Which should I choose?
First trip, never been to any of the restaurants. The fact that 1900PF is a Character Meal isn't really an important consideration - we have other Character Meals planned. This is a late supper meal (6:30-7ish).

I vote for 1900PF.....if you can get it.

It is one of the most popular dinners at WDW and goes fast.

The food is comparable at both, but Anastasia and Drizella make the evening at 1900PF. :rotfl:

We have done both our last 2 trips. You can't go wrong with either, but if I had to choose just one.......

We have never been to the clambake but we did go to 1900 Park Fare on our trip in November. It was by far the best food of the entire trip. We would go back again just to eat there even if there was no characters.

I haven't been to 1900 PF, but in our last trip we went to the Clambake and I love it  ....even tough I didn't eat hahaha :rotfl:
The thing is I wasn't feeling really good, I was still stuffed from breakfast at Crystal Palace, and a little nauseous so I passed on the food, and I'm still kicking myself for that :headache:
The food looked delicious, even though I don't like fish, or anything that comes from the sea, there were plenty of choices. My hubby and picky son were very happy, and we had a GREAT server that went beyond my expectations trying to make me feel better, he didn't even want to "charge" us for my credit!!! (we were on the DDP) but it was our last day, so it didn't matter. I would go back in a heartbeat :goodvibes

OMG! Cape May Clam Bake hands down!!! We've eaten at both and we are seafood lovers so for us, this is an easy choice. They have crab legs on it now too, so between the shrimp, clams and crab legs my whole family gets what they want. 1900 Park Faire has all the standard buffet foods that you'll find at most of the character meals. We had such a good meal the last trip that we made sure to include it in Aug. this year.

We ate at Park Fare last May and it was the worst food of our trip! The only reason to go there is the characters so if they don't matter go elsewhere!

Thanks for the input everyone! We're going in May but I haven't had much of a problem getting decent times for ADRs so far, so that's good... I actually have both of these reserved right now, just need to decide which to cancel. Is that frowned upon? :rolleyes1

In 2008, we did 1900PF, the characters were great, but the food was not. We are booked this year and I was debating whether to include 1900PF, but from what I have read the menu has not changed. MY DW, feels even though the character experience is great, its a waist of a meal plan, because we left in 08 not happy with the food and hungry.

1900 park fare - yummy beef and potatoes. Fun Characters
Cape May Clambake- good seafood, loved that they got crablegs back, yummy salad options and very good desserts.

We usually do both but my DS is burnt out on the stepsisters both kids Love ithe clambake because you can color on the paperlined tables, so we will probably go here again this year.

We have been to CMC 6 times and the food is always excellent...we went to 1900 PF dinner once and it was horrible, the food was gross and the noise level was too loud plus we had to wait an hour past our reservation time because (as the hostess said) the diners that were already seated and done with their meals wanted to stay in the warm restaurant (it was 25 degrees outside) and see Cinderella again.
