We are considering buying 75 direct points each at VGF and Riviera so we get the perks of having 150 direct points. We would really like to own at a MK resort and an Epcot resort, so thought this may be the best way to go. There are only two of us, so would like to have the 11-month priority at each for the cheaper studios and we can't decide which resort we like better because there seems to be pros and cons at each, as there is at every resort. I know that this will either mean banking/borrowing to have enough points to stay a week at either or else doing split stays. We also have a 120 point contract at AKV.
Is this too few points at each and should we just stick to one or the other? Opinions please?

Also, how do people staying at VGF get to Epcot for rope drop with no bus? It seems like kind of a hassle to have to take a monorail to the TTC and transfer to a different monorail to get to Epcot. Or is it really no big deal?

I think it’s a great plan and we have points at each since those are our top two resorts. We do split stay between the two so that we do Epcot when at RIV,,and do MK and AKV from VGF.

Sounds l like a great plan, but personally I don't think I would have enjoyed it.

I bought 150 VGF, and felt like I missed out on Riviera. So far I'm happy that all my points are at one location. I personally like to plan at the 11 month window, and am worried that if I had 75/75 I might be booking more split stays, and I really don't like switching hotels. My original plan was to add on 50 to Riviera, but now I'm more likely to add more to VGF. So far I've wait listed Riviera twice at the 7 month window and got it both times, although maybe once I stay there soon I'll change my mind.

I really like the monorail in and how it winds around the whole park. But I also don't mind waking up early.

Thank you! And you don't think that 75 points at each is too few?

It depends on number of nights….resort studios at VGF are pretty likely to be available at 7 months so you might be able to use the other points.

I mean, 100 at each would give you more cushion!

I would do 150 direct at RR to get the SV rooms - resort studios are available at VGF in all but the peak times and resale points or your RR resorts points will book it at 7 months. Assuming 2 adults and no kids - Epcot /HS is the place to be for the longer part of a split stay. I only do 2-3 nights at MK as it is a one-day park for adults.

in non-peak times your resale points will usually get you Poly SV , Resort studios at VGF, Lake view studios at BLT or a studio at Bolder Ridge for 2-3 nights. It's much harder to get an Epcot area studio (BW/BC) for 2-3 nights at 7 months with resale.
