Dinner shows w/ Dining plan

I know that you need two TS credits for a dinner show - but how does it work when you do the ADR for a show? Do you have to give them a credit card to hold it and do they charge anything to it? If so, how does that work if you are using your dining plan credits for the dinner show (hoop di do, or the luau?)

When you give them your credit card, there are no charges made to it (someone mentioned $1 charge, but I don't know). I think they run an authorization on it in case you don't show up! When you arrive at the show and dinner, tell them you are on the dining plan and they will take off 2 TS credits.

thanks... I read on Allears.net that they require payment in full at time of booking (w/ a 48 hour cancellation policy). My concern would be charging the show for 4 of us and then not having them credit my card once we arrive...

They will only do a hold on your credit card for the tickets. When you check into your resort, you will be given your tickets by the conciere. At that point 2 credits per person will be removed from your dining plan. If by chance you do not make it to the show, you are not charged anything, but you will not get those credits back.

I had related but opposite question. We made reservations at Hoop Dee Doo and, consistent with what I have read, they charged us the full amount on our credit card. I just double checked my cc statement and the full amout was indeed charged. When we booked the res the woman told us our card would be charged in full upfront for the res, but that we could cancel it and get our money back up to 48 hours in advance. We told the lady that we would be using our disney dining credits, and she said that would be fine. My question has anyone gone through this, and do they actually credit back my cc when I go to the show?
