Direct Buying Process VS Resale

Hello Fellow Vacation Club Members

So now that I'm wrapping up resale and know the whole process, I am wondering what buying direct after is going to be like. I had all of these closing documents emailed to me from the title company after ROFR passed, which we of course had to sign and wire closing costs and I just mailed them. I didn't think I would have to notarize being a USA buyer, but we did have to notarize with witnesses some documents. Obviously the process is not fast and waiting on the seller does elongate it and with direct we wont have that.

Now onto my question, I have heard that people that buy direct can even get their points the same day. How is this possible? Aren't there closing documents to fill out, money to be wired, notarizations, mailing docs, a title company and a deed that needs to be recorded? Does disney just front you these points, trusting that you'll pay them? I'm pretty quick to do everything, but even i can't control how fast it takes to mail something.

Bought direct today. I talked to my guide 2 hours ago. Documents arrived an hour later. I already have my points loaded and ready to use.

If you use points and dont pay or cancel during your right of recision period I assume they just cancel your reservation. No harm done to them.

It’s wicked fast! You’ll wonder how you ever survived the resale process.

Yup it typically only takes a couple of hours to get them loaded.
If your are past your banking deadline you can still call MS and they will bank them for you, just mention that you just purchased a new contract.

I'm hoping when we eventually buy our next resale (akv) i won't be as "desperate" because I will already have some points. But... I'm sure I will get addicted to one bedrooms during this upcoming trip and then I will be desperate to get the points again so I can pull that off for the whole time lol

Yep! I bought from the UK last week. Points were in my account within 90 mins. If you don’t pay they will have absolutely no problem taking them back!

They have your address so Im sure you'd get a bill, you dont stay free with the mouse. They also take a deposit up front

Ugh i am going to be pissed if these sellers drag their feet. I just got the closing docs yesterday and I paid to have a mobile notary drive to our house a couple hours later and mailed it stat!

Often it's the title co that drags their feet. So thats great that you already got docs to sign.

I read most of it but when they use all the legal jargon, I skim lol
