Oh Kelly. I'm so sorry. We're here for you when you need us. You're in my prayers.
As is Beth.
:grouphug:

snappy!! Good for you....sounds like a great time :thumbsup2 My DD and I are doing a 4 night mom/dau trip in May when she gets out of school.

Linda....thanks for keeping us updated on the little :earsgirl: Makes me smile and teary at the same time.

I go to see "Dr Hottie" ;) tomorrow afternoon (med oncologist) for a check up and refill of the study drug bottles. Been 6 months on whatever it is.....54 to go ;) I'm a bit nervous...in the last month or so have felt some changes in a couple of spots on the radiated side, and seems a bit more shrunken overall as well... so am looking forward to the checkupand thinking positive thougths that it's all normal.

GAGAWTA!!

Kelly, Beth, you both are in my prayers. Please keep fighting, keep up that courage. You done it in the past, you WILL again, honest, you both WILL.'s for you both.

Beth, I'm so sorry :grouphug: My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thank you everyone for your thoughtful prayers and wishes.

I see the surgeon on Fri. I'm sure the biopsy will be early next week.

Bone and CT scans are sched. for Tues.

Won't know those results until I go back to the onc. on the 14th.

I'll keep you posted.

Kelly

Beth, I am so sorry you and your family are facing this again. Please know I will continue to pray for you and for you to win this battle too. I think it is safe to say that we are all behind you. As Dan said, you are a survivor.
I know your wonderful husband will be there for you.

Kelly, thanks for updating us. Praying for you as well.

Hugs, Beth and Kelly. Here's sending you some strength and positive thoughts.

Allison

More prayers going out for Beth and Kelly. Know that we are thinking about both of you. Hang in there!

More :grouphug: and prayers Beth and Kelly.

Thanks Snappy, Dr Hottie was as cute as ever, and the appt went well except for them running late...O should've known to call before I left work...I'd have rather stayed another 20-30 minutes at work instead of sitting inthe waiting room. First I spoke with the NP who coordinates the clinical trials, we did the "bottle swap" and I got my next 6 month supply of the study drugs. Then doc comes in and he asks all of the detailed "side effect" questions for the study...but really the only thing I have to say to them is about the stiffness and achiness in my legs. I had him check the 2 areas I was a little antsy about....he didn't find anything worrisome but said to monitor the one spot that has sort of a "ridge" for changes - and mention it to the surgeon next time I see her. Since that one is a spot I've had the surgeon double check before (plus the fact it's always been sort of a "grainy" areas) we're chalking it up to the radiation effects ..and I see the surgeon in early March, right after I have a mammo.

Tonight...I'm escaping reality by the diversion of "reality" TV....yes, I have always been a "Survivor" watcher...how appropriate is that? ;) :teeth:

Never thought about it that way. Perfect!!

Been busy here catching up on homework. DD10 aces almost everything so I did not feel too concerned about taking her out of school for 5 days.
One day was mostly taken up with mass and a retreat anyway (which she is sad she missed). She never missed a stride with math or spelling, but oh that science and Social studies. Science is all about electricity and electric circuits and SS is about the Revolutionary times. So many names and a few dates to remember. Not to mention two projects, an invention plus a writeup on it and a Revolutionary bill board, whatever that is about. At least we have a little extra time to complete stuff.

I will have to say she has been great about it. She loves being back in class with her friends, she was ready to leave WDW a day early if you can believe it. I thought her teacher was p.o.'d at me, but I was wrong. In fact she is planning her family's first ever WDw trip next Feb. during Mardi Gras. I offered to help her with ideas. :teeth: The least I could do.

GAGWTA....and TGIF ladies!

One of my support group friends had the first part of her nipple recon today. She's a true survivor too...a single mom of 2 teens in her early 40's...her mom had both breast and ovarian cancer and died from the ovarian. Her older sister is a 5 year br ca survivor. She found a breast lump last spring, opted for the bilateral mast with immediate reconstruction (impllants) and a prohylactic oophorectomy. They discovered ovarian cancer as well. SHe says now that she's getting her hair back and is feeling mroe like herself she decided to get nipples too :teeth:

Hope you all enjoy Superbowl weekend (even if you're not a football fan) have fun and good food with your families!!

Hi everyone

Just wanted to give an update. I went to the surgeon today, he did a FNA and found it is cancer again. I have to go next week for my scans and a visit with the plastic surg. The surg wants to remove all the remaining tissue around the scar and rescrape the area for remaining breast tissue. He wants to do a lat. flap at the same time to bring fresh tissue to the area incase I need rad again. He will do a node mapping to see if there is any node involvement. Now I just have to wait and see when they are going to sched. the surg. It looks like the week of the 20th, that's so far away. :confused3 I would have never guessed I'd have two recurrs after the mast. Goes to show you, you never know. I'm just hoping it hasn't metastisised!!! I'm really angry this time :furious: I just hate to have this thing in me for another 3 weeks or so, I'm hoping they may move me up. The pres day holiday doesnt help.

Have a good weekend everyone. We had 12" of rain today.

Kelly

Kelly that stinks! I'm so sorry you are having to go through this again. But we'll be here for you. Just remember you are tough and you are a survivor. You can beat this again. Lots of hugs and prayers that they'll move your surgery up.

I'm so sorry sista...dang.
I'm praying that it is confined and hasn't spread.
And continuing prayers for Beth too.
What a week... :sad2:

I'm sorry, Kelly. I admire your attitude and resolve. :thumbsup2 I agree, it's been quite a week around here. Thinking about you guys a lot and saying extra prayers as well. I had a lot of sick patients this week too - one of those weeks I guess. :worried:

So sorry, Kelly, you have to face this again. Praying they can move up the surgery date. Now you have to get through those scans. Please come here whenever you need to talk. This is tough going through this again, especially in a new city with new docs.

It is times like this I am so grateful for this thread. I always hope and pray for only good results, but when it doesn't happen, at least we have our Survivor thread. I check it more often than I like to admit to see who has weighed in. I post about alot of stuff other than cancer, and your support helps with all my "issues." I think writing about them helps me put things in perspective when I am overwhelmed.

Support groups are great (Ann, hope your sista did well with her surgery yesterday), but this thread is like a lifeline that is always available, not just once a month. Thanks again, Laura and Linda.

Laurie
