Our 6yr. old daughter is obsessed with dinosaurs and especially Jurassic Park. I can't wait to see her face when she walks up to the entrance!

Does anyone have any special tips or things that may go missed in that area that we need to see? We do plan on doing all the rides. Just didn't want to miss anything with the crowds that could go unnoticed.

3 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce:

To get the best effect and reactions from her, avoid going into JP from Toon Lagoon. Instead go from Lost Continent. There will be more of a build up when she approaches the giant gate, plus there's a Spinosaur that is quite visible near the Watering Hole. That will be the first dino you see, even though it doesn't move or anything.

Also check out Camp Jurassic (dino footprints make sounds, amber mines to look through, etc) and check out the Discovery Center so she can learn more about dinos. :)

Make sure you do the Dinosaur Trail with the "real" triceratops. The discovery centre is really cool for dinosaur crazed kids. Walking through Jurassic Park at dusk is really a fun experience. There is hardly anyone there, the foliage is really thick and the music makes you feel like you are in the movie.

When we were at IOA on Sunday, the Dinosaur Trail was closed. It had been open earlier in the week during spring break but most likely is now closed until the summer crowds begin.

I called IOA and the Dino Walk is closed for maintenance. Glad you mentioned it ahead of time before I talked it up to my daughter.

Thanks for all the other great tips too!

Wow, lucky you that your 6 year old daughter isn't afraid! My 7 year old daughter screamed bloody murder when we approached Jurassic Park. Took her until the next day to get her to walk through the gate. She liked it once inside but didn't ride any rides.

Dinosaurs are her thing. At 2 1/2 she could name 10+ kinds and whether that ate meat or plants. For a year she referred to herself as "Aladar".

But she is terrified of ET! Go figure! She is really not wanting to do that ride. I think it just an mechanical figure, right? Or is that a scary ride?

ET is not scary at all. None of the aliens are mean looking, they're all silly/friendly.

The aliens on MIB are out to get you....sorta ;)

The Aladar thing is really cute.:cutie:
I would actually try to ride ET first before you have her ride. It is quite dark inside the ride and while I find the indoor queue to be beautiful, you are walking through the nighttime forest. My 10 year old is still afraid of the dark and he usually wants to walk through there as quickly as possible:eek: On the actual ride, you will be riding on bicycle style seats. If you are in the front row, the second seat from the left actually has an ET figure pop up in the bicycle basket. (My kids argue over who's going to get this seat:rolleyes: ) You may want to avoid the front row. Also, when my older son was little, he used to get scared when the police car kind of sneaks out of the forest on you. It's slightly unexpected. As I said, ride it yourself first. Even though the ET Adventure is located inside Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone, I still think it has the ability to frighten some kids.
