Direct flights from Boston to Orlando

It's still a while until that trip, but I'm in the planning mood right now.

Next year, we are going on a transatlantic cruise from Harwich, England, arriving in Boston on Sept. 17, then flying down to Orlando, transfer to Cocoa Beach and then get on the DVC Member Cruise on the Disney Dream the next day.

In order to still do some sightseeing in Boston, we would book an excursion by the cruiseline which ends at the airport (they say "for flights departing after 2PM)

Now, what would be our options to get to Orlando, preferably on a direct flight? I think JetBlue and Delta have direct flights, anyone else?

Only one I can add to your list is Airtran. Can confirm Delta and JetBlue (Love JetBlue).

But they (Airtran) have a habit of switching direct flights to 1 stop. Has happened to me. :confused3

I think flying from Boston-Logan, Jet Blue and Delta are going to be your only options if you are looking for non-stop flights. Air Tran seems to have stopped all non-stops coming from BOS to Florida (but has some going South to North).

I'm thinking you (OP) means non-stop, rather than direct, where you could have a stop, but not have to change planes. There is a 5:10pm non stop on Jet Blue (flight 437) to Orlando (there are also a 7:30pm and an 8:15pm flight on Jet Blue I would probably go with Jet Blue over Delta, as Delta only has 2 non-stops to Orlando, one at 7:10am (way too early) and one at 2:48 (could be cutting it close if you have any type of delay).

Good Luck OP

Yes, I meant Non-Stop, sorry. 2:48 shouldn't be a problem. In the tour description it says "For flights after 2PM", so I think this means they will be at the airport around noon or so.

Also, if we would do a private tour, we would make it clear to the tour guide that we need to be at the airport early enough to catch that flight.

I really don't want to take a late flight as once we are in Orlando, we still need to drive 1h to Cocoa Beach.

I have no airline info to offer, but wanted to say that Jewel of the Seas is a beautiful ship, and its Transatlantic itinerary is wonderful! We were on a similar TA cruise on Celebrity in September 2009.

Thanks Nancy!

We did a pre-inaugral cruise on Jewel from Hamburg to Oslo a few years ago and cruise several times already on her sister, Brilliance of the Seas. Radiance class is really one of our favorite ship categories.

We love doing transatlantic crossings, such a civilised and relaxed way to travel between the old and the new world. And no jetlag! :-)

Also looking forward to the DVC Member Cruise on the Disney Dream!

We were on a Baltic cruise on Jewel in 2005. It's my only Radiance-class ship so far, but definitely my favorite RCI ship class. We'll be on a November TA from Barcelona on Adventure of the Seas with my in-laws. I hope I can handle 6 sea days in a row at the end!

I'm looking forward to my Dream cruise in February, but after that - no more Bahamas cruises!

Our first TA was on a much smaller ship (HAL's Prinsendam) but I was really busy on all those sea days. Adventure of the Seas is so much bigger and has even more things to do, I don't think you will ever get bored.

Also, sometimes it is also nice to just sit on the outside promenade, relax and enjoy the smell and sound of the sea!

Love Jetblue and refuse to fly on Delta. The other airline that has nonstop is Southwest (love it plus no bag fees). They don't show up on expedia etc. You have to go on their website.

But SW doesn't fly nonstop from BOS to MCO.

Actually, Southwest doesn't fly non-stop from Boston to Orlando (or anywhere in Florida). It's relatively new to Boston, and the only non-stop flights as of today are to Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Chicago-Midway. There may be one direct flight a day, or there may not be; but generally BOS-MCO requires a plane change.

I've never had any issues with Delta, but Jet Blue is the best!! I fly them whenever I can.

Viele Gruesse aus Boston!
As a local here in the Boston area (..."land of the bean and the cod"...), I would recommend any tour that can put you near South Station at the end. From there, you can grab the Silver Line bus right to the airport terminal in a dedicated tunnel under the harbor (wicked fast, as we say around here). You can also do the Blue Line subway from the Aquarium, but you still have to board a bus from the Airport subway stop; of course most of the coomercial tours will drop you near the Aquarium, so that may make more sense.

As for airline, I concur on preferring JetBlue over Delta, tho we will do both or either for non-stops to Orlando, depending on the pricing. There are some "direct" flights on SouthWest, where you don't change planes, but you still end up stopping in Baltimore (tho if the price is right, that would work too).

Good luck!
