My first Disney Cruise is coming up on Disney Wonder 8/31/03. I am taking my 4 year old granddaughter and we are booked for late seating. It appears there are no early seatings available. How hard will it be to change once we board and what should we do to try and secure the earlier seating?

I am afraid if we are "stuck" with the late seating, we will have to forego to dining rooms and stick to other options...but I really was looking forward to the different dining rooms on the ship.

Help please.

I've never had a problem getting main seating after being on a waiting list and I've been on 3 Disney Cruises. On my last cruise in May, we were put into late seating and were moved to main seating within a week and we booked that cruise which ended up being sold out about 6 weeks before we cruised. There were 5 of us at a table for 10 and the family of 5 seated with us demanded a table for 5 before our first meal even started. They were moved to another restaurant and the next night, we had a wonderful family of 5 seated with us. They were at late seating the first night and their 4 year old fell asleep. They asked to be moved to main seating and were seated with us for the rest of the week. As I mentioned, the ship was full, so it is possible to be moved.
If you can't be moved, you can let your granddaughter have her meals with the Oceaneer's Club. She'll probably enjoy eating with the other kids and you can eat at the late seating while she enjoys the kids program.

If you booked directly with DCL give their reservation number a call periodically to see if something has opened up.

Sometimes it will be resolved before hand and at least make sure they (or your TA if you used one) have made a note on the reservation that you requested main seating.

Otherwise, make that one of your boarding priorities. When you check in at the port you'll receive information on where all the reservation spots and times are. Generally arriving at the spot a bit ahead is a good idea.

Don't be too upset if you don't get switched......We had early on our Feb 2000 cruise and requested and recieved the early on our 2002 Eastern. That was the ill fated cancelled one. We switched to the Dec 1 Wonder only a couple of days prior to sailing (once we were notified of the cancellation). To our displeasure all that was left was late seating. We LOVED it. We had a lot more time on excursions and just relaxing in the ship. I have DD's 13 and 11.
