Hi all,

So BF and I just booked our 2nd trip to the world and we leave in less than 3 months!!!

I know it's going to be pretty hard to lock down some ADRs but I want to try anyways.

This time I also want to try eating at resorts as opposed to eating at restaurants in the park.

Any suggestions for great food in close by resorts to each park?

We definitely want to try Chef Mickey's... but I'm not sure which other places are good and close to each theme park, I don't want to spend my afternoon on the bus going from place to place.

Here are a few:
Ohanas at Poly
Boma at AKL
Whispering Canyon at WL
Kouzzina-this is at Boardwalk-and we enjoyed strolling the boardwalk after dinner.

The Epcot resorts can be reached by boat from both Epcot AND DHS, so that helps a lot. AKL is really close to AK, obviously, but its the farthest place on property from just about everywhere but the All-Star resorts, so that does need to be taken into consideration if you're eating there late. When we stayed at AKL I cannot begin to tell you how many times I started to nod off on the bus rides to everyplace else!

Anyway -

MK/Monorail Resorts:
CR - Contempo Cafe (QS) (I haven't been impressed with the food/service/character interaction at CM)
Poly - Kona for breakfast and lunch
GF - Grand Floridian Cafe (mostly for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is okay but service is noticeably slower than at other meals...which is still kind of slow sometimes.)

Epcot Resorts:
BC - Cape May (character breakfast is fairly quiet and the interaction is GREAT, dinner is a yummy seafood buffet)
YC - Yachtsmen Steakhouse (better than LC!)
Boardwalk - Kouzzina (if you like Greek food)

AK:
AKL- Boma (only eaten breakfast here and it was soooo good! I've made the banana bread at home many times since)
The Mara (one of the BEST QS on property. I'm not much into most of the hotel QS because most of them only have one unique item, but the Mara has an awesome stew and the falafel pita with couscous was a favorite, too)

Are you looking for restaurants for lunch or dinner? I totally understand trying resort dining for dinner, but generally wouldn't recommend this for lunch, since it cuts so heavily into your park touring. Unless of course you're planning on leaving the parks for afternoon breaks.

The reason I ask is that many of the best places don't serve lunch, but of course they are all open for dinner.

I'll give you a list of some of my favourites for dinner:
CR: Cali Grille, the Wave
Poly: Kona Cafe, Ohana's
GF: Citrico's
WL: WCC
AKL: all of them!: Sanaa, Boma, Jiko
BC: Cape May.

Magic Kingdom & Epcot:

Citraco: GF
Kona: Poly

MGM & Epcot:

Flying Fish: Boardwalk

Animal Kingdom: Boma or Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge

This really depends on the restaurant you pick and the park you are leaving. For instance, YC/BC and the Boardwalk are not that far from Epcot. We've eaten at all three for dinner and actually made better time than when we ate inside the park for dinner.

The Monorail resorts are very close to the MK. I haven't felt that my day was severely impacted by leaving to eat at Comtempo or Kona for lunch - in fact, its much more relaxing experience than dealing with Pecos Bill or Cosmic Rays during the lunch rush.

Now, leaving AK? That's likely a time-waster, but I think its a half day park for a lot of people, anyway.

If the restaurant is close by, I don't think its a huge time waster and the benefits of getting out of the sun and being able to sit down might outweigh the negatives for a lot of people. I definitely wouldn't recommend leaving the MK to have lunch at AKL, obviously, but sometimes a short monorail trip and a chance to sit down in AC is all you need to refresh yourself for the rest of the day.

Thanks all, I think I'm gonna try the monorail resorts near MK and the boardwalk on my epcot days :)

MK Area - Kona, the Wave, & GF Cafe
Epcot / Studios Area - Kouzzina
AK Area - Boma & Sanaa

Are you interested in signature dining at all? All the signature restaurants are good, and easy to get to areas;

MK Area - Artist Point, Citricos, Narcoossees, & California Grill
Epcot/Studios Area - Yachtsman Steakhouse & Flying Fish
AK Area - Jiko

I agree with many...
Poly - 'Ohana
BC - Cape May
AKL - Boma

All really good food and easy to get too! The boardwalk is also a lot of fun, but we've never dined there.
Good luck!

Some of our fav dinner places:
MK area: GF Cafe, 1900 Park Fare, Narcoossees, The Wave, Kona, "Ohana

Epcot: So many restaurants in WS! We haven't eatten at the resorts around Epcot, but this Aug have ADRs at Cape May & Captains Grille. So something new for us!

DHS- we go to Epcot WS

AK: Yak & Yeti, Boma, going to try Saana in Aug.
