I've read a quite a few posts where adults say that Dinasaur was one of the more scary rides for them. To some it was scarier than the "thrill rides".

I don't understand why. I mean, after a certain age, we realise that the dinosaurs are....well..... not real :rolleyes1

So why would it be scary for a grown up?

Yea, you do know what is coming, but when that T-rex screams it is enough to knock you out of your seat! :earseek:

I have to imagine that a lot of it has to do w/things popping out at you in the dark when you least expect it. I can see how that might be scary to some people.

I know that things breathing down my neck in the dark and popping out at me give me a fright. I've never been on Dinosaur but remember the old Extraterrorestrial "ride" they had at MK (now Stitch) and remember my heart beating a mile a minute over not knowing what to expect next!!!!

I wasnt too scared of Dino, although~ I do get nervous in the dark. My prob w the ride was that I got the worst bruise Ive ever had in my life on that ride. It was the size of a baseball and I was tender in that spot for a month~ NEVER AGAIN :furious:

Is this ride too much for a 7 year old dinosaur freak? My son loves the Jurassic park movies. He's really looking forward to the dinosaur ride but I don't want to traumatize him.

I hate it when the big dinosaur pops out at you and looks like he's going to eat you alive! :scared1: Other than that, it's not scary. :teeth:

Can you tell me which side of the car the big T-rex is closest too? My dd is finally wanting to ride this, but I think it's best if she is on the farther side from him.

We love this ride, but it is one of the scarier ones. It's very loud and dark, and dinosaurs pop out at you when you least suspect....still it is very fun!

I think it is a carnotaur rather tham a T-rex....either way, there is a time he is one the left side and a time later where he is on the right side....you cannot escape him. These are closer to the end of the ride though, so maybe she can close her eyes?

I cannot tell a lie... I jumped a few times but scary naw, it wasn't for me..

The above posters hit it right on the head. It is dark, jolty and loud and then have things jump out of the dark at you. SCREAM!!!!!!

They could make daisys jump at me in the dark and I would scream! :rotfl:

Scary? Of course it's not scary... in our picture from Dinosaur I am just trying to show the T-Rex my tonsils... not screaming for dear life! ;)

No side of the ride will "save" you from the carnosaur (not a T-Rex, carnosaur ;) ), but if you have more timid people have them sit on the right, then they won't be parked right next to it for any length of time.

You are too funny :rotfl2:

Well, I'm sorry but I'm a big ol' adult and this ride scares the heck out of me! I rode it the first time and it was very scary - I nearly crawled up my teen son's arm. He was very embarrassed. So some time went by (couple of years) and I thought "Oh, come on. It's just a ride and it's not real. Try it again and just enjoy it."

HA! From the moment DH and I climbed into the car and got off into the roars and screams of the Jurassic Era, I was very overwhelmed with fear. I really crouched down (as much as possible) and hid my eyes! I must have been chased by one of those things in another life.

NO, I cannot recommend this ride. Many kids and adults love it but I'm just too full of the suspension of disbelief to be able to ride this. If you are very imaginative, you might want to go with a loved one. Someone to clutch and squeeze! Good luck.

I really like this ride, but is does jerk you around quite a bit. My then 6 year old daughter sat between my husband and me. She kept her eyes closed the whole time, though. I am definitely going to ride it again. I like it a lot better than roller coasters.

I find Dinosaur more jarring than almost any other ride at WDW. I don't enjoy it much. After the last time I went on it with DS, I told him that I didn't like it much, but went on it for him. He told me he didn't like it much and went on it for me :rotfl2:

The ride itself is excellent - but very jarring.

1) I didn't think it was scary.
2) But there were a couple of suprises.
3) I found it to be too joltly for me.

Dinosaur has the visceral impact of a rock concert. This ride is LOUD! You not only hear, but feel the spl's emenating from this exhibit. Along with the threatening (close) interaction of these massive creatures, you have an experience that startles the senses of a first time rider.
