We have never stayed at he Dolphin before and will be there for a conference Aug 7-10 could you give me a couple of ideas of places to eat close? Me and DS 13 :wave2:

HI - FIRST oops caps on - anyway first welcome - I live in Pekin! From the Dolphin you can walk anywhere around the Boardwalk and to the Yacht and Beach Club restaurants. Easy walk and lots of choices. We love the ESPN Club (and great for a teen boy). Beaches and Cream is close too and a good choice for that age. There are also several sit down fancier spots in that area.

If you have theme park tickets from the Dolphin you are within walking distance (or a boat ride away) from Epcot so anything there is also at your disposal.

You are also a longer walk (but not bad) or a boat ride away from MGM and the restaurants within the park.

And then of course just by virtue of being on property you can take the bus to Downtown Disney for dinner, any of the other theme parks - or make a transfer from a theme park and get to any resort for food.

Have fun planning,

Liz

The Swan and Dolphin both have restaurants that sound really good, although I haven't tried them. There is also the Boardwalk with Spoodles, Big River Grille, Flying Fish Cafe, all three are really good. The Beach Club has Beaches and Cream which is good for a quick burger, there's the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club for a good steak and then there's Epcot's back door. So, you have a lot to choose from.

Traveliz-thats cool you really are close to us. Thank you for the ideas.
tjmouse- Spoodles,Big River Grille, Flying Fish Cafe- these are all where?
After the conference we are going to ASSp for 4 days and I won't be lost anymore. It is just the first 4 days at the Dolphin that I know NOTHING about.

If you look here at the MENUS, you can pick anything from the following places for walking:

DOLPHIN
Cabana Bar and Grill
Fresh
Dolphin Fountain
Shula's Steak House
Todd English's bluezoo
Tubbi's Buffeteria

SWAN
Splash Grill & Deli
Garden Grove Cafe
Gulliver's at the Garden Grove
Kimonos Sushi Bar
Palio

BOARDWALK
Big River Grille & Brewing Works
Boardwalk Bakery (4/05)
Boardwalk Joe's
Boardwalk to Go
ESPN Club
Flying Fish
Seashore Sweets
Spoodles
Spoodles Pizza Window

BEACH CLUB
Beach Club Marketplace
Beaches and Cream
Cape May Cafe
Martha's Vineyard Lounge
Riptide Lounge Breakfast

YACHT CLUB
Crew's Cup Lounge
Yacht Club Galley
Yachtsman Steakhouse

EPCOT CENTER (Must have a park ticket)
TONS of restaurants

You could also take a short boat ride or 1.25 mile walk over the MGM Studios (also need a park ticket)

Looks like you've gotten great advice from everyone! Staying at the Dolphin isn't unlike staying at a WDW resort....there are buses that will take you to Downtown Disney, theme parks, etc. :) We love the pizza window at Spoodles, Beaches & Cream, ESPN Club, and the pizza from Tubbi's at the Dolphin is great (and cheap!) We also love the burgers and onion rings from the Dolphin soda fountain. YUM.

enjoy the heavenly beds!!

may i reccomend you and your son try to eat the kitchen sink at the beach clubs beaches and cream! haha it would be a good bonding activity...if you like ice cream!

Beaches 'n Cream is often crowded - you may have to wait to get in.

We like the Dolphin Fountain even more than B & C. Good burgers, fries, shakes and ice cream. Also some good sandwiches if you're tired of burgers. Never crowded and good service. Bet your 13 DS will like it. If you are a DVC member, you can get 20% off, too.

Best wishes-

At the Dolphin you have so many dining options..you are definately in luck. All within easy walking distance.

I will guess your son will chose Tubbi's right there at the Dolphin. Other than that, if you are looking for something else, there is Spoodles on the boardwalk, Big River, Flying Fish. You can also easily pop into any of the EPCOT restaurants.

I was going to post the very same thing! We've been to both and will return to the Dolphin Fountain this year! My DS, who's also 13, really enjoyed Tubbi's too.

We'll be at the Swan from Aug 6-13 so maybe we'll pass each other! :wave2:

There are so many restaurants within walking distance and many many more that are a short boat ride away (EPCOT). We have not eaten at all of them but from the ones we have eaten at we would recommend Cape May at BC.
