Happy to oblige, Linda.

Somehow, if I write stuff down, or in this case, type it in, it is more real. Does that sound crazy? It is like I am documenting my life sometimes, not that my life is particularly exciting. You guys are plenty patient. Glad you haven't put me on ignore.

Samantha Brown is the gal who does the commentary about the Disney stuff, that they show on the Disney channels at the world.
She is so very perky, if that is who she is.

Where did you catch the special?

Glad I am not the only one awake this morning. After the mall and the movie last night, I had to go to 3 different girl's houses to pick up their gear (they do not travel light). They were still playing board games at midnight. But they are great girls and quieted down when I ordered it. It helps that we had only 4 girls total rather than 10.

Yawn. These puppies like to go outside early.

DD14 is talking about wanting to go to the public magnet school rather than the $10,000 a year tuition parochial school. I am trying not to influence her but I am gathering that the pettiness of some of the "popular" girls is getting to her. A number of others are planning the same route so she will not be the only one.

Still waiting on the letter from the parochial school anyway, but I cannot imagine that she would not get in.

Maybe I will get to retire earlier than 4 years after all.:thumbsup2

Yes, Samantha Brown is the perky one on the Travel Channel. :cutie: What a job she has! She travels the world over and brings all her fun right to our living rooms! What I love about her is how she's willing to do just about anything and is always a great sport about it. Try to catch the 10 Year Anniversary special - it was broadcast from WDW.

Since DH could only get one day off this week (kids and I were off), we decided to take a "Mystery Trip" on Friday. (We used to do that a lot before we had kids - just drive and go wherever.) We didn't tell them we were staying overnight and secretly packed their things. They were excited when they found out we were getting a hotel room but disappointed thinking they had no bathing suits. ;) Fun to tease them a bit and then let them know we had them right in the back of the car! It wasn't WDW, but it was fun nonetheless.

From Wikepedia:

Travel host

In 1999 and 2000, the Travel Channel was looking for a travel host, and Brown was chosen after a series of auditions. In her role of host, she introduces viewers to vacation destinations and hotels in the United States and around the world, as well as showcasing restaurants and activities at those destinations. [7]

Since joining the network, Brown has hosted several series including Girl Meets Hawaii, Great Hotels, Passport to Europe, Passport to Great Weekends, and Passport to Latin America. She also hosted Great Vacation Homes on the Travel Channel.[4]

In addition to her regular shows, Brown has been the host to Travel Channel specials such as the 2006 all-access special Great Cruises: Freedom of the Seas with Samantha Brown aboard the Freedom of the Seas cruise ship, the largest passenger ship in the world at the time of its launch. Prior to that, she hosted a 12-night Mediterranean Venice cruise aboard the Brilliance of the Seas cruise ship. The accompanying show was entitled Samantha Brown's First Cruise. In 2007, she hosted a special entitled Passport to Green Getaways, a travelogue to three eco-friendly destinations in North America.

In 2007, Brown had two shows in production. In April 2007, Discovery Networks announced that she would host a new series titled Passport to Great Weekends ... With Samantha Brown featuring Brown exploring 48-hour vacation locations in the US and abroad. In September 2007, she was in Beijing, filming Passport to China, which aired in July 2008, just ahead of the Beijing Olympics.[8]

In 2008, Brown debuted Passport to Great Weekends, which showcased her in a more informal light as well as following her on more unique, off-the-beaten-path vacations. Episodes would follow the format of her arrival at a destination on a Friday afternoon and conclude with her leaving on Sunday evening. The second season's title was changed to Samantha Brown's Great Weekends and featured a new introduction, but mostly the same format.

On February 8, 2010, the Travel Channel is presenting "Samantha Brown's 10th Anniversary Special" to commemorate Brown's ten years as host. It is set to premiere at 8:00 EST.

What a cool idea, Linda. You and your DH are fun parents.

An indoor pool, I presume? Where did you travel to?

Any pictures?

Mom is down at my sister's hosue in Grammercy (halfway between here and New Orleans) enjoying the many spendored things associated with my sis's new swim spa. They have been able to use it alot this winter, surprisingly. They crank up the heat over 90 degrees, and my sister wears a wet suit top. Water therapy really makes a difference for her (she has many health issues).

They had talked about just covering it and leaving it until it warmed up but since it is small, the heating apparently is not prohibitive.

The jets are unbelievably strong, and you can get quite the workout swimming against the current. My sister has been a swimmer since her preteen years and with her lousy knees, it is the perfect sport for her.

I hope the water in the Bonnet Creek lazy river is warm for our March trip. The wonderful owner who I am renting from has us booked with a request for an EPCOT view in the newest building close to the newer lazy river.

I will try and take some pics. I have learned a little more how to use my camera since we were there last May.

Good afternoon ladies

Ann - Sounds like you are having a great trip. We have stayed at both the Swan and Dolphin, actually like the Swan better and the govt. discount even better!! Hope you are having great weather

Lisa - I hope your trip is restful and relaxing. You certainly deserve it:) Enjoy ever minute of it!!

Linda - wow that trip sounds like so much fun. I bet their friends will think you are the "coolest" parents after they tell them all about it!!

Laurie - The estimate is about $3200. The guy has to rip something out to see if the radiator is damaged inside too. So ds will eat up the 500 deductible himself and we will see. We have told him any rate increases are his too. Thankfully the car is registered in dh name only. I think ds is just a covered family driver. I guess that one school choice for your dd would save you alot of $, more for college then:)

Dh and I went out to dinner last night. Lets just say it was totally forgetful. I think the waitress couldnt understand my voice in what I ordered. I was just glad to be home after that. I didnt eat the food. Just the soup and salad.

Right now we are watching Sicko from Michael Moore. Ds22 has to watch it for a college class. Wow, all I can say is we are so blessed to have health ins. with my cancer.

I saw a good deal of the Samantha Brown show! She is always ready to try anything and always looks like she enjoys it and has such a good time. I think she lives in Brooklyn, NY. But I bet she is never there most of the time!!
Maybe one day we will hear about college for ds but I am not holding my breath. I think he has just decided to be resigned to the fact of whatever too. He doesnt want to call the admissions office. That is ok with me. He will deal with whatever comes his way.

GTAGWTA. Have a great day.

Just wanted to wish everyone a great week. We're heading out in a little while.

I'm going to Disney World!:cool1:

Just checking in. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Another snowstorm for some - stay safe.

My phlebitis is healing. I think it will take the four weeks like the doctor said, but I see light at the end of the tunnel so that's great. Side effects from chemo continue to show up though. I thought once chemo was over, I would be home free - silly me :lmao:.

I saw some friends this weekend that I hadn't seen for a couple of months. They knew what I was going through but, people forget, they have their own problems. I had my hat on and they asked if I had cut my hair (it was long, blonde and down to my waist). I said no, I have a hat on because I'm bald. They gave me this look of not understanding and then the light bulb went on, they were remembering that I had chemo and it was a look of horror but I burst out laughing and then they did too. It was very funning. I guess you had to be there. :rotfl:

I hope everyone has a good week.

GAGWTA

TJ, glad to hear you are healing. Thanks for giving the update.

Love your sense of humor in the midst of treatment. It will serve you well.

Good morning ladies:)

KJ - I like your sense of humor too. Mine got me through alot of the bumps too

Laurie - I am hoping we get that tuition deduction too this year. We always have so far I think. We dont do our taxes until april. One co. always adjusts their statement to us in march, some kind of investment thing. Its a pain. I just wait because I dont want to file an amended return etc.

Remember I had to tell that guy I was "hot" ladies?, unfortunately it was radiation hot!! (Sharing my cancer humor with you too KJ)

Well ds20 lst court date is tomm. We told him to bring lots of money!! I think he figured with the fines and surcharges it could cost up to about $1,000:scared1: Oh and his precious Emily is suppose to move closer to us:scared1:, hmm, we need that like a hole in the head. She is moving to where ds18 lifeguards and he wasnt sure he wanted to request that condo place this year and now he said he definetely does!! I guess ds20 will be a permanent pool guest there this summer if they move by then.

And speaking of court, I think our lawyer in NJ is suppose to go to court for our property mess with dh cousins this week too against the builder. Dh is telling the lawyer if we dont win, he is not agreeing to fight anymore. We just want to end this thing with his cousins somehow. Its draining after all these years.

My favorite aunt, (not really a relative, just my deceased moms best friend), fell and broke some bone by her hip. She is in alot of pain and will be in the hosp. for 4 days. She is a former nurse so she knows everything medically etc. I think they just want to do physical therapy and no surgery. She is practically blind too from macular degeneration. When she comes home I am going to send her one of those edible arrangements. She could share it with her family when they come to visit etc. and she cant really see the flowers etc. My shoulder is really hurting (frozen etc.). I really cant do the therapy now with no transportation etc. so I am going to do the stuff I can at home and boy we need to do some car shopping but its not a good time right now. So many dealers are out of business etc. What they have is not a good selection.

GTAGWTA. Thinking of you all.

Good morning ladies

:)Oh happy day. Praise God!! Ds tickets got dismissed. Only because the police officer didnt show up. Good because the 4 people in front of him were all found guilty. I told him I was praying really hard. I told him only God was going to help him now anyway. Now if we would only hear about ds 18 college application.

Last night I went out with dh to the grocery store and wal mart. All I can say is ouch. I was crying my stomach hurt so bad. I could actually feel it pulling, really bad. This is not fun. I go back to that surgeon in June, so I guess as long as nothing is literally popping out it should be o.k. Its just the pain I cant stand. 2 tylenol and early to bed for me and that helped.

GTAGWTA. Hope everyone is well.

Cutting our trip short and returning home early tomorrow. Got word yesterday evening that my father passed away suddenly. :sad1:

So no clots?

The clots are still there - seven of them now in one arm. Those are permanent, from what I've been told. At least it's only in one arm so far. I do wonder what happens if the veins continue to clot throughout my body :lmao:.

MaryAnn - I'm so sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. My heart goes out to you. I can never feel sorry for myself, I think about what others are going through and I realize that my challenges are nothing and doable and I need to be grateful for the blessings I have and things are just not that bad. I hope you get some relief soon.

I got my tatoo's and radiation verification today. Rads start on Thursday.

GAGWTA.

How very sad, Ann.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your sisters. It must be very hard to lose both parents in such a short period of time.
