleyes1

I can't even sew on a button so the thought of making a whole dress like this is  .

I love the dragon!! I mean, they are both cute, but I've seen the tiger suit before. I haven't seen that dragon.
I remember taking the kids for their first time. Once they realized they could get candy just by knocking on a door, they were loving it! LOL
