Dirty Dancing TV Movie Remake

The casting of one specific character was absolutely horrible. I think if that character had been casted differently then it would have been passable. So it wasn't great at all... but the one casting decision took it from not great to just bad.

I didn't think it was as bad as many are saying, but it was a definite disappointment.

DH watched for about 15 minutes, made a few crude comments, and left the room.

The original is possibly my favorite movie ever - definitely top 3. At the time I saw it in the theater 7 times. I have seen it at home dozens of times since.

I dvr'd the remake and I wasn't going to watch, but I couldn't help myself. I was just too curious. I got almost half way through. It really is bad.

I like most of the casting, except Baby and Johnny, unfortunately. The two that mattered most.

I strongly dislike the added story line of the parents personal life. I didn't get to see the rest of the story about Lisa, so not sure how that turned out.

Seriously, not every movie needs to be remade.

I saw a performance from it on Dancing With the Stars, and decided it wasn't worth my time or DVR space.

The acting is atrocious. The casting director needs a stern talking to.

I watched an hour. I thought the lead characters had no chemistry. Without that, there's not much of a movie.

I watched the whole thing.....it didn't get any better at the end. I think the total lack of chemistry between the lead characters is what made it so bad.

I like Abigail Breslin generally, but she was not set up for success this time. The guy who played Johnny was terrible. The dialogue was laughable.

I was most disappointed by the dancing. Either the choreographer was terrible or had to dumb down the dances to match the abilities of the dancers.

Abigail Breslin is a wonderful actress but I didn't like her in this role. The guy playing Johnny was good looking and could dance and all but I just didn't like him in this role either.

It was Choreographed by the guy who did Hamilton. He won a Tony award, so I am to assume he has some talent.

I'll agree with the others and say that the casting was way, way, way off. I watched the whole thing, because, apparently, I'm a glutton for punishment. I was wincing the entire time.

.
Normally she is a decent actress but she was HORRIBLE in this. Like bad. Just bad. And it couldn't be blamed on the writing or the other actors. She just wasn't the right person for the part.
