Direct Points - Minimum Purchase - 25 Points Possible ?

Hello!

With the Villas at Disneyland Hotel opening for bookings today for the 7 month mark, was thinking about adding on a very small direct contract from Disney. Currently, I have two contracts totaling 140 points together at the Poly. They were both bought after the January 19, 2019 deadline where I can only book at the original 14 DVC resorts which is fine by me 90% of the time, at least for now (who knows what future DVC expansions may change those thoughts).

I was thinking of possibly purchasing a small direct 25 point contract from Disney though as would be nice to have the option to book a night or two at the Riviera (Studio) or the new DVC Wilderness campground cabins when they come out or even a night at the new Disneyland Hotel next time we're planning to go out to CA.

My questions would be:

  • If we bought a 25 point direct contract, would we be able to also combine that with up to 24 one time use points bought from Disney to extend our point pool essentially?
  • Would buying a 25 point direct contract allow me to see availability for Riviera, Disneyland Hotel, etc. when logging into my DVC account so that I can book directly on the site for those 1-2 nights? (Currently they don't show up)
  • I know a few months ago, current DVC members could buy 25 point add on direct contracts for VGF, is this still the case? If so, any idea on the $ per point for such a small contract?
  • Is it possible to buy 25 points direct from Disney at the Poly where we currently own already? If so, how?

Thank you for any thoughts you can provide on this! :)

Disney has not been allowing contracts of smaller than 50 points at VDH (or Riviera). You can still buy 25 points at the older resorts like VGF or the original Poly. VGF would be $217 per point and Poly would be $250. Current pricing is available in this document on page 4:

Oh and as to how, just call your guide (or the 1800 number on disneyvacationclub.com ) and they will be thrilled to take your money :)

Hi EFF, thank you for the reply but that link isn't working for some reason for me.

Yup I've seen that I cannot buy 25 points at VDH or Riviera, was only looking at either the Poly or VGF. I just want the 'option' to be able to try to book a Studio at VDH or Riviera at the 7 month mark which I currently don't have since my two resale contracts were purchased after January 2019.

What is the best way to go about inquiring to Disney on a 25 point direct contract at VGF or the Poly? Go through the website or a Guide?

Any specific Guide recommendations? I assume there are zero benefits/pixie dust for such a small contract. I'm guessing the mouse sneezes and $6K comes out lol
There’s zero benefits and pixie dust. And given that you’re not eligible for any special anything, and you can’t finance a contract that small, I think whatever guide answers the phone is perfectly acceptable for you. It should be impossible for them to screw up a 25 point cash purchase.

& where it comes out, well I'll leave that there,,,,,,,
But, in ref to what EFF stated:

You might not be able to "finance" that small an add on, but you could possibly get short-term, like 6 months, with 0% interest on a Disney Credit Card. That's what I did with a 25 point add on at AKV

Lol is my nickname EFF now? Effffff….

VGF is 25, but you have to ask. Our guide tried telling us that 50 was the minimum for VGF. We had no interest in a contract that small, so it didn't really matter, but I found that interesting - as we may want to do something like that later.
