Hello Ladies,

Just checking in. This is my ultra-busy time at work so I haven't posted much but I have been thinking about all of you wonderful ladies. I hope everyone has a great time if they are going on vacation, or just a nice summer if staying at home (like we are).

momoftwins - sorry your mom has to go through this. It's so nice of you to be helping her even if it's long-distance. Although we hate to see anyone join us on this journey, we are here to offer any advice that we can. Although I don't have any advice on the ensure front - sorry.

It has been a really rainy/stormy weekend here, I should be cleaning closets but am so unmotivated.......I suppose I should get the grocery shopping done so we can eat

Sha and Fl Lisa - so glad to see the nice picture of the two of you too!!

Ann - seems like you got the weather that we missed. But I hear thunder now. I thought of you as ds18 is still asking for the mac book.

KJ - staying home in the summer is good too. We dont really go anywhere over the summer as dh is always crazy busy. I do want to go to Nj for the week end once to see my aunt who is almost blind and had a hip replacement.

Ds18 lifeguarded a private kids b party yest. Alot of the moms asked about him and said he looked familiar. They couldnt believe he was also the very same bowling alley b party host. They all loved him and want him at their own parties in the summer etc. Gheesh! Mr. Popular. Well at least he is getting a good reputation.

I did the grocery shoping with dh so now on to more laundry. I need a nap!! I see I dont have to go to the stomach surgeon for 2 weeks, and my stomach just so happens to be hurting me alot lately, hmm maybe he knows something that I dont know?? and my meeting got postponed till the same week too.

MinnieTink - so what did you get for your b day?

I am sick. I have some horrid cough, post nasal drip etc. So not good with a neck dissection. I had ds20 get me cough drops, I ate chicken soup for lunch (Yes, in June!! I must be sick) and I took some prescription codeine cough medicine. That is the only thing working right now. I hate being sick. Also I always cough really hard anyway, so that also translates into making my stomach hurt alot too, (also not good with 2 implants in it). I want to be better.

I am back about an hour ago but now off to a softball game for DD14.

Back in the saddle again, no wait that was the Mesquite thing. Never had so much BBQ in my cotton picking life.

Oh my, and BBQ at the wedding reception.

Please pass the boiled shrimp, crab dip and oysters patties.

I kind of think our traditional new Orleans receptions are a bit more fun. Alcohol is the cure for what ails ya.

Linda - the renovations look beatiful, Hmm, there is something missing from the counter. A plate with a piece of cake!! (sorry I couldnt resist). All your hard work and planning has really paid off!!

Laurie - welcome home ya'll. Hmm, you could give me the barbeque if you get tired of it

I am still sick. I hate having a cold in the summer. I hate not being able to taste anything. I had more soup today and some hot tea. Dh told me I kept him awake all night coughing. Oh well.

Looks like Elizabeth is having a great tme if you are following her report.

I accidently got the bill for my nuclear scan. I think this was onoy for the scan, not all the shots, blood tests and the radioactive pill. It was $1,441.00!! Ghesh, we ae so blessed that dh coverage has no lifetime limit. That helps the emotional state for sure.

MaryAnn, I wish I could send some BBQ up to y'all. We left the leftovers in Mesquite.

I wish you a speedy recovery. I coughed all the way to Texas. I thought my mom who was riding with me in the roomy back seat was going to disinherit me. I hope you get your sense of taste and smell back soon. Having that deficit is a drag, I am right there with ya, girlfriend.

I am chugging the cough med liquid.

Linda, thank you so much for the pictures. Your pictures, and even more important, your kitchen look absolutely good enough to eat. I love your results. It looks upscale but livable and usable.

I agree with Mary Ann, where's the beef. . . er make that where's the cake???????

I am drooling over here. I need to hire you.

I am enjoying your live report, Elizabeth. You saw the updated BMV rooms. I agree the bathroom is awesome. I really dig the tile and the layout of the spacce. I will try and post some of the pictures I took of our unit from our May trip, if anyone is interested. The balcony is my happy place. I'll see if I have a picture of the balcony, but the pictures don't really do it justice. The view, especially from the location I request and have been fortunate to receive the last couple years, is really great. I have some shots from the vantage point of that view of the boardwalk and the lake to post as well. Please keep in mind that I cannot vie with Sha, Linda, and Elizabeth (or her husband?) I think the boardwalk view might seal the deal for you doing an add on at Boardwalk.

Love the pictures of Lisa and Sha, and Lisa, Sha and Elizabeth. So very fun to see.

Lisa, you are so beautiful. I hope to see you in person for the RFTC?

Sha, you are your mom are so dear to me.

Elizabeth, your trip report pictures are beyond great. Between the camera and the subjects well, I think I am right there with you. Please continue to have a wonderful time. I am following your report with anticipation. The best part is the live aspect of it. I wish I could pull that off. I am just too freaking lazy.

Linda...the kitchen is just so beautiful!! I could make myself right at home there! You must smile every time you walk in there.

Enjoying Elizabeth's report too! Did I tell you all I have a 5 day weekend coming up in about a month? I am dreading the heat but planning the early morning and nightime park routine with pool/room chillin' in the afternoons.

Yesterday was my mother and father's 63rd anniversary....the first in 3 years they have been "together" for it. My mom passed a few months after their 60th, and my dad a few months ago as you know. Kind of a bittersweet day.

Hope those of you not feeling well are on the mend soon.

I hope your work duties are more manageable these days.

You are brave to try a July trip. It sounds like you have a plan though. Will you be staying at your beloved Swan?

I liked my brief excursion over there my last trip. My now 20 year old and I sneaked over there for a sushi treat in Kimono's. We had quite the heart to heart talk, above the crazy karoke. I liked the vibe at the Swan.

Linda, how is the add on construction going? You guys tackled a lot at one time. You are so going to enjoy the finished product.

I am getting over the coughing thing. I came n=home to no airconditioning in the living room/kitchen area of the house Monday. DH had the a/c man over yesterday and we are back to comfort.

I wish I could be lazy and chill at home but work beckons. We need to do some yard work but it will have to wait till Saturday.

I am still congested. Cant taste things that well. At least I am not coughing as much. I am getting sick of being sick.

Ds 20 has totally crossed the line. Lets just say dh took his car away last night. I hope this boy straightens himself out and soon. I pray for him alot for sure. He decided to sleep overnight at Emilys, with her boyfriend there no less I hope he comes home today.

Ive got a little bug going on... sore throat and some congestion to the lower sinuses... sort of weird. trying not to let it get in my chest. Not coughing much at all.... which is good. Being my own doctor as we leave to go to Virginia. Told mom when she was sick a couple weeks ago, that if I get sick it could interfer with this trip. I hope I can kick it. We leave tomorrow after work, so trying to juice it so to speak. Simple foods like tomato soup and chicken noodle, flushing sinuses, cinnamon and honey... trying to push the fluids. Have some mucinex too... hate being sick. I dont do sick very well.
