Thanks for the warm welcome! I really appreciate it.

Gotta ask, what's GAGWTA? I'm a little slow on these things...

Greetings And Good Wishes To All....

as in:

Sorry if I don't reply to each and every post. But you're all in my thoughts and prayers.

jessaboo..my sister had a phyllodes tumor, it went from barely palpable to 10 centimeters in weeks. This was a couple of years after my DCIS treatment, so it was a scary time. She had a lumpectomy and is followed very closely by the surgeon as they can have a tendency to recur but are usually benign.
Snappy and Sha met her, when she and my other sister joined me for Race for the Cure in Orlando in 2008. Great memories from that trip!

Awesome. I'm glad she's being followed up.
There isn't any explanation for a phyllodes.
It sucks. Mine were malignant both times.
:surfweb:

I love this board.

:welcome: Honugirl - I think I read your comments on the cowboy co's thread about little Claire and how we were telling him to tell his cousin to find another hosp. and keep on fighting. I know you are a fighter and I admire your strength, we all have to keep up the fight.

Well ladies you all can have a nice old big virtual piece of my :cake: because we are going to be having a big ol party:, yup ya'll guessed it...the radiation oncologist told us yest. that the nuclear scan was great and it only showed a little bit of tissue left which if it decides to turn itself into cancer it can't because the radiation in me will kill it, but it could take 6 moyths for the whole process to work, so right now its basically cancer free and I am cautiously optomistic. I just praise God for blessing me and hearing everyones prayers. Of course dh and the 3 ds were ecstatic. I have some mixed feelings becaue the one dr. already told me it will most likely come back in 3 years since its so agressive etc. the rad. oncl. said she will see me in 6 months, they will know if it comes back even if the lymph nodes dont start popping out on my neck again. The blood tests will look for a certain number and if it increases that is the bad sign. I just had a blood test this week and another one will be at the end of July. So with this cancer its just wait and watch.

Alice - I am wishing you all the best at your drs. appt. Oh, dh got a 530 on the math section of the sat. Hmm, I think that is just average with no prep course etc.

Thinking of all our sistas in the world this week end and hearing its raining alot there.

Well its almost time to change the wonderful draining wound dressing, so I am sending GTAGWTA of you! Blessings to you all and have a great week end.

That is great to hear!!! I hope that you will be the rare case where it doesnt return.

GAGWTA! Hi everyone, I have been reading and thinking of you all. I have really great news, my dad's bladder cancer is NOT invasive!:cool1::worship::banana::love: I am so relieved. He had his surgery last week, and although the tumor had started to regrow from the last surgery it is NOT in the muscle wall and thus very treatable. Thats a good thing considering his heart issues. We are elated.

Hubby, kids and I are headed to disney for a quick visit.. Two days at the Yacht Club on a great military rate, we may just lounge by the pool and relax. I am looking forward to it. I have a ten page paper to write for my graduate class tonight and tomorrow, then we leave. YEA!

I am slowly getting out of my funk but am thinking about asking for some anti-depressents. I am still really so sad.:confused3 One day at a time!

Yea for all the good news!! :wizard:

Welcome to honugirl! :goodvibes and Hello/GAGWTA to all old friends!

Life has been crazy busy, but good.

I was in a funk yesterday, though. My brother had a strange thing happen with his hands (swelling) and nobody could figure out what the problem was. They did a lot of different tests. A chest CT showed a spot on his lung, which they now have to work up.

We'd been waiting to hear his results for a few days, and he called me while I was in a store yesterday. It was the strangest feeling, like I was numb, and all the thoughts went out of my brain. I just kind of wandered around the store not knowing what to do or how to feel. I was on the verge of crying, but couldn't; like it was stuck. Very strange feeling. I imagined it was how he felt when I was going through my situation.

He was a heavy smoker for many years, but successfully quit a few years ago. Of course he's beating himself up about it now, but I reassured him he just has to look forward. The good news is that whatever it is is very small, and fortunately, the swelling in his hands helped discover it. I told him that mysterious swelling must have been a blessing in disguise.

If you guys who pray could keep him in your prayers, it would be much appreciated. We're supposed to see him tonight. My mother, of course, is a mess. He's still her baby (who never married) and she still worries about him all the time.

Off to baseball. DS just made his third team. :faint: Luckily we all enjoy the sport. :rotfl2:

He will be front and center in my prayers..waiting is so hard.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.. I am at my office because its the only place I can concentrate and churn out this final project. Its only due tomorrow...call me LAST MINUTE ANNIE! We head to Orlando tomorrow, early, 6 a.m ish. Breakfast on the road and then relaxation. I am hoping it does not rain, its been a monsoon down here this past week. The screen on our porch blew out from the wind. Hurricane season is upon us. :worship::scared1::rolleyes1

You are all in my thoughts!:grouphug:

Thanks, Maureen.

In my paper writing days, I always worked best under pressure. :lmao:

Am envious of your upcoming YC stay. :cloud9: Have a wonderful time. It must be so nice to be nearby!

GAGWTA everyone!

Thanks for the warm welcome. :flower3:

I' busy battling with the labs now. They've had one of my samples for a week now. Originally they were going to be done on Tuesday, then it was Wednesday, then Friday, now apparently they have to re-run it so it'll be done on TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!!! I really need these numbers so I know if I"m testing at the correct time. It's killing me.

But on the up side, I rode my horse yesterday for the first time since surgery. It felt good. A little disappointing since I"m used to being able to do all sorts of fancy stuff and I can barely manage the walk/trot/canter. Not sure if I'll go back out again today. I really love her though.

What kind of horse Honugirl? There is a pet thread that you can post pics

I have a gorgeous palomino quarter horse. She's 25. She lives at my trainer's barn and teaches the little kids how to ride. When I'm feeling good I can go ride her too (which lately hasn't been too often unfortunately...)

She sounds beautiful and so nice to share that love with kids. Hope you are back with her on a regular basis soon.

Thanks Sha! She's gorgeous. I'll try to post a pic later. She just adores the kids... either that or she adores the treats she gets from them... ha ha ha.

I don't like holiday weekends. They had to rerun one of my lab tests on Saturday which means I won't get the results until Tuesday and it's absolutely killing me. Even the ativan isn't helping...

I haven't been around much these last few days. They've been too busy but hopefully this next week it'll all settle back to normal.

Let's see, how can I try to catch up briefly? Welcome new members to our thread. (I'm very jealous. I've always wanted to own a horse!) Yay for good results! Crossing my fingers for good news to continue and for one surgery instead of two. GAGWTA to the rest of you.

DD graduated Friday night. Everything went well and we had a little party after. I only teared up a little. My baby is almost grown up, but I'm expecting good things. So I'm trying to remember to look forward instead of back.

We got a new refrigerator. Found one on clearance that was perfect for us, so no more buying bags of ice (our ice maker was broken). I'm in love. It's bigger than our old one. It's got french doors and the freezer on the bottom...so less standing on my head to get at what I need. The only bad thing is we had some wall board damage behind the old fridge and DH decided to fix it while we had everything pulled out. That's good. But it was sort of musty and got my allergies all messed up. I've had a headache and puffy eyes all day today. Swell.

Tomorrow we celebrate DH's birthday. I don't have a single gift for him yet. His birthday isn't until later this week, but I feel terrible about it. It just seems that we've been so busy with graduation. I told him I owe him.

Hope everyone is having a great long weekend. I'm enjoying mine, if this dang headache would just go away.

Sounds like you had quite the weekend! I love when fridge's have the freezer on the bottom. :thumbsup2

I finally broke down today and bought a doggie backpack for my dogs. I take one for a walk at a time around the neighborhood so they switch out on the backpack. I don't feel as timid about going out now. The backpack is big enough for me to fit my cell phone, my emergency info card, my emergency meds, and a bottle of water. I feel much safer. Even though they're not trained service dogs, at least when I go out alone like that I know that I have everything if something went wrong. It's just so hard to control a purse and a dog, etc. I really hate fanny packs, so that's out. I think secretly it made them behave differently too since now they're "working".

:daisy: Good morning ladies, Hope you all had a great week end

Linda - praying for your db

Melissa - You must be on :cloud9: about your dd. Congratulations!!!

Honugirl - Your horse and dogs are beautiful. Hope you get your labs back today.

Maureen - Hope you had a good trip. I read on another thread that they had to close stormalong bay down for a while due to some kids um, potty incidents.

We saw Angels and Demons sat. It was different for sure. If you see the lst 10 minutes that is a glimpse into stuff my dh does. Way beyond my comprehension for sure. Good news - Alyssa may be able to come home tomm. And now later today I am taking dh for his colonoscopy. He is having the same dr. I did and they are doing it in the office. I hope all goes well. Dh just thought it would be a good thing to do. Frid. I m taking ds19 to my ENT surgeon for his evaluation. Hopefully he can operate and get out his polyp and fix the deviated septum. Ds said he is getting tired of breathing through his mouth all the time, etc. Hmm, 2 doctors visits this week and not for me, yeah!!

I am waiting to get the call about my pre op testing which should be soon I guess as mon. it will be 2 weeks before the surgery etc.

GTAGWTA - Hope everyone is o.k. Thinking of you all.

GTAGWTA! Hope you all had a great weekend!

I am feeling well today! It wasn't as bad this time. Maybe it was the extra day. I am still tired but not as woozy. I was actually sitting around on the computer Sat & Sun.

LF- I always was a last minute writing. Enjoy your trip especially after a 10 page report. It's well deserved! Disney can always lift your spirits.

PNM- Prayers for you and your family!

LMP- Good News about the tissue! :cheer2: We will take it! I know what you mean about Dr. appt and not being yours

Honu- Here's to better days w/o treatment ailments. Your dogs and Horse are so cute!

MP-Glad all went well at the graduation. Isn't it true that everything seems to come at you at once.

:hug:Hugs to Jessaboo and Sha.

You are all my girls!

My DH put together the grill and finished it late last night! :rotfl2: We couldn't cook out anyway but it looks so nice and shiny! After my last treatment for this period, I will try it out.

My DS returned from NY unscathed! He was excited and shocked by some things! He told me many stories about the characters that live there. He brought me a necklace from China town that has the character for Hope on it. He can be such a sweet kid.

My DD spent the weekend with my sister and took a spill on a scooter! Got nice brush burns on her arm. My sister felt so bad. My daughter gave me an update on it every night she called to check on me. I love my kids.

GAGWTA.

Hey all.
I'm feeling worse today, and I don't know why. I have an endoscopy for GI problems, and they're taking pieces of my stomach and liver. Possibly my kidneys.

I lost my job at the bead shop that I was working at because I was gone for too many days, and because they are downsizing.

Where is a good place to be employed in Columbus, Ohio for a 20 year old?!
AH.

I feel like I'm going nowhere sometimes.:guilty::sad2:

Hi everyone. I just got back yesterday from my quickie at WDW. We stayed at the Yacht club and loved the pool. Had a great time and even went down the water slide. Epcot was super busy on Monday and unfortunately very dirty. Where are all the maintenance people? Oh well. We ate at Cape May (did NOT like it there because of the gross food habits of some people who put their hands on the food..and I am not talking about kids!). OY!:confused3:scared1:

Laurie and I played phone tag but could not catch each other. Next time!

We are headed back in June for a weekend and then October and December. I still LOVE LOVE LOVE Disney. I will just skip the buffets!

GAGWTA!

Welcome and BEAUTIFUL animals! What sweeties!

Thanks for the warm welcome! :thumbsup2
