Laura - Yes, the party is still on. Our weather is supposed to be completely clear by Friday afternoon when we pick up the boys. :thumbsup2
Yes, I have a new tag. I've never had a Jello shot. It was just a discussion. I should be more careful what I post...

:wave2: GTAGWTA Good afternoon ladies.

Well 2 more days and hopefully I will be breathing like my old self again. Just hope I dont get any other little post surgery surprises, the stuff you have to sign for, numbness, droopy eye, cut facial nerves etc, etc. Enough of that!!

O.K. Melissa - we are getting ready for the storm that you, Elizabeth and Laura are getting. I think my dh is flying back through Las Vegas tomm. night, so he should be following the storm which should have wound down by then. He arrives about 11:30 pm.

Elizabeth - Hope the party turns out great

Laura - Thinking of your dh and praying his surgery will go well

Laurie - Thanks for your good wishes always

Thinking of Carol :beach: I want sunshine!!! too!

Have a great time on your trips to Disney. My secret is to meet the Beast one day and get a picture, hmm, right now I am batteling the other beast!!:)

I will try to post tomm. Helps keep my mind off of things and I am having Tuffcookie post something on friday, later on for sure.

Blessings to you all, You are such a great group of ladies!!!

GAGWTA, Ladies!

Maryann - I have been thinking of you! I hope everything goes well with your surgery! pixiedust: I hope your DH doesn't have any travel delays!

All of you with this crummy weather stay safe and warm!

The school canceled after school activities so DS won't have to stay for Band practice. We'll see how things progress as the evening wears on.

JSG, I didn't realize you guys were being hit with all of this. Stay safe. I bet most of the rest of you will get snow. (Ours started out as snow that melted and refroze on the way down.)

We have mostly changed over to sleet. School is out again tomorrow for DD. DS and DH haven't heard if they have to go anywhere tomorrow. But the more sleet we get the better off we'll probably be. Under the sleet we have ice that's like glass from the freezing rain.

DD's knee is feeling a little better. I'm thinking she'll wear the stablizer this week and then give it a go without. If it's not any worse than it is now, I don't think we'll get her rechecked.

So far it's not too bad, but I think it is going to get worse. DH just got home with DS, I am still at work.
They won't decide about DS's school being closed until around 6 AM tomorrow. Dallas ISD HATES to close, even if it puts the kids in danger.

I am glad DD's knee seems to be improving! I hope she will be able to go without the stabilizer soon! pixiedust:

Well our big weather event is practically non-existent right now. It stopped snowing hours ago, but supposedly we'll be getting more, then mixing with ice..hope not! I have 2 appts. at the hospital tomorrow morning- my final study visit for a trial I'm doing and my monthly GI visit. I'll ditch him in a NY min. if the weather's bad!

Here's some more :beach: for us!

Laurie- I'm so glad to hear Claudette is doing better. I meant to post to you earlier. When do you leave for WDW?

Maryann- You sound good! Isn't that funny...I've called cancer the beast for years, but I have never thought of it that way! Yes, he is the good Beast, not the evil one!!! I see the Beast just about every trip, around France in Epcot. I'm on a mission to meet Tinkerbell next trip! :tinker: You are in my thoughts and prayers...

Melissa- I'm glad your kids are off and you can stay in. Sounds like your dd is doing well.

Elizabeth- Yes, you have to be careful what you say here! I bet that water park will be an extra big hit after the yucky weather this week.

We are leaving early in the am.

Looks like tomorrow will be nice, then some rain Thursday, colder afterwards.

Laurie, Have a great trip. send us all some :beach: and if you see the "other" Beast, tell him I said Hi!!!:thumbsup2

Laurie be extra careful... there is a really bad bug going around at WDW. 20-30 ppl being seen by Docs down there. I evidently have it, but it took 2 days to get me. Lots of hand washing, sanitizer, not touching things or face, and LOTs of fluids. I havent had a temp/fever yet, but that is one thing along with nausea/vomiting, coughing and diarrhea.

Have a magical trip!
One of the guys on the Photo boards just came back and his whole family ended up with that virus during their trip. Apparently it is highly contagious. :scared:

:beach: ~~~***GAGWTA sistas***~~~:beach:

Laurie- ugh, that bug sounds nasty. I know you'll be careful. Have a safe and magical trip! pixiedust: I hope you have beautiful weather...

We got ice. School is closed again. We live in a neighborhood with an elementary school, so we'll get plowed sooner than most side streets, but I haven't seen one yet this morning. I have to drive miss daisy, I mean hubby:rotfl: to the train, but not on ice. I'll wait on the plow. It's supposed to turn to rain later.
:grouphug:

Laurie, have a good trip down to Florida! I too am nervous about the bug, I plan on cloroxing my hotel room and using hand sanitizer all day long. My friend at work just got back and was fine, so hopefully it will be okay!

We leave on Friday. Can't wait!:cool1:

GAGWTA, Ladies! :cool1:

We are having an ice day, but I am waiting to hear what time I have to go to work so I am up. Waste of perfectly good sleeping hours. :sad2: DH got to drive all the way to work on ice at 3:30 this morning, but he made it safely.

Laurie - Have an amazing time at WDW! pixiedust:

Maureen - I hope you have an amazing time at WDW, too!! :goodvibes (Just in case I miss you before you leave!)

I can't believe I am just now finding this thread!:thumbsup2

Good morning everyone!:wave2:

luvmarypoppins, Prayers being said that your surgery goes the best possible way!:goodvibes

TC:cool1:

Just back from WDW. Had a nice trip. We have a good storm going right now, heavy snow and ice. School cancelled today which the kids were quite happy about, we didn't get home until after midnight last night after a turbulent flight home. :faint: One of our bags was lost, too. Uggh.

Unfortunately, DH was in a lot of pain. Not sure I mentioned that a few weeks ago he slipped on the stairs and had days he could barely walk. Well MRI showed two bulging discs compressing the main nerve to his leg. He had a procedure the day before we left to inject a steroid sideways into the nerve sheath. Doc said he could go on trip, but he had to try to take it easy, which he did. Still in pain though, for the most part. Still managed to have as good a time as he could. Poor guy. To make matters worse, the bag they lost was his - with all his cherished Disney shirts. :guilty: I hope we can find it.

Laura, I usually tell my patients that if I could pick one thing that I had to have, it would be a pacemaker. :thumbsup2 Many people have them that you don't even realize. One of our nurses had one placed when she was 18yo - I often have her come and talk to people that have to have them done as talking to her is really reassuring. The beta blockers will slow him down but the pacemaker will keep his heart rate steady, if he needs it. They usually program it so it only paces if the heart slows down too much. The technology has come a long way. Good luck to him. I'm glad they figured it out.

Kept you all in my heart while I was away. :grouphug:

Welcome, TC. :wave2:

:wave2: :wave2: Good morning ladies!!

Linda - I am glad you had a great trip.

Laurie and Maureen - do you have any extra room in your suitcases for any of us ?:rotfl2:

Elizabeth - Know you are at work. When we lived in Texas we always wondered why they would never salt or sand the roads during ice etc. Our friend sent us the Dallas Morning News picture with the car that had the words written in snow on them. Funny. He is originally from NY too and lives in Dallas. They just bought a house on McKambry or something like that. Our other friend lives right on McKinney ave. Says in his bldg. are a lot of the lawyers for the Cowboys.

Laura - your weather sounds like ours. Are you in the Northeast?

Well ds19 went to college, of course he said the roads were terrible. Ds21 has class around 3 and then ds17 had to go do his regents. You can see my thread. What a mess. The public school has a 2 hour delay, but his private school is closed, so no bus transportation but he must report to the school to take this NY state exam. So he got a ride, Praise the Lord, because there is no way I could take him and not worry about getting in an accident and getting my surgery postponed etc.

I will give a little update later, hoping dh will be able to fly home tonight and later they will call with the surgery arrival time etc. That is suppose to be after 4 when the nurse will call. Sure glad it was not today. What a mess the roads are etc.

Welcome home, Linda! :goodvibes Did you get some good pics? I know DH will be looking forward to you posting them on the Oly thread!
Your poor DH! I hope his back feels better and that they can find his bag! pixiedust:

Maryann - Dallas is just stupid when it ices. EVERYBODY is "essential personnel" so EVERYBODY has to get on the roads. DH had to buy a bag of cat litter to get his work truck out of the loading dock. He is working over in Arlington today, which is worse off than Dallas.

DS is out of school today, but I only got a 45 minute delay for work. We drove in topping out at 25 mph. It was quite tedious, but we arrived safely. Conditions are supposed to improve later today.

I hope your DH is able to get home without any delays!

Welcome TC. :wave2:

Welcome home Linda. Sorry your DH is having back pain.

Safe travels to Laurie and Maureen. I'm jealous.

Our weather is much improved. It's going to top out at 32 today and with lots of sunshine the ice is melting. I'm very nervous about what it's going to be like tomorrow though. It's not getting warm enough for much of this to disappear, so we'll probably have lots of black ice tomorrow. :scared:

I still haven't even scraped the ice off my car. I'm not intending to go out until I have to... which may be tomorrow morning if school is back in session. I don't particularly want DD to drive in this (not to mention walking across the icy parking lot with her bad knee).

Thinking good thoughts for all of you. GAGWTA!
