I'm looking for a restaurant for my birthday dinner. I'll be with my family, which is my husband and two teens. My first thought was Blue Bayou, but we did not have a good experience last time we ate there, and I would like to try something different. My preferences would be great food, and a place where we are not rushed through our meal. We would like to be able to wear the clothes we are wearing to the parks, so I'm not sure if Napa Rose would be an option. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Happy Birthday! I just had my 40th Sunday and my kids (unfortunately DH is not able to come so we had a small celebration at home on Sunday) and I will be in the parks Friday to Celebrate!

We aren’t doing a sit-down special meal for it this time but if I were I would look at doing Carthay Circle or Steakhouse 55.

Thanks, and happy birthday to you, too!

Carthay Circle restaurant. Went there for my friend’s birthday last month and had a great time. Great food and service. You spend over an hour there so you aren’t rushed

When are your park dates? You could do a dining package for F! -- it doesn't have to be BB -- all the reserved areas have good to great viewing. Or a dining package or the Dessert Party for WOC -- the dining packages would give you a full meal (either lunch or dinner -- look over the menus on the DLR website to see if CCR or WCT would be a better fit). Or, you could time dinner at Catal or the Jazz Kitchen with the fireworks (check the entertainment schedule for the time) -- be upstairs and on the balcony (or inside Catal by the large windows). You can request a fireworks view, but it won't be guaranteed. Dinner and then dessert with a view of the fireworks could be very celebratory. If you do a TS meal in the parks or one of the hotels, you should be able to get a custom birthday cake delivered to your table -- call Disney Dining to ask about this. The custom cakes are very cute!

I would have no hesitation to wear park attire to any restaurant in Disney. For dinner, it is either Carthay or Napa Rose. I love birthdays at DL!

I had my 40th birthday lunch at carthay circle and it was wonderful. There were 10 of us of all ages and we never felt rushed. The food was delicious. My husband surprised me with a little mermaid cake and the waitress gave me my birthday button and all of us reserved seating to world of color! I highly recommend it.

Thanks everyone! I decided on Carthay Circle.
You might want to request the Hyperion or Buena Vista rooms (secluded booths), checking in early will help (and be willing to wait a little extra time).
The menu changes seasonally, but Firecracker Duck Wings (rather spicy) and biscuits (enjoy while hot) are standard items (I always order)
