Dinner show on arrival day?

DH and I are flying in on 2/23. We were originally doing the Luau on our last night, but since we're flying in on Saturday- we could technically do it, but I worry about what happens if our flight is delayed or cancelled. We have no other plans for our arrival day- either lounging at the resort, or going to DisneyQuest for the afternoon...


Flight info: We are flying out of Chicago, with a connection in Nashville. We have the first flight of the day in Chicago, and a mid-morning connection (10:30 AM) out of Nashville. The scheduled layover/connection time is 80 minutes. Scheduled arrival at MCO is 1:15 PM.


WWYD if you were in my shoes- we would be doing the 8PM show

I would probably book it for later in the trip so that you don't have to worry about it. You can always book a restaurant that doesn't require any credit card hold for the first night so then it won't matter if you show up or not.

Idk, worrying about it might stress me out. With the chance of a winter weather delay out of Chicago I might see if another night was a better fit.

I wouldn't do it on my arrival night because I would be worried. Even though you're scheduled to arrive in the early afternoon and it should be okay, it's possible something could cause a delay or cancellation. Since the penalty for the luau is the full payment, that's a lot of money to lose.
