:wave2: :wave2: GTAGWTA Good Morning Ladies

Well yes, the unthinnkable has happened, what is the thing about Murphy's Law. Dh had missed his connection in Las Vegas last night. Of course he called the house and I refused to talk to him after I found out why he missed the plane. Short version" souvenier shopping, something we have gone over before like no junk in the house etc. So last I heard he was flying into Baltimore, sleeping overnight in the airport and suppose to arrive around 8 am. I did tell him to get a taxi. Maybe he will ask ds to pick him up.

So everything I wanted to say in private with him will now be said in front of the ds. O.K. nothing I can do about it now. Its water under the bridge, but lets just say he is in the dog house for sure. :rotfl2:

I have to be at the hospital at 11:45, the exact time ds17 gets out of school. We will work out a pick up plan for him, depending upon which ds can get him etc. DS 21 is taking off his classes today he said, ds19 is going to his, but they are right by the hospital.

Tuffcookie will give you a little update tomm.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers and encouragement always. You ladies are the best!!!! Blessings to you all.

Have a great trip Laurie and Maureen. I heard from a friend who is staying at the Saratoga this week and the weather has been grand. They did come down with that nasty bug also and have not been out of their room for 3 days!!

Linda - so glad you had a nice time and I hope your DH is feeling better. Sorry you had a bumpy ride home.

Laura - hope your DH is doing well. He will feel so much better after he has the procedure done!!

GAGWTA to all of you.

Barbara

I'm thinking of you, LMP. You'll be in my prayers tomorrow. Hope your DH gets home without any more hitches.

Safe travels to our Disney bound ladies.

Tomorrow looks to be a busy day for me. The roads are mostly clear, but not in our neighborhood. DD is headed to Tulsa with her choir for the day to perform at some conference. She's afraid to drive on ice, so I'll drop her at school and have to go back to get her after midnight tomorrow night. What we don't do for our kids, right?

I have a big Boy Scout District Awards ice cream social that I'm in charge of tomorrow night. Comes as a part of my new volunteer job, that I forgot how to say no to. :rotfl: Thank goodness DH and DS have offered to help me tomorrow. I need their moral support. I'll be dancing a jig tomorrow night when it's over. After that my job will be pretty easy until next fall or so it seems.

Hi, all,

I just got a call from luvmarypoppin's DH.

Here is the condensed version:

She had a very tough night at the hospital. During surgery she started hemmoraging real bad. She was given 4 units of blood.

They were able to figure out the problem and fix it.

She is currently on a ventilator and is sedated.

She had the tumor removed, along with her thyroid, lymph nodes, and anything else the doctor's saw as suspect.

She will probably be in the hospital for a week.

They will know more about the biopsied tissue in about 3 days.

We need to continue to keep luvmarypoppins and her dear family in our prayers.

If anyone would like to send get well wishes to her, please send me a pm and I'll give you her address.

TC:cool1:

Thanks for updating us TuffCookie. I'll definitely be thinking and praying for LMP and her family. Sounds like a tough surgery.

Hope Maureen and Laurie have wonderful getaways. And bug-free. Sounds rather chilly (for FL) at night these days there, maybe that will kill some of the germs ;) Best that they (the germs) are gone before I get there middle of next week!! I am so ready to get out of the snow and cold. Even if it in the 40's at night that is 40-50 degrees warmer than the nights here.

Busy weekend ahead here with lots of errands and household stuff to do. Thinking of you all.......

GAGWTA

Thanks TC. Glad they're keeping LMP a few days. She remains in my prayers. Please let us know if you hear more.

My award ceremony is over and everyone said it went well. I'm elated. If my feet weren't so sore, I'd do a happy dance for all of you. This will have to do instead. :cool1:

Hugs to all of you. GAGWTA.

My thoughts and best wishes are with luvmarypoppins. I hope she recovers from surgery quickly and gets good news from the biopsy.

I am at disneyworld now and just wanted everyone to know its FREEZING. Not cold...FREEZING. I am seriously sitting in the room while my family sleeps wrapped up in a lands end fuzzy robe and a blanket. My blood must have thinned since living in Florida....:confused3

I hope they sell gloves and hats here. I am also developing a cold, but even a cold at COLD walt disney world is better than being at home doing laundry..:rotfl2: :cool1:

Please think of my dad...he was hospitalized over new years with blood in his urine and they found a "polyp" and took a biopsy. He has to have it removed on 2/16 and we will know next week if it was cancerous. He has a heart condition and I worry about the toll treatment would take on him, God FORBID. I just don't know what else we can take as a family. He is in good spirits, very positive. So thats good.

More later, we are determined to have a good weekend.

GAGWTA!

They do. Black ones. :rotfl2: Hopefully it will warm up for you like it finally did for us! Will keep your Dad in my prayers.

Tuffcookie, Cindy- Thanks for the update on Maryann. I sent you a PM.

Maureen- Thinking of your dad and sending up prayers.

Linda- I'm sorry to hear about your hubby. Is there a surgery in his future?
I am so grateful that hubby can get the pacemaker and we are hoping that alone will make him feel better.

The steroids are taking a toll on me. I am not myself to say the least. Saw my GI doc yesterday. I am still in remission as of right now. I am hoping and praying I stay there. If not, I think I'm done fighting the UC battle.
:grouphug:

Laura  If you want to talk, you know where to find me.

No surgery that we know of. They said it could take up to two weeks for the steroid injection to work. I don't know. He's still in a lot of pain.

Did I mention that at least he got his bag back? They delivered it to our doorstep at 9pm the next night. It must have gotten pulled for search.

I am so missing being in FL right now. Our trip went by way too fast.

GAGWTA, Ladies!

Many good thoughts for Maryann!

Hugs to Maureen and Laura! :grouphug:

I am back from my slumber party at Great Wolf Lodge! Can I just tell you all how happy I am NOT to have sextuplets? Those 6 boys wore me out! :faint:

It did warm up today and there was not a cloud in the sky. Absolutely beautiful! I got to spend some time with Laurie/Snappy and her beautiful daughter. It was a great day!

More later, I am glad that I came. I love disney!:cool1:

We just got back home at 10 pm, what a time!!

Tired puppies though.

What a highlight meeting Maureen, her DH, and daughter and son. Maureen is amazing. Funny but it was as if I had known her all my life. We enjoyed a good long visit at EPCOT. Took a look at her handsome son and am plotting ways to get her and DD13 together one day. Ha! Her daughter is also just absolutely precious.

Seriously, though I was so impressed with Maureen's son's attitude. It was so very un teenage like. No attitude.
What a breath of fresh air.

We skirted the intestional sickness somehow. The trip went fast for me too, Linda. But I can tell it has helped me loads in the perking me up department.

We did a number of new things this trip as well as some old favorites. It was a great mother daughter bonding experience. As fast as DD13 is growing up, we need to make every one count.

She was so very cooperative and appreciative. It really made me feel good all round.

Saying a prayer for LMP.

:drive:~~~***GAGWTA sistas***~~~ :car:

Laurie- I'm glad you and your dd had such a good trip! How did you like CBR?

Maureen- It sounds like you have terrific kids! Glad it warmed up for you too!

Thanks for being here sistas. For those who don't know, I have been in experimental treatment for Ulcerative Colitis (an autoimmune disease, a post-cancer/chemo bonus) for a long time now. There are some other experimental Immune Suppressant drugs my GI doc could try, but they are not without lots of risk, nothing new there. Every IS drug I take, I need to take steroids with it, in order to allow the IS drugs to start working, they all seem to take 1-3 months to fully work. Basically the steroids are what's making me well, until I stop, then after a short time, I'm sick again. This pattern has been repeating itself for years now. Unfortunately, I can't stay on Prednisone forever, physically and mentally it is already affecting me. I thankfully have only had a couple of really nasty days, but that's enough. I told him if I fail the Methotrexate, I'm done. Total colectomy is the cure and I won't need to take drugs and I will feel better. I promised hubby none of this will happen until he has recovered from his surgery. I could be in the hospital for quite a while depending on how all of this plays out. It would be best if I were not on steroids when I have surgery. I read a little more about the surgery and living with the ileostomy and I feel better about it. I know I can get used to anything. What's one more body part off this old junker...right?:rotfl:

I love this C.S. Lewis quote...it's good to be reminded of the truth of it!:goodvibes
:grouphug:

I am saying a prayer for you and your family too, Laura, with your husband's upcoming surgery-this week, right?

And also your potential surgery.

I know you have been fighting the UC tooth and nail, it is not that you are surrendering, you are changing tactics.

Your attitude is inspiring.

DD 13 and I loved CB. I was obsessing a bit about getting the right area, and did not get the all desired Aruba building 51 or Jamaica 45. They initially put us in Aruba 56 and it was too far out and the cheerleaders were over there as well.

I politely asked for anything in Jamaica and got 46. We could see both Wishes and EPCOT fireworks through the trees from the wide walkway outside our room. I was amazed how close it is to both parks but it is considered an EPCOT resort and now I see why. I definitely liked the side of the resort we were on.

It was just a little further (negligible) from the walkway across the lovely lake to the big pool and food court. Very nice landscaping. I would ask for this area again and be just as please with the building we got.

The room had been redone and was larger than I expected.

We had an extremely thorough and seet mousekeeper. She was well tipped.

There is a wonderful lake in the middle of the resort, we rented a sky racer and DD13 had a blast driving it all around for an hour. We also made use of the hammocks on the Jamaica beach area, lounging, reading, and I had a beer or two.

Very happy with the bus service too.

It was so quiet that I thought no one was in the resort but was shocked when we went to the food court and saw everyone. We were close to the place I parked my rental car so that helped. Some noise from the street that passes around but I drowned it out with the ceiling fan and A/C heater blower.

We had a wonderful sightseeing trip to Animal Kingdom lodge and the ultimate experience dinner at Cali Grill.

I will have to post about those later as DH's office has moved, he can't take DD13 to school anymore so I am going to. My mornings just got more complicated.

DH (he is a sweetie) took DD13 to school after all so I have time to post.

I really wanted DD13 to see AKL and I have been unable to get anyone else to go with me over there as they are all hell bent on riding rides, not visiting resorts.

I have to say it seemed a long dark drive over there ( should have gone during the day) but it was worth it. Once we finally got to the parking lot and parked we walked all around. I was really impressed with the building, the looks and smells of BOMA, and the landscaping and pool area.

DEfinitely need to stay there sometime for a day or two in concierge and do the sunrise safari.

We were able to get the ultimate window table overseeing the MK at dusk Saturday night. We lingered over our dinner (they did not rush us) until 7 pm and saw the entire sunset and all the lights going on in MK and the castle doing it color changing thing.

DD13 loved the food (especially the creme brulee!)

It was the best meal I have had at WDW.
