Dirty Dishes in sink or next to sink?

When your dishwasher is full of clean dishes (no time or desire to unload), where do you put your dirty dishes? In the sink or on the counter next to the sink? I prefer in the sink. That way my counters still look tidy and I Can't really see the dirty dishes. I have two sinks so I try to fill the left sink first, then if still lazy, I fill the right sink. How about you?

I will not leave dirty dishes. Ever. Imo, there is always time to wash them or put away the clean from the dishwasher. You(general) just choose not to.

I can't stand dirty dishes in the sink.

I would much rather have them by the sink,or not have them at all.;)

I don't have a dishwasher, except me ;) I put any dishes I dirty into the sink until we have our next meal. Then they get washed.

Obviously it's better to have no dirty dishes at all but that's not what I'm asking.

For us non-superhuman people who don't ALWAYS have time to unload, or who choose to give ourselves a break once in a while, where do your dirty dishes go.

And no, there isn't always time to unload. Usually, yes, but not always. I have four kids who are very involved in music AND sports, and we both work full time. I keep a neat and clean house but not perfect.

My husband has OCD. Anything left out drives him crazy!! So when this happens at our house, he has been known to put the leftover dirty dishes in the oven-so he can't see them! Drives me crazy!!

My friends all say I'm the neatest and cleanest (anal) person they know - and I do have dirty dishes often! I put them in the sink!
I'm far from lazy - but if I don't have time or the dishwasher is full -in the sink they go!

in the sink for me!

I am sitting here right now, watching tv, surfing the net, and relaxing while the dishwasher remains full of clean dishes. They'll get unloaded when I make dinner, until then pile the dishes in the sink!

I have double sink bowls, I use the left one for dirty dishes. It actually has the garbage disposal but I never use it.

If the pan needs to soak, then it is in the sink. Everything else is by the sink. I hate to have dishes in the sink and then put my hand in all that dirty water or to not be able to easily wash my hands.

My dishwasher only takes 45 min (I do a rinse cycle and than a quick wash). so not much time for dishes to get dirty in between loads. If I do get a few dirty dishes they just sit on the counter beside the dishwasher or I'll wash them by hand if I am washing dishes in the sink (pots, pans, tupperware ect.) I tend to empty my dishwasher right after it's done so I get the dirty oes in there right away. I run my dishwasher at least once a day.

In the sink!

I can't stand seeing them stacked on the counter. At least, if they're in the sink, it kinda sorta maybe looks like I plan to wash them sometime.

:lmao: I love your reply. :thumbsup2 Dont you just love getting lectured when you ask a simple question? Lol.

We actually dont have a dishwasher...but when I use to have one, i put the dirty dishes inside the sink, i like to at least see the counters clear.

I actually dont mind dirty dishes in the sink for a few hours....since its just me sometimes, often after work i'll let the dishes sit until just before bed time. Then i wash it all.

I definitely choose to leave my dirty dishes in the sink, when I choose to do so. It's a choice I make to not clutter my counter. ;)

in the sink, although honestly it rarely happens except when the dishwasher is still running while someone dirtied something. it takes me 5 minutes or less to unload a clean dishwasher and I'd rather do that quickly and reload than leave stuff piling up. I'm not ocd about a lot of things, but that definitely bugs me. and I would HATE seeing them pile up on the counter.
