Direct price increase coming 5/27

To update, I heard from my guide today. He said it was highly unlikely that my waitlist for 50 points would come through before the lower price expired. He quoted about a month for the waitlist to be fulfilled. No real surprise here. His next push was OKW.

So, I just missed a call from my guide - who was leaving for the day.

My SSR points are available (with 2020 points) was the message.

He won't be back in the office until Sunday.

They are holding these for me, right? Or do I need to track someone else down today?!?!?!?

Are these points at the old rate? What use year?

My guide pretty much ghosted me when I asked about the waitlist before the price went up.

To answer my own question first, yes they are being held. Apparently, he sent an email, too. I just didn't see it.

I went on waitlist 5/26 and was told if they came thru in 14 days, I get the old rate. So, should be good there.

UY is Oct so it seems lately there has been some question as to whether or not they will bank points. I am not going to ask, since in the past they always have and my guide did not tell me otherwise. He knew I wanted the points for a specific ressie and that it was in my 2021 UY.

After they get in my account, I will call MS. If for some reason I run into problems, I guess I can back out. If they're holding the price, seems like they would still bank them since when I called to request / put on waitlist, I was still within banking window. So, I think I have a good argument even if there is some new rule in place.

LOL. I have never bought off a waitlist but I have read that when offered, someone is given a chance to accept or decline.

But, if it was me, I’d call and leave the message for the guide accepting them, and I would probably also call and ask if there is a way to make sure it is noted as well.

If you have email, I’d do that as well just to have a record!

Back in 2016, I was on the VGF waitlist...... of course since they couldn't let me buy points right away, I did more research and found resale contract for VGF and much better prices. I got a call the day after I passed ROFR on my first contract, and was given 24 hours to make a decision if I wanted to buy direct points, I ended up passing on the direct points.

Thanks guys! Updated info above.

The email said I have 5 days to get back to them.

I really wish he'd have been able to get the sale through for me today, though. I want to change a few nights of my January reservation to a split stay and the window for the split opens tomorrow. So, I'll be a day late on attempting the switcharoo if I can get them loaded on Sunday or 2 days late if it takes until Monday since I also have to get them banked. It was so close to perfect timing! lol

We just purchased Oct UY and had to call/chat to to bank the points ourselves, it was not automatic.

Did you get the old price? If so, were you put on a waitlist back before the price increase?

Just an update:

Got my points today @ $165. 8 minute call with my guide, 15 minute call with MS to bank 2020 points

Phew.

This was a total "don't know what you've got until it's gone" scenario for me. I had been debating this add-on for a long time and when the price went up I realized I didn't really love my other options. So glad to be done..... at least for a little while. lol

My waitlist came through yesterday. I have to call my guide today to get the paperwork done. I am really glad because I wasn't thrilled with any of my other options.

Congratulations! Where you waitlisted for SSR at the lower rate? If so, which use year?
