I currently have reservations for Disney's Spirit of Aloha Show, but I see a few more Dinner shows - which is the best?

Mickey's Backyard BBQ

I have read mixed reviews about the Spirit of Aloha Show...is it woth attending?

Advice please - I still have time to change the reservations.

HDDR is fabulous- Cant wait to see it again! Especially great with kids mine were 7 and 1 last time. Didnt stop laughing from the time the show started until walking out. Bring your video camera.

We have attended HDDR several times and the Luau once. I LOVE both, but there is something so classic about the HDDR. As far as food, the best things at the HDDR is the salad and the chicken. The ribs have always been inedible IMO. If they would only take the time to slow cook them they might be good. The strawberry shortcake is poundcake (if I recall correctly) with gelatinous strawberry goo and cool whip-like stuff. But guess what...I love it anyway!

The Luau food was a bit more heathy. Chicken and rice and veggies. All was good, except the rice was very salty (maybe just a bad night). The show was amazing especially the fire dancers.

NOW, on Mickey's BBQ. We scheduled this once, and I almost booked it for our upcoming trip, but I keep chickening out. My kids are very whiney about being "sweating hot" and I can't help but feel the BBQ is chaotic and hot. Maybe someone can convince me otherwise, but I think we will continue to pass on this one.

We went to HDD this trip and just loved it! Bring tissues as you may find you laugh so hard that you cry!

We loved the ribs and ate two buckets of them! I will admit after two glasses of wine that I do not remember eating the shortcake but DH has been raving about it!

I've never done the backyard BBQ but I have done the SoA and HDDR. None of us cared for SoA at all. We go to HDDR every trip (the first time is always the best). It's getting a little old now but we keep taking new people every trip and we always want them to experience it! The show never changes. I couldn't imagine doing the same show for over 10 years (it's been around longer than that but the first time we saw it was in '93) over and over again. Anyways...back on topic . I would pick HDDR and our favorite time to go is the 9:30 show. Hardly anyone there and it felt like the show was funnier (or I was just drunker ).

It appears that I should go with HDDR. I will change our reservations in the morning.
