Dinosaur for 5 yr old?

My 4 1/2 year old Daughter and I went on this last year.
Lets just say I forgot a lot of the ride before suggesting we try it! :rolleyes1
I thought it went well.
Tough to see her face because most of the ride is in the dark.
Did anyone mention the Gigantosaurus that pops out of the dark and freaking *ROARS* at you a few feet above your head?
No?
Well there'e a Gigantosaurus that pops out of the dark and freaking *ROARS* at you a few feet above your head!
My Princess kept her cool but when I asked her if she wanted to go on it again she just shook her head, "no".
:teeth:

My DH talked MY 5 yo son into going on the Dinosaur ride...he had nightmares for a week. It is scary for the little ones.
And my son does not scare easily...haunted mansion was ok, test track, several roller coasters...he loved them...but not dinosaur!

I think I pretty much decided not to let my 5 yr DS ride Dinosaur but can anyone describe the "pre-show" area. Is there anything in there worth bringing DS in to look at? He'd love to see some big Dinos on exhibit but I don't remember seeing anything like that the last time we were at AK.

Well, in light of all of your comments, I think I will steer both my 5yr old AND my 7 yr old in a different direction...We still have lots to do in AK!

Lawshark and 2655: The video was running on the site yesterday, but when
I looked today, it was just a picture of a scary T-Rex?! Maybe someone else knows the answer.

Thanks everybody. 11 more days!!!

I think that the big dino that jumps at you at the end is actually a Carnotaur, but I could be wrong. DS doesn't like that bit, and he also has trouble understanding that there is no chance of the "big meteor" actually hitting us.

Anyway, just wanted to point out that if you have a kid that like dinos but isn't up for the intensity of this ride, a good alternative is Ellen's Energy Adventure at Epcot. The dinos in that one are the ones from Fantasia, and it is not nearly as intense.

I knew someone would nail me on that one!
It's not a tyranny though, it's bigger with devil horns or something?
The name escapes me right now.
I hoped that Giganta would get my point across.
:earboy2:

So does it move like a roller coaster or just is dark & loud with dinosaurs jumping out. Kinda reminds me like the King Kong ride from Universal Studios. ???
