LMP - I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. Here's hoping for great results on your test. :thumbsup2

Fl Lisa - I hope your rads go well.

Ann - I'm sorry about your kitty. It's so hard to lose a beloved member of the family, especially so soon after your dad.

 to everyone

GAGWTA.

Good evening ladies

Fl Lisa and KJ - Hope your rads went well today

Lisa (Honu) - Hope things are progressing with your surgery plans

Laurie - Are you still recovering from the week end?

So here is a little endo visit update. She says:

The sonogram was great and the cancer remnant that wa there the last time is now gone and has been killed by the ingestable radiation:yay:

The cancer level is undetectable:yay:

The other level is almost undetectable and that is supressing the cancer if there are any cells there, ie microscopic. But I will have to stay on that med for another year at a high dose. This does not make dh happy as the side effect is me being a little hyper, so He will have to live with that. It also can cause heart palpatations, small price to pay for cancer repression:)

I still have to have the 3 month blood tests, but I dont have to go back to her for 6 months:yay:. She also said the recurrence is usually seen in the lst year post op, so she is really pleased with my results. She is also e mailing the rad. oncologist. She feels I dont need the scan but thinks the rad. onc. will do it anyway and then there is something else she mentioned about getting the 2 hormone shots and just doing a blood test. I know the one time the rad. onc. did mention doing a scan. I will have to talk to her in April, its just those shots are horrid. I am going to ask her about zofran next time.

Oh and my bp is a little up so she is upping the med and worse I gained like 7 lbs. in 6 months, honestly I told her I dont know how. I dont eat more etc. Maybe staying in too much all winter etc. She also wants me to go have a bone density scan.

Dh is turning ds cell phone on later, so we will see what happens and ds18 said his friend hasnt heard from the univ. either, this waiting is stressful. Oh and now they are having a meeting tomm. about sending my dh on an emergency trip to China next week:scared1:. I told him its easter soon etc. We will see.

GTAGWTA. Have a great day.

LMP - I'm so happy for you!:cool1: What great news!

I'm sorry your son still hasn't heard anything from the university. It's terrible how they make the kids wait. Hopefully, he'll hear something soon.

My first radiation treatment went well today. I'm tired, but I think that's mainly from the wedding on Saturday.

I like that undetectable stuff!:yay: yippee!1

We found another outfit for DD and shoes for the youth legislature Wednesday and Thursday. We ran into two other moms and their daughters doing the same thing at the mall after school.

My feet they are a killing me. Time to get off of them.

Our wonderful bonnet creek owner snagged us a 3 bedroom. Yes!! and double yes!!

I am really not sure if DS21 will join us. He needs to work big time this summer. I asked him tonight and he said he would not mind, depending on work.

Good afternoon ladies, rainy and dreary here!

Nothing too new. I mistyped yest. I actually gained the 7 pounds since dec. when I saw her:scared1:, so that makes it alot worse. But if I have to go on that diet, I know last time I lost 20 lbs. in 2 weeks, so we will see.

Ds18 - no univ. news today, sigh and more prayers

Ds 22 - was only offered a part time job from his internship after graduating and I didnt ask ds if that is only for the summer since the guy said what are you doing over the summer, hmm, maybe he was thinking ds was going to grad school? I dont know what he should do, its his decision. He has his other part time jobs with the basketball, gym and maybe pool or lifeguarding if he takes the classes soon. With this economy I dont know. I told him to see about career fairs at the college and I guess he wont be moving out any time soon. He said he doesnt want to do a masters. I know we got the notice from work that his health care is ending soon for free and we would have to do the paperwork to carry it over and now with this new stuff I dont know where we stand. I dont think we should pay for all of it anyway, ds should chip in something, not to mention he will need a newer car soon, not paying for that either, we bought him this one already etc.

Oh and it appears from my research we could only use our ff miles at certain hotels which aa books with and on the computer all that was popping up was animal kingdom, ok dh and I dont like it there., so they did have contemporary and grand floridian, I could go with either one of those but on the other screen they are gone so I dont know if the rooms are sold out for what they had inventory for etc. I guess dh might have to call etc.

GTAGWTA. Have a great day.

Hi Ladies!

What a gorgeous day we had here today. Sunny and 77 degrees! I've been waiting all Winter for this.

I hope this weather stays around for those of you who have trips to WDW coming up.

Good morning ladies:)

Well its sunny here too but alas rain is coming by tonight and for the next few days, heah I thought it was the April showers that bring the May flowers?

Nothing too much new, Dh does not have to go to China next week:thumbsup

Tonight is the prom. It will be fun seeing ds18 all dressed up. He still hasnt heard from the state univ. and he did call the comm. college. Another admissions counselor is suppose to call him back. One said they might be able to give him all the classes like the program if he cant get into it, in the meantime his new thing is now applying to the college I used to work at, why, I dont know. I think some of his friends are.

Laurie - I though of you and the girls school drama. Yest. they had to pick out their rooms for the class trip. Ds is not even in the classes where this was held. Apparently everyone switched ds many times. The teacher was furious and thought ds did it. He said, not my writing,I am not in your classes etc. Well it appears he is now in a group of 5 boys. 1 room has 6 boys, Honestly I dont know how that is going to happen. Supposedly they are staying at CBR. He told me not to call the teacher and keep my nose out of it. O.K.

GTAGWTA. Have a great day ladies.

Boys will be boys.

Glad the trip was called off.

Two days at youth legislature and I am whipped. I don' t have the foggiest how the teachers hold up. You shoulda seen the steep outside steps I had to go up and down to feed quarters to the parking meters. Have I told y'all that I am too old for this?

I was very proud of DD14. She had a great speech and delivered it well. She did not win but landed a great job as seargeant at arms. There were so many duties it was crazy. Tonight she had to skip soccer and track practice, only made the cheerleading practice.

She looked so very good in her conservative attire. Some of the girls (these are 13 and 14 year olds, mind you) had 4 inch heels on. You should have seen them clumping up the stairs. The festivities were held in the old state capitol circa the 1920's. The building has the most ridiculously winding staircase ever. If you don't hold onto the handrail you are toast. Also, the steps are open steel, kind of like wrought iron. Very interesting choice of materials.

I am having my blue moon and just polished off some boilded crawfish.

Life is good.

6 in a room at the Carribean? Those are double beds! That will be a challenge with 18 year old boys. What are the dates?

GAGWTA!

Popping in to say hello!
We are re-doing our bedroom, decided after many years of mismatched post-divorce furniture we would get a matching set. Good deals to be had in this economy! It's pretty, a cream colored finish rather than stained wood, quite a departure for us. It's being delivered next week so DH wants to paint walls this weekend, which means I need to pick wall color ASAP. I wanted to pick bedding first but can't find something that screams "this is it!". So I have to pick paint. We have 3 splotches of samples from Lowe's up, I will decide in the morning. Two greens (Sparkling Lake and something else) and grayish blue(Lighthouse Shadow). I love paint names!! They are such soothing colors. Hope I don't fall in love with some burgundy and gold bedspread LOL

Picked up Tasha's ashes from the pet crematorium today. So sad. In a little wood box. Not sure what next with that, DD can decide. :confused3

Saw a urologist last week, been having some "overactivity" and other issues. Very nice young thorough and thoughtful female doc! Considering some meds and some PT as well, they actually have a specialized PT at the Urology practice! Leery of the meds, a listed side effect is "dry mouth, constipation, dry eyes, etc." I'm dry enough in some areas thanks very much after hysterectomy in 2001 and 4 years of anti-estrogen meds. Another "sucks to get old but sure beats the alternative" issue I guess.

Hope you all are well :grouphug:

Good evening ladies

Please say a prayer for TruBlue (traceys mom), on the c and c board she said she is not doing well and she was taking her to the oncologist today.

Laurie - Wow, you are amazing with all you did for your dd!! I am sure she really appreciates you. DS class trip is May 17-22.

Ann - I should probably join you in going to the drs. First I thought my problems were from one of the meds which the dr. switched, but now I am thinking its post surgical stuff from all the abdominal surgery etc. I am also putting this off as I dont want to hear the word surgery again etc. Hmm, maybe when they fixed one thing in me they messed up another

KJ and Fl Lisa - Hope the rads are going well and that you can rest up over the week end.

Lisa (Honu) - Hope things are going forward with the surgery plans and testing

Well last night was the prom. Ds said he had a good time but the girl didnt even talk to the girls she knew. She is just so shy and quiet. They went to the house to take pictures and they live with the grandparents and the mom later told ds he made quite an impression on grandpa and he thought he was such a gentlemen!!:)

DS 20 has spring break now. Oh joy, Hmm, he did actually assist me with the dinner prep so that was nice.

No news from the state univ. yet, sigh, sigh. I think ds20 heard from them around this time too like 4 years ago and he was rejected, so we will pray and wait and see. Its going to be so cold here this week end. Oh what fun!!

GTAGWTA. Thinking of you all.

Ann that sounds nicer than the tin they put George's ashes in. I want his ashes buried with me. He was my baby after all.

Hope you are all doing well. I am hanging in there. Have my May trip to look forward to. Doing some planning. It helps.

Sha - trip planning is so much fun!! Are you eating any place special?? Can you see I am obsessed with the Disney food:)

Here is a question for you or Linda. If I have a script and the dr. didnt write daw, since I forgot to remind her I dont want the generic on the one med, can I just write it in there myself? I guess I could have the pharmacy call the office? Or call them myself, the drs. office?. I think it would just be so much easier for me to write it with a little black pen etc.:)

Time for me to do some number crunching on the supposed trip for us in May. I am just so on the fence about it only because I dont know what kind of test the rad. onc. is going to do with me, 1 I will be radioactive for 2 days and the other will also make me sick and nauseous. I dont know how I could pack etc. And its the only week dh can go, May 17-22. Ds doesnt want to see us there since its his class trip too etc.

dont write on it. Just when you take it to fill it, tell them that you do not want generic. You can also call them. There is nothing saying you HAVE to have generic, unless your insurance says so. But then you would just pay for the med. The doctor wrote the non generic name, then you can use that as your argument if they fuss with you.

I have Le Cellier, Kona and Garden View Tea. Might look to see about dinner at the place that took Spoodles actually. Just thought about that. Kat Kora's place... cant think of the name. You all know what I mean though.

My sister and my niece will be joining in on this trip. Have a room for 9 and hoping for 9 to show up. Think 1 wont though. Which is fine.

Hi Everyone!

Sha - Your trip plans seem to be coming along well. I barely plan when we go to WDW anymore - we just wing it.

LMP - I'm glad your DS had a nice time at the Prom. Too bad he is still playing the college waiting game. He must be getting frustrated.

NHAnn - I'm jealous of your bedroom redo! We were just about to start major house projects when I received my diagnosis, so everything is on hold indefinitely. I'm wondering when we will ever get around to restarting our plans.

Laurie - You must be worn out from your trip with DD. I'm happy it went so well for her!

I'm through with week one of the rads. I'm a little more tired than I expected to be at this early stage. No plans for this weekend - I just plan on resting up for next week.

Lisa, you are wise to conserve your energy. I hope you are less tired next week.

We have a few plans when we go to WDw, but invariably change and do what comes naturally.;) Does not matter if the kids are with us or not. We kinda "let it be."

I do like making some plans though as it is good to savor the anticipation part of the trip. Even if you go often, each trip is unique. The time of year, the makeup of the party going, the resort, etc.

It amazes me how each trip seems different but special in its own way.

I would like to plan more meals but I am often less than pleased with the food. We have enjoyed Cali Grill, Sanaa, and Boma.

Been disappointed lately with the others we picked.

Since we almost always have a unit with a kitchen or a kitchette, we try and eat some healthy fruit, cereral, salads, etc.

That helps!

Thanks for posting about Trublu, LMP. Maybe your son will get some good news today.

We are planning a work in the yard day today. We lost all the tropical stype stuff, even my huge huge huge gardenias. I am perturbed at that as we will need a lot of stuff to fill that area. Our big azalias look like the have been through hell and back but can you believe they are blossoming after all. We will really need to feed them afterwards. It is a warm and low humidity day, so a good one to work outside. The grass is really greening up and the birds are busy.

Ann, would love to see pictures of your renovation. Did you decide on paint? The colors sound luscious.

What a good project to focus on after your recent losses. I am glad you have something positive to work on.

Laurie - Instead of 'fine dining' at WDW, we have been trying some more casual places and been happy with those.

We like to have lunch at The Sand Trap at Osprey Ridge/Eagle Pines Golf Course. The food is good, you usually get seated right away and there are generally no wild screaming kids tearing around. When we can't get into theme park restaurants we go to the Captain's Grille in the Yacht Club. We go to the food court at Port Orleans FQ because it's usually not crowded and you can use the Tables in Wonderland card there.

We have found that most restaurants now offer the same menus with maybe one or two different items. I blame the Disney Dining Plan. If we want variety, we go off property where you have more choices for your money.

Good ideas, Lisa. We should have tried some of these these last two trips. We kept getting lost on the last trip but I did see the raod to the Sand trap.

I have heard good things about Captains Grill. I did not know that the TIW card worked at the POFQ food court. Makes sense as there is no table service restaurant there.

Another that we like is the Japanese restaurant at EPCOT. DH is not fond of it but my girls are.

Got a call this morning from our state representative. She actually called herself instead of her aide. Her family bought a house about 3 doors down from us about a year ago.

Her office contacted DD19 about the Tulane legislaturer scholarship which is a 100% scholarship for tuition. DD19 wrote her last year but it was already promised to an upperclassman who must have finished.

We did not fill out the form with Tulane (missed the cutoff) so they might not allow her to give it to DD19 anyway. Lots of students write letters (we did the past two years to every state senator and representative. She told me she wanted to give it to someone in her distrioct. I am trying not to be too optimistic since there are so many candidates.

Also, I feel a little guilty as she already has two other academic scholarships that cover about 75% of her tuition. I don't want to be greedy, but I guess those scholarships would just go to another deserving type.
I am just glad she is in the running. I thought most of the scholarships were given to the politically connected. I guess there is alot I just don't know.

Got some nice flowers at Lowe's and a local garden center. DH is trying to clear the dead gardenias. Quite a job. So fun picking stuff out. We got a lot of so called perienials. They always seem to die on us. We do better with the bulbs. Oh and I got two amazing hanging baskets that are variegated ivy type geraniums, called the stars and stripes.

Oh my goodness I love them.

DD14 received her letter from the Catholic high scholl. She was put in honors algebra rather than regular algebra or honors geometry. She had it this past year but it was not her best subject so it is probably better she is not going straight to honors geometry. For some odd reason the girls school does not offer regular geometry for Freshmen, while the boys high school does.

She did get in to honors English, honors civics, and honors physical science.

She will be more than challenged, even without the honors geometry, with 4 honors courses.

She is at an all day youth rally today. I hope she is not disappointed with her courses when she gets back home, I actually think she will be satisfied. I was given a reprieve from chaperoning this event. I think they saw how tired I got last Saturday and had pity. ARRGGHHH!

DD19 handled the honors geometry and the honors biology her Freshman year at this school. She was and is a very high achiever. I can't say she really enjoyed it though. No wonder she begged to move to the magnet school. Sophomore year was even worse. She took some but not all honors at the magnet.

I think you can get way too burned out in high school. There are problems with anerexia and other stuff in the high schools around here. I remember working hard but also having a lot of fun in high school. There was no AP back then, but I too went to a smallish magnet school. My class had 33 out of 100 in the total class named national merit finalists, which is not the norm around these parts., especially with public schools.

LMP, hope that letter comes today.

Ann, which color did you pick?
