DIS Digi-Scrappers Challenge #7 (5/28 - 6/3)

I don't know how to tear paper, though? Can someone explain how to do that in photoshop, or link to a tutorial? I'd love to learn, even without this challenge!
)

You could always cheat and use a piece of already torn paper from one of Britt's kits. That's what I plan to do if I can't figure out how to "tear" paper this week!! :)

Hi Fran!

I can't believe that you had time to scrap before you leave for your trip! The picture looks really cool torn - I will have to try that. I also like the one large picture as the focus and the three little ones. The title is perfect and the I really like the placement of the stars! Have a great time at Disney!

Well, here's mine. Turns out I don't know how to read properly. My pictures are straight and the tear is on the picture. I didn't see it til they were placed and I didn't want to move or tilt them, I liked them as is! Odds are I won't have time to do another, so here it is in its glory. I made a play on the parade title for mine, DH came up with it! I had to do the LO twice, my program crashed when I was almost done, I had last saved after just the pics were in place, sigh!

Thanks for the fun challenge!!

Everything is by Britt -- Including the template.... except the litle notebook paper, which is by Seebees. And, I borrowed the four little character photos from Flickr.

DisneyCruiser2008!!!! I LOVE YOUR LAYOUT! I can't wait to see this parade so that I can get pictures and scraplift your layout! ;)
I can't even tell you what I love about it - I just love all of it!!!! Thanks for participating!

Here's my entry.....and I am SOOOOO sorry, but I don't know the designer of this kit.....it's called "Magical Memories", but there's no designer's name listed on the preview file, and I obviously didn't save the TOU file if there ever was one....and there's no name in the file names to give me a hint or anything.....:confused3 It was one I got off ebay eons ago (or so it seems :rotfl: ). If anybody recognizes it, please let me know so I can give proper credit...:worship: I hate not being able to do that! The alpha stamp and the glitter is by Britt-ish Designs, at least I can credit that much!

DisneyCruiser. I LOVE that layout! All the pictures and elements really came together nicely on that one. I love it and it makes me want to see the Block Party Bash at DHS even more and I'm already dying to see it!! Great job!!

I thought I was going to have to sit out or steal :( some parade pictures but I found some from our trip in 2005 for my daughters hs graduation. Here is my challenge entry. Thanks, Marilee

Great parade pictures - it is great that you got to see this in person. I really like the way the pictures coordinate with the Mickey icon paper and brads. I also like that you were able to get seven pictures on the page and it doesn't look crowded. My biggest personal challenge of going from traditional to digital is not putting as many pictures on a page!

Great Job! Thanks for participating :)

marileeh,

I am so glad that you found parade pictures to participate! I love the contrast between the nighttime pictures and the bright paper. I also like your torn piece! I also think that the element on the bottom of the picture that is similar to the element across the bottom of the layout is a nice touch! Well done, thanks for participating!

Cool challenge! Had to dig way into the wayback file to find pictures of a parade. We don't go to them anymore because we've seen them (and it's a great time to ride rides). But I dug some up. So here's mine. My favorite shots were of Mary Poppins (looks like she knows my personality with that look on her face) and Maleficent ("Silence! I keel you!" -- anyone know Achmed the Dead Terrorist, one of Jeff Dunham's puppets? It's just something about her stance and that phrase came to mind).

BernieAnn - I have almost that same pic of Peter Pan. Glad I chose a different parade because your LO is soooooo great!
SleepingBean - love the sneaky date :-)
Fran - love the title!
Kswm30b - I'll second Yzerbear's recommendation of the tear paper action from Atomic Cupcake. I've used the heck out of it since I got it. It's soooooo easy.
DisneyCruiser2008 - I love your page... it reflects all the action I've heard about from this parade
ngneer98 - I love the way you have baloons all over the place in the pictures and on the page and everything.
marileeh - okay, I know I said I don't do parades, but I do still have to see spectromagic. It's a favorite! Love your LO!

I thought I'd get this done and post it before I start packing. This parade is a short little parade, but it's fun to see it coming down Main Street when you're not expecting it. The characters are so interactive with everyone that I swear they were posing for me!

The cute patterned paper covered with stars and dots that I used seems to have gotten most of the pattern covered by pictures. Oh well, I tried! All credits go to Britt-ish Designs (although most are recolored) except for an alpha called offset by Marie Stone. Font: Easy Street

Ladies, I am home from the cruise. Thankfully, I did get to take photos of one parade at DL, the Pixar parade at DCA. Can't wait to scrap it, will have to get the photos uploaded and organized quick.

how fun!
Hypermommy, love the poloroid effect. That is what I initially thought of for this layout!

Pooh, I agree about the Family Fun Day parade. It's a treat when you aren't expecting it and suddenly there are characters coming your way! Gotta like that!

it's hard to look so forward to Tues and Wed and then scrap fast and WAIT for 4 whole days! :rotfl2:

YAY! I can finally add mine! I had it uploaded last night but it was too late to post. Today at work they decided to try out some new software that blocked most of our Internet usage. This included the DIS because its a "discussion board." :furious: Rumor has that its only a trial and won't stick around since most people were :furious:. So I'm happy to have the DIS back! Going all day without it is not fun.

Anyways, here is my layout:

I decided to focus on my favorite float: the Villans. I used a title I had used for one of my paper layouts, which comes from a sign we bought at the Salem Witch Museum in Salem, MA. Putting everything askew was irritating me since I like things straight!

First of all, thanks for participating. I know that a lot of peple skip the parades especially if they have seen them. I guess I have an obsession with them!!

I love polaroid frames, the stitches to hold them in place and the ribbon. It gives your layout an additional sense of nostalgia. I really love the way you hung the date on the letters.

Pooh46,

You and Fran are so impressive that you can put a page together right before a trip! Thanks for taking the time to participate before the packing! This is really a cool layout. I love the balance of the layout! And don't worry - you can tell the paper is patterned - and besides, we are all here to have fun and share our love for Disney and scrapping! I love the wavy double frames that show the picture through inbetween - I am going to have try that!

dIt is really interesting to see pictures of parades that I have never seen or heard of - I am glad that you had time to share these.
