Dinosaur vs. Star Tours on Scary Factor

The big scare that terrifies most kids is the Carnotaurus that comes out of the jungle near the end of the ride.. screaming at you at major decibels...DW and I had a mid teen boy next to us in the front seat of the vehicle last time we rode. When he got off he literally ran out of the building up the stairs through the gift shop - to well I can't assume where he went...but he was terrified..and no he was not running to the next ride..he was white as a ghost...

Personally, the ride is a hoot..wish it was not so dark though, because the dinosaurs are done really well and I would like to see them better..

Since you post was a day ago..wonder if yo have been yet?

~I love Dinosaur, it's just a really rough ride! I think Star Tours would be the worst of the two, regarding motion sickness. Have fun! :wizard:

Our whole family went on dinosaur for the first time last year. The kids were 4 and 6. We were all scared and the picture was priceless. I'm still kicking myself for not buying it. I've convinced the kids to go on it again this summer just so I can't get the pic.

Dinosaur is one my favorite rides... I go into it imagining it is actually real....

just looking at my pic you will see my reaction.... can't wait to go on it again!!!

But if you don't want to be so scared, just remember it IS Fake

Ps... if you worry about motion sickness, I have an inner ear problem that causes dizziness.. Star Tours = fine, Dinosaur = fine, mission space (mild version) = ok, just a bit of a problem on takeoff, soarin = rode only once but was sick for hours afterwards

I can do the scariest roller coaster on the planet with a smile on my face.
But Dinosaur scares the poop out of me.

But motion sickness-wise, Star Tours is worse

I usually look at the pictures but can't justify purchasing them... too expensive. But my picture on Dinosaur was so funny I splurged!!!!

Is it your avatar?! If so, you're right. It's HILARIOUS.
I've actually never rode on Dinosaur without closing my eyes the entire time. We bought or dino ride picture, too, though. Just had to!

You got it!!!

My 5 year old couldnt believe how the adults behind us were freaking out on dinosaur last year. We were in the front of the car. He thought it was so cool, not scarey at all unless you are afraid of the dark or fake dinosaurs(which he is not knowing its a ride.) Then again, he also loved tower of terror:woohoo:
Its not a roller coaster type ride, its a bumpy track in the dark.

Well you guys gave me the nerve to do it, and I'm glad I did -- no motion sickness afterwards and almost no ridiculous shrieking during!

I did ask my 9 year old if he minded sitting on the outside seat because I was so scared...maybe not my proudest parenting moment ever, but hey it beats all the times I stand outside scary rides and send him in alone (which I still did today at EE -- I'm moving in baby steps, people, baby steps....).

thanks all for the responses -- very helpful (and ShhhQ -- thanks for the avatar. A good laugh although if I'd seen that before I rode, I might not have -- you look terrified!)

That picture makes me happy!

I'd post mine but you can't even tell I'm in the vehicle. I'm huddled in my SIL's lap and she's face down on my back.
