Dinning free VS AP rate w DDE

Ok am I missing something or does the AP rate seem like a better deal.
AP for a Mod $89 a night 9/1-9/6 and we have DDE(rm $445, meals $400 (100 a day-20%dde)is still $845.

VS

Dining Free in Moderate for same dates, only getting passes for 1 day $979.

Am I missing something? Do I not get ME from airport because I am not booking a package?

The only other thing I was considering is doing tickets for 10 days preimum no expiration and staying the 9/1-9/6. Using the tickets for other trips, but that would be $2272. (but then I worry I might be missing out on future promotions) .

Could someone post who's good with the price comparision and tell me the best item to choose.

It really depends on the # of people in your group. If there are only two of you and you can truly eat on 100.00 a day at a Table Service Restaurant with desert, at a Counter Service with desert, and have a snack for that amount then you are probably better off with the DDE. Look at Allearsnet.com at the menus and prices and do a real comparison. Thats the way to really tell which is better for you

We are 2 A, and 2c (7yrs), and we generally split meals...I know the Dinning plan has 1 sit down, 1 counter service and one snack. But really how much can one person eat ?

I'm interested in this too. I think the AP rate and DDE looks pretty good to me. I generally am not a big eater, and I think one sit down meal a day is plenty for me.

Do you already have APs? If so, then your numbers are mostly correct -- I think you're missing the room tax on the AP rate version, though.

We already have APs and I ran the numbers in case the same Free Dining Package comes out for our visit in December. For us, it would cost right about the same (+/- $100) to get AP room rate and use DDE as to get the Free Dining Package with 1 day tix. Now, my Mom and Stepdad are meeting us and don't have tix yet -- for them, it would save them about $250 for a weeklong visit to get the package. Plus, if they got the package and we didn't, we could help them eat their extra appetizers and desserts (and pay for some of their breakfasts in exchange), so too much food wouldn't be a big problem.

I just called to get prices - but I am doing a 10 day trip - staying at a value resort ...

For 1 Adult; 10 day base ticket; 10 day value hotel and free dining : $1081.43
For 2 Adult; 10 day base ticket; 10 day value hotel and free dining : $1304.14

For 1 Adult; 1 day base ticket; 10 day value hotel and free dining : $924.70
For 2 Adult; 1 day base ticket; 10 day value hotel and free dining : $988.34

For 2 Adult; 10 day base ticket; 10 day mod hotel and free dining : $1939.54

Makes having an Annual Pass a thing of the past ... cause it would be 658 for the hotel - plus whatever food money (and I have a DDE) - so it would be like $1000.

Well for most the comparison would have to include the price paid for the AP/s and DDE card, but if you already paid for those you may as well use the benifits. Also note that if you do the 1 day base ticket thing, you maybe able to use those towards(credit) AP renewel. So the money is not lost if you plan on renewing your passes.

But I wonder if we can apply it to a New AP the same day we check in?

We were 6 one way a half dozen the other. We chose to do the package for the free dining and buy a 1 day ticket each instead of taking the ap discount. I don't doubt we "could" do it cheaper with our ap and I was planning on buying the DDE (I may still for breakfasts since we have another trip in December too) so with that I'm sure we could have ate cheaper and come out ahead with just the ap discount. However the Dining package allows us to try places we wouldn't before because the were just too expensive for our tastes. So this way we can try some new places AND have everything paid in advance (almost anyway).
