One more day 'til Disney sistas!!! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo I'm taking Cold Eeze zinc drops, drinking lots of tea, tylenol and saline nose drops for the cold. My ears were getting stuffy last night so I dug out some Sudafed, took it early and went to bed. I woke up a couple hours later itching like mad, so I think I'm allergic. Kinda nervous about trying another decongestant, so I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. My doc said, ok, as long as there's no fever. I see him next week for another infusion anyway.

We're expecting a snow storm with freezing rain and sleet :scared: to hit here overnight, so I sure could use some P&PD that our flight isn't delayed and we can get outta here in the morning! :wizard:

suz- I'm praying it's not a long wait for you...

cepmom- I'm glad that's over with for you too! Sorry the doc acted like that...:flower3:

Laurie- That is so cute! Congrats on the new tag! :cheer2:

:grouphug:

cepmom...great news! suzadrew....it IS emotionally as well as physically draining....hoping for good results quickly...for you and for MNSusan too!! :grouphug: :grouphug:

Snappy...love the story and the tag :)

Laurabelle....sending ltos and lots of healing, decongesting, weather-stabilizing, good-trip wishes and thoughts your way. :sunny:

We are supposed to get 3-8 inches of snow starting tomorrow morning up here...:faint:

Have a good Thursday!

Hi everybody!

My lumpectomy went well - it only took about 30 minutes. They use very good drugs there. :) I'm sore this morning but slept well without pain meds. Now we're waiting on the path report. My surgeon is on call on Friday so she might not call until Saturday morning. What I want to hear is "clean margins!"

Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. It matters. GAGWTA!

Wow MNusan!! You must have a wonderful doc. Sounds like she is efficient (30 minutes) and caring (calling on Saturday). Please keep us updated.

Laura, I hate to recommend another decongestant. I no longer do sudafed since it is not recommended when you have high blood pressure. I tried soemthing called mucinex. Not sure about it, I think it is more for clearing mucous.

If you can just hang in there I am sure that Florida sunshine will help.

Chew gum on the plane since you have congestion in your ears. It can get painful with the combination of ear congestion and altitude.

Have a wonderful time.

Laura...hope you're soaking up some Florida sunshine and feeling better! If not, try not to overdo! :sunny:

A quick update as I'm heading to lunch. I'm sitting here almost in tears....MY MRI WAS FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just got a call from the nurse because the doc and I have been playing phone tag. They want me to follow up again in 6 months with a mammo.

Now if we can get this neurologist appt scheduled and find out why I'm having headaches I'll be good!!!!

THANK YOU for all of your thoughts and prayers over the last few months - yes, this has gone on for almost 2 months, maybe a little longer, now. I'm so glad I can get this out of my mind!!!!!!

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: HUGS to everyone!

I'm getting things finished around here and hoping and praying this storm holds back so we aren't delayed. Good thing is, my girls won't end up missing a day of school because they should be closed tomorrow!
I'll take lots of pics and post when I get back!

Great News Chris! :cheer2: Susan, I am so glad it went well and your doc is willing to call on the weekend! I'm looking forward to coming home to good news!

GAGWTA! :grouphug:

The past few days have been so busy. We went out of town for the weekend. It was lovely to get away for a few days.

This week has been a whirlwind. I was in charge of a booth at our church bazaar yesterday, so I had set-up, sales and clean-up. We made almost $7000. We're very pleased. But today I'm dead on my feet. I just want to curl up and take a nap.

I've caught up. Sounds like good news all around. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Keep your chins up. ;)

Laura, I liked the message of the first article better than the second one.
Have fun. Hope you are able to get a good night's sleeo and that stormmoves in slowly.

WOOHOO and YIPPEE!!!

I just heard from the surgeon's office. There were no additional cancer cells found in my breast tissue. There were no atypical cells found at all. Because there were no cancer cells, they'll have to go back and run the hormone receptor tests on the biopsy specimen and that'll take a couple of days.

I think we're going to go party tonight! Actually, we were going to a neighbor's Christmas party anyway, but now I really have something to celebrate!

THANK YOU so much for all your positive energy, good wishes and prayers. They really really do help!

That is wonderful news MNSusan!! :Pinkbounc I remember my relief at my "clean margins" appointment :teeth: Will you be doing radiation??

Chris---very pleased to hear your news as well!!

snappy I totally agree with your reaction to laurabelle's 2 links!! :)

I hope laurabelle was able to get off on her trip without delay....

We had OVER a foot of snow fall today between about 5 am and 3 pm :faint:
It's really pretty and Christmas-y, but it needs to NOT do this on teh 19th when I leave for my trip!! ;)

GAGWTA!!

All right, Susan!!!!

Hope you are celebrating right now.

I have also been thinking of Laura and hoping she is safe and sound in Orlando.

Susan & Chris  That sounds like wonderful news. I'm very happy for you. :cool1:

For those with me in the cold snowy north - (sing with me) It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....

For those in the sunny south :sunny: We're living vicariously through you, so y'all need to have great time!

GAGWTA! :cold:

A very quick hello and a great big CONGRATULATIONS :cheer2: to everyone who got good news this week! :Pinkbounc

Also hoping Laura and the others made it safely down to WDW. I know Laura flies SWA, it must have been a bit scary hearing what happened the other day while getting on a plane yourself in a storm. :scared:

We had quite a day yesterday around here - blizzard conditions. Of course I had to work both Thursday and Friday nights so I caught it at either end and my usual 1 hour commute turned into two plus. In 18 years I have never missed work due to the snow, but I came close yesterday. We had a power outage at home and began to take on water in the basement, but luckily things turned around late last evening and I made a midnight trek into work, LOL. People here were laughing that I couldn't break my record - needed to set a good example for the new kids. :teeth:

Have a good day, everyone! :flower:

I thought of Laura too when the SWA flight went down. My DD15 is petrified of flying, has been since Sep 11th. She is going on a trip with the church youth group on a plane, we'll see.

Linda, what a week. Two hour commute, that is truly going above and beyond. Reminds me of the stories out of some of the N.O. hospitals where the medical staffs went through hell to do everything humanly possible to save patients. Truly for the greater good. Good example for your kids too, they notice things like that more than we realize.

I think you deserve a hug and a dancing banana today. :grouphug:

GAGWTA!

Hope you all are havign a good weekend!!

Linda...I saw a little blurb on NECN that Dr Susan Love spoke at a women's health conference in Brockton the other day! The little piece shown was an interview with her thoughts on improved screening and even prevention techniques , tageted treatment techniques, etc. Her enthusiasm and hopefulness was encouraging!

Big article today top story on the front page of our local newspaper about new guidelines conerning chemo. I was surprised but gratified that the sotry was given top status. I think the story can be found at www.sabcs.org,
or www.nccn.org, also maybe at www.cancer.org or www.cancer.gov.
there aapparently was a recent meeting in San Antonio where the news was publicized.

I have not checked out the sites yet, running out of time this am. DD10's scout group is meeting in a little while to decorate doors in the pediatric area of a local hospital so I am rushed.

GAGWTA!!

Yes, I agree you guys. There really is a lot of exciting news in BC research and treatment. Much to be hopeful about. :goodvibes

Ann, I didn't see that about Dr. Love, but that's always good. It's interesting to hear that some people in the Boston medical community have mixed reactions to her and I'm not really sure why. :confused3 I know for myself, reading her book scared the bejeezus out of me, but OTOH she was straightforward and once I got over the initial shock, I found what she had to say very helpful (albeit frightening).

snappy, thanks for the articles, I will look at them later.

I was thinking of you all last night and figured you could probably appreciate the experience I had. :teeth:

I went to a Christmas party and was literally cornered :crowded: by a well meaning young woman who told me, at length, the story of her MIL who has BC with recent mets, as well as the stories of all of her multiple other family members with cancer. :earseek: I walked away twice but she followed me. :rolleyes1 I had to resort to telling her that although they were very sad, her stories were beginning to frighten me, that it's important for me to stay positive for myself etc - and even that I was sure I'd be having nightmares in my sleep that night. :faint: I felt badly because the stories really were sad, but it kind of put a damper on the night for me when all I really wanted to do was partake in a little holiday cheer with my friends and family and forget my usual worries for a while. Instead I felt bummed out. :(

DH always laughs and tells me I attract these people "like flies to dung", LOL. :rotfl2: I really do enjoy talking to people and normally don't avoid the cancer conversations. But this was really a bit too much. Anyone else ever have this happen? How do you handle it? :confused3
