Dis 10th Anniversary mention - July 2016

If I don't book airfare from the Chicago area in the next couple of weeks, it's going to be too expensive for me. So, I might have to just book it for that time period and hope for the best.

I took time off from work those dates and figure the actual tuesday anniversary is going to be correct and if things shift, i'll attend what I can and vacation the rest.

Well, it won't be JUST me. Teresa will be with me so that she can peek into Pete's windows during shows she's not involved with. She'll be the one in a safari hat. I'll be the one in whatever llamas wear.

I'll be the solar light garden gnome in the corner.

Overalls mostly. Maybe a checked shirt too

Ok now I really want this to happen just to see the reaction from the team (especially @Ryno ) when they realize that someone is watching them through the window

Somewhere between Pete's front yard and mentioning bears I got lost.

I just got confirmation for BCV that week, but also put a deposit on section 4B of Pete's front yard in case we need to camp there a few days. Kevin and the staff at Dreams were great in securing me a driveway view, and Kathy informs me that Pete will be delivering a continental breakfast to each assigned camping area. There is still speculation on whether pool access is included. On a positive note, there is no way my generator could be louder than Pete's neighbors lawn mower.

The entertainment schedule has yet to be made official, but most likely will include:
Watching Pete play Star Wars Battlefront through a window
Ryno making cupcakes in his easy bake oven
Watching Craig getting a sunburn as he walks to the front door
The Dis Backyard BBQ, much like the one at Ft Wilderness, but you bring your own food and cook it over a burning trash can
Pete yelling at everyone to stay off of the damn lawn
Teresa and her magical cat give a firewalking class
John providing a complimentary wake up call around 10:30-11:00

Maybe I'm naive, or just stupid, but I don't see myself going into the parks too much. So much to see and do. I'm starting to scare myself, but I will try to update everyone as more venues open.

Brilliant!
When do ADRs open up for the character brunch with the gang?
I assume John will be wearing Tanner's Tu-Tus.
Also, don't forget that resort offers a walking track, the "Pete's living room track" and it approximately 40sq feet of wonderful scenery (see note RE: watching Pete play battlefront)

Excellent news!

What size on-yard credit did you get by booking through Dreams?

How far in advance do you have to book your FP+ for the bathroom?

I heard there is a new evening activity where you have to sneak in and switch the characters on the base of Pete's Disney Infinity set without him noticing

Every time I post Kevin holds his forehead and sighs while Pete clutches his pearls and prays no one takes me seriously. I can picture Pete opening his account one morning with three PMs asking about the lawn units and what is still available.
To add to the fun, I will be renting a shetland pony and giving children pony rides in Pete's front yard. A moon bounce and rock climbing wall may also show up. What is proving to be the most difficult to plan is bringing Pete's mom in for an open forum Q&A. This will culminate in a midnight viewing of Frozen projected onto the front of the house, hopefully with a sing along.

I expect Corey to capture the friendly neighborhood bears and bring them by for some entertainment and photo opportunities as well. Seems right.

Llamas ware pajamas. Didn't you know that? There is a whole series of children's books with Ilama. He is the main character. If you get there the first week of July you would be early because I think the celebration is the third week in July. I was thinking tent camping at the fort but Pete's place might be better as long as there are no snakes or gators.

Here's a link to the book in case you are curious. lol http://www.amazon.com/Llama-Red-Pajama-Anna-Dewdney/dp/0451474570

I was thinking of providing the teens and children's activities. We can have things to do for Corey's kids, JL'S kids and Theresa's kids. Maybe we can find a glow in the dark miniature mini golf. Oh we can do our own fireworks show. I'll bring all the glow.

Well we did book it last night. Flights went up $13, but oh well. We are very excited to be at BWV that week. If the team does something while we're there, we will be there. If they don't, we'll still be in Disney enjoying ourselves.

PS: this means that we won't be using the camp site on Pete's front lawn, so if anyone is interested in it just let me know. I can't get my deposit back for the ponies, so you'll need to take care of them on the 24th and 25th. It is a great site right against the drive way with a livingroom window view. Kevin is charging $15 a night plus a $4 bathroom access fee. Sprinklers are turned on daily for use as a shower and Steve will be shuttling people to the parks in his 1989 minivan all day.

I know I've been getting crazy with my posts, but I'm too excited now that we are booked (19th-28th).
We need DisBoards uniforms to identify each other in the parks (no Ryno, I'm not wearing a speedo). We need cake and balloons and tequila and Little Orange Bird cups. We need to book an hour of private time in The Rose and Crown pub followed by and hour on the Magic Carpets. We need an event on the beach at Fort Wilderness where we all show up in bathing suits but not go in the DAMN LAKES. We need to book out Liberty Tree Tavern and watch Kevin eat there again or take over Hoop Dee Do.

While all this sounds fun, and like I'm a 12 year old girl with a drinking problem, I will be serious for a moment. GKTW is something to keep in mind too. Even if you you don't donate money, you can donate time there. Check out the thread on volunteering. It is a pinned thread in this forum. Just helping for a day may mean a lot to the families there.

Well now this is a problem, because I usually just sleep in flannel pants, which will be miserable in Orlando in July.

Now I have to rethink this WHOLE thing.

I agree with all your thoughts on how to identify each other, etc. (maybe some "I with the DIS" shirts or something)

I also like you point about Give Kids the World ... I could see something official being part of the festivities but if not perhaps we could organize a group to go over an volunteer together one day
