Is it just me or are a lot of us infatuated with this board?

I just read 2 different posts where the thread starter was leaving for WDW in just a few hours, but had to check the board just one more time. I can't seem to turn it off either, is this an addiction or what?

Could there be a therapy group out there I'm missing?

I have been coming to these boards on and off since 96 or 97?? They are very addictive, but so is WDW. I over the years have found these boards to be a real pleasure to read, they used to be more personal then they are now, but that is ok, many times years ago things got out of hand in that department. You should learn a lot here about DVC, WDW and people in general. It has been a joy for me over the years.

LOL, BigDisneyKids! The DIS is my therapy group - no one in my non-DIS world is addicted! :teeth:

BigDisneyKids, I am very new to DIS (and DVC) as you are. I am beginning to worry about my infatuation...it seems I "need" to check in nearly every day!

Have got good information on DVC from it.We love our home away from home Old Key West and information shared on this board has helped us to enjoy our stays at OKW.::yes:: :wave2:

For those of you new to the DIS, you may like this definition that someone created (not me).

Disneyitis (Dis ney i' tis) n 1. Condition related to the uncontrollable desire to return to the World. Subjects with this condition are known to frequent note files, web pages, and newsgroups. Only known relief is a trip to Walt Disney World. There is no permanent cure....and no cure is being researched as those afflicted don't WANT one! Has also been known to infect Disneylanders. People who suffer from Disneyitis have also been known to spend an unusual amount of time at their local Disney Stores to temporarily relieve some of the symptoms associated with the disease. They will also tape, watch, re-watch, and re-re watch Disney videos, specials, parades, vacation planners, etc. Also will subscribe to Disney Magazine, and will read every brochure on Disney they can get their hands on. They will sport hats, coats, jackets, pants, and carry bags with Disney logos. Can't go more than one full year without going to the world without becoming suicidal, or worse, Homicidal! And no matter how many vacation days they take, they always seem to get ticked off at everything one or even two days before they have to leave the world and go back to the rat race.

Have a Disney Day!

DW is a RN & I'm a cop. She's recently been asking "how to commit someone for evaluation," should I be concerned?;)

Nick@ VB+OKW, I love it, you are truly the master!

Incidentally, we make a lovely odd couple...:earsboy: :earsgirl:

If you call spending more time here than any place else on the Internet an addiction, or coming here every spare second you have an addition, or having your spouse say "are you on that DIS board again an addition..................then YES, I have an addition :hyper:

And I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

You mean you only check in once a day!!!

Are you addicted when you walk by your den & "just have to see if you have any new DIS messages"?

Are you addicted if you get your DD's on the bus at 6:40 a.m. & immediately check the DIS & for new DIS messages & new DIS topics?

Are you addicted if on your way to bed you check "just one more time to see if anything new has happened"?

Are you addicted when you walk in the door, throw your bags, etc. down & check to see "if anything has happened on the boards"?

Hmmmmm.....looks like I'm addicted.

I do think that one of the reason though is because I always feel like I can be part of the magic when I'm these boards or think about these boards. It's my escape from reality!!! I love them. ::yes::

I think it is an addiction I know since hurting my knee and going off wrk on disability my wife is screaming at me all the time to get off the computer I would sit here all day if there was no one here to drag my sorry butt away from it.

Addicted, and proud of it!!!!!

Yes I am addicted to the DIS. Somehow I found this site by mistake back in Oct. and haven't been able to go a day without seeing what's new. I admit I mostly just read the posts and have gathered up tons of valuable information. My DH laughes when I tell him all the new stuff I learned. He doesn't mind me spending so much time on the site, it gives him a chance to watch whatever he wants on TV.
