Direct Sales Reopening?

You all are a bunch of enablers, I love it.
But we are starting off small, 100 points, and DH did ask if we could add to that at anytime.
Yes - we all are enablers when it comes to our DVC addictions! :earboy2:
If you have a young family, and plan to use multiple APs for several years, make sure you do the math on what you can save by buying direct. It's sometimes worth the price for the 100pt minimum to get the Blue Card. But also consider buying resale first, if you're already thinking about adding on incrementally, as its easier to match Use Years buying direct, than it is buying resale.
If I had been more enlightened earlier on, I may have also considered owning at 2 resorts, and alternating reservations, ...hmmm, maybe I do need to buy more points ?:goodvibes

Very much agree there... but also just be aware of the UY popularity when you buy. We had originally settled on an August UY as our anniversary is in August, and we most love to visit during MNSSHP and MVMCP. However, at the time we were looking, there were no Aug UY that were perfect for us (and we lost one to ROFR) but then a perfect Sep UY came along, so we decided to go with a Sep UY instead. If I had known then that Sep UY was significantly less popular UY than August, I might have tried waiting longer, or just bought direct first while stalking for that perfect Aug UY contract. :)

Just had a chat with someone on the DVC website and I asked them when the sales was opening. Here was there answer:

"Sales is going to begin a gradual return to the office starting on June 22. The phone number for the sales office is 800-800-9100. They can help you if your guide is not back in the office yet. "
Woohoo! I wonder if this means we'll see incentives return next Monday?

Looks like they just re-loaded CCV into the online Cost Calculator on DisneyVacationClub.com, so perhaps Sales is gearing up.
Oh good. I'm still contemplating buying that if they have strong enough incentives.

very interesting, back in early 2020, CCV wasn't even in the cost calculator at all, it was just AUL and RVA

I think there will be two places we'll see the first indication of sales being up
1 the RVA, CCV, and AUL pricing sheets will be active again (right now just a 404 error) https://www.dvcexplorer.com/qp/ or https://www.dvcexplorer.com/qm/ (username: welcome | password: home)
2 the special offers page will have actual offers (right now just redirects to RVA) https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/special-offers/

if anyone notices either being up, please do share!
CCV was in the cost calculator in April before the most recent offers expired. It may have come and gone before that, I am not sure. It disappeared when they rejiggered the page a couple days later in order to remove most of the links to the offers (there’s still a few of you dig).

Why is CCV more expensive than RIV?
CCV is a new resort and BRV is a 2042 resort. CCV has few studios - I believe 10, so that can be an issue for some. I can't wait to be BRV owners again! When you get to a certain age, you just hope to make it to 2042 and we are definitely in that category LOL! :crazy2:

I meant Riviera. Someone mentioned that CCV was almost sold out.

Approx 6-7 years ago DVC started something new with pricing in doing large price increases on their WDW/DL "sold out" resorts. CCV kind of reached that designation although since they have offered a few discounts it seems like they may have rushed it just a bit. By do that DVC is encouraging buyers to purchase the resorts they most want to sell - the new ones they are promoting. That is Riviera and Aulani. Prior to that time all they did was stop offering incentives but the base price stayed relatively stable.

The special offers page is now redirecting to https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/riviera-savings/ which gives you a Stitch Someone Ate the Page error.

In addition, according to another thread, people who are already members can view the new CCV, RIV, and AUL offers.

So things are happening!

Yes. They are answering.
I didn't ask him for every offer under the sun, only the 2 I am interested in, but they have new incentives for first time buyers for at the very least CCV (150-199 $15/pt; 200-249 $25/pt) and OKW (150-199 $5/pt, 200-249 $8/pt)
