Blue Bayou!

Yes..where is the Blue Bayou????

Don't forget Whitewater Snacks at GC..we'll be there also..May 14-17
:)

Well, not sure of your tastes, but these are the changes I would make...

Forget Pizza Oww Mow and have a Giant Corn Dog instead, they are yummy!

Don't do Storyteller's twice, substitute Whitewater snacks in there. We especially love their breakfast burrito. Sandwiches are good and a bargain (for Disney).

Cafe Orleans and Jazz Kitchen are two favorites, but I wouldn't do them in the same day. To me they are similar type dining venues and I would do them on separate days.

The PCH Grill for breakfast is a charcater meal (Lilo & Stitch). It is our favorite of the CB's, but only when staying at PP. Why walk all the way over there? Maybe try Minnie & Friends in the park?

I am not a Blue Bayou fan, so I wouldn't suggest it, but many others love the place.

Last piece of advice, be sure and try a Dole Whip at The Tiki Bird Show and an indulgent treat (think Tigger Tail) at Pooh's Corner between Splash & The Pooh ride.

Have a wonderful trip:)

My family & I plan our vacations to Disney around the food practically! Don't forget to try a Dole Whip, Chimichanga, or stuffed pretzle too! ;)

Just tried Hooks pointe and the jazz kitchen for the first time last trip and they were both great! The scallops at hooks point were delicous. With an appetizer my mom and I split and were stuffed! The bread pudding at the jazz kitchen was great too!

The Storyteller is one of my favorites! The corn choweder is great but the breakfast buffet is awesome too!

The Pilot's Grill is good too! I'm jealous you get to go before me! Now all I can think about is the food.

By your second day I would be stuffed to the gills by the end of lunch. So many "table service" places! So much food. :scared:

But if they are staying at the GCH, it's a hop skip and jump out the main entrance and across the street!

I can't recommend pizza oom mow mow to anyone. Bleah. You've been warned. :goodvibes

I have no other advice, sorry! :)

Yikes! Why?

IMHO, the Disney magic does not extend to the food. As far as theming and characters, there are some great places for a truly unique experience, but as for culinary magic, I think not. :wizard:

I agree with the last two posts, Too much food-table service. I think it takes too much time away from the park to eat that many sit down meals and most are mediocre at best lol. But I guess some dont mind that especially if the parks are open late.

My favorite place to go is at the end of mail street, the Plaza Inn. Its a counter service. We get the fried chicken dinner and its enough for two of us to share with still not finishing it all.

Where are these things???? I know the dole whip is at the tiki room place

Your list looks a lot like mine... with all the sit down places, as I have a just turned 4 year old who doesn't eat well unless sitting at a table with some chicken and broccolli in front of her... I'd stick Blue Bayou in for lunch instead of the pizza place... or if you really want pizza go out to Naples in DTD.

Remember there are two, or so I hear, "ordering" sides to the dole whip stand. One inside the Tiki Room waiting area, and one outside on the path. Have fun with the dole whips, I personally hate 'em.

Have you looked at the menus online? dlresortinfo dot com is a good one, and also allears.net.

I'm not sure at all where to get chimichangas (I believe they have meat in them, and we are veggie), but I remember writing down stuffed pretzels a few times from various stands. Maybe even Bengal BBQ?

is this better?

I haven't had RdZ but Hungry Bear was TERRIBLE! I waited about 15 minutes for it to open so I would get a hot, fresh burger. I guess they cook a bunch of those things well in advance because it was DRY, DRY, DRY and not hot. :sad2:

I think that you are going to spend a lot of time eating. I think you might be able to do less sit down and maybe add some counter service. Disney's portions are big as well.

I wasn't thrilled with Hungry Bear either... spent 35 minutes in line at 6 pm on a Friday for cold, blah hamburgers... not going back there!

I second that, but keep the Jazz Kitchen as your dinner for the second day because it'll be a nice, quiet way to wind down your first full day in the parks (which can be stimulation overload, especially when you've just flown in the day before). For your lunch on the day you go, I suggest getting something from a take away counter (most will give you a regular take out container if you ask) and bringing it with you to the airport. So long as it doesn't contain liquids, you can just take it past security and eat while waiting for your plane to start loading.

I love that airport idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

On the mornings of your character breakfasts- Storytellers/ Goofy's, it looks like you also have big dinners planned. I would stick with more of a snack for "lunch". That would be a good time for a pretzel, churro, chimi etc.. Reason? If you choose buffet at Storytellers, then you have two big breakfasts. Then you have two big dinners with Hooks Pint and Brennans. Also, Instead of Carnation Cafe, Blue Bayou, Plaza, why not Plaza around 10:30 and Blue Bayou around 4:00 with a Dole Whip around 1:00 when it's hot and a churro at Fireworks?
We usually try to do a lite breakfast like a muffin walking through DTD and waiting in line for rope drop. Then and early lunch and early dinner. We figure we are there to enjoy the park and want to spend as much time as we can IN the park, That would cut down on one sit down a day
