DIS 10th Anniversary ... tracking attendance *new events added 7/9*

I will be local so I plan to be at as many things as possible. Once the agenda firms up (formal and informal) as well as the people I know from here have their accommodations I'll decide if I'm going to turn this into an on property staycation.

DH and I will be there 7/21-727, our first adults only trip and first DIS related trip. I think we are staying at POFQ, but I still have reservations at AOA LMA. I should cancel one, but I am thinking of booking another:sad2: It's a disease, trying to get the best deal. We only need one room. We plan to do the Podcast event and looking forward to seeing what the other events are.

Thanks to everyone for providing your information!

Just an FYI that any further details are known I will update this thread and as (re)direct towards any sign-up locations, etc. ... but other than that the podcast will happen on the 25h no details are known at this time

I'm planning to attend 10th anniversary events for sure. We don't arrive till very late on the 23rd and will be staying off site till August 22 :) I don't think my family will attend events with me, but you never know. DS13 is a big "Connecting with Walt" fan. We might also be up for joining a GKTW group. DS and I volunteered there in January and plan to go a number of times throughout the month we will be there.

I may be able to get to the Hershey meet. My high school reunion is in Lancaster on the 17th so I could technically get to Hershey on the 18th before returning to DC. But, I may have to fly to Boston on the 19th for a conference so I'm not sure I can make it all work out...

Forgot to mention also put me down for the live podcast on the 25th, thanks!

I was thinking probably pretty safe assumption that everyone coming for the 10th anniversary would be attending the show - but didn't want to commit everyone and then be wrong ... but I updated for you!

btw Max, I am stay at the BWV.
I will post any non Dis events we may plan, but am waiting for official events to avoid conflicts in parks and times.

Random question.....I'm familiar with GKTW and their awesome work, but what type of volunteer opportunities are you all talking about with them?
Way back in ancient times when I did my advanced internship I volunteered at the village each week. They used to have a night called parent's night off where they sent the parents to dinner paid and I'd help assign the volunteers (usually the College programers) to families. In the beginning we would assign volunteers to a family and we would go over to the Gingerbread House for dinner. After dinner we would take the kids to the ice cream palace for ice cream and then usually Nickolodian would have a show in the castle. I even remember some kids would get slimed (clues to how long ago this was.) After the kids would play with the volunteers until 9pm when their parents would pick them up. The core volunteers (including self) would make sure things ran smoothly and if any kids were having a hard time we would help out with that kid. I think they got rid of the event since some parents didn't pick up their children on time. I did other things as well. My favorite was doing lead for Mayor Clayton Tuck ins. I'll never forget how much fun it was to drive around with the Mayor and have pillow fights with the kids. I also helped out with Christmas in the village. That happens every week for the kids.

DH and I will definitely be at the event on the 25th, whatever/wherever it ends up beings.

Thanks - yeah, I suspect once the final details for the podcast on the 25th come out other details can get firmed up and also will confirm or adjust my family's plans as needed - hoping to be able to make some of the "unofficial" events as well
