We are going to be eating at Akershus for the first time in Sept. I was wondering if I could see some dinner food pictures. I have seen some, but they are hard to find without going through a lot of pages.

I am a picky eater and thought I was going to get pasta, but in one of the pictures it looked like it had brown sauce :confused3. If you are a picky eater, what did you get when you ate there? Thanks. :)

They had a roast chicken with vegetable risotto on the menu both times I've been there. (I haven't looked at the menu there since last November, so I'm not sure if it's still a selection on their current menu.) I really liked the chicken and the risotto was so good our server brought me a second portion on our last visit.

There is also a cold buffet of salads, meat, cheese, and the like there. It's a good way to supplement your meal if you are a little iffy on the entree choices.

I would also say that if you are a picky eater (which I am) I would err on the side of getting something slightly less adventurous and a little more of a sure bet. I am all for taking chances and trying new things, but if you're picky, hungry, and in a restaurant based on a cuisine that's unfamiliar to you, you'll probably get a meal better suited to you if you choose something basic that sounds good to you. You may also consider asking for sauces to be served on the side, so you can still have a salvageable portion of your meal in the event the sauce on your entree isn't to your liking.

You will also get an opportunity to sample some slightly unfamiliar items at Akershus on the dessert plate, which I thought was a nice compromise between doing the safe thing with my entree and getting to be a little more adventurous with the three selections on the dessert plate they will bring to your table at the end of your meal.

Honestly, I'm pretty picky and I voluntarily went back to Akershus a second time. I wouldn't really hesitate to go again on a future trip, either. (The vegetable risotto really was quite good, and I'm not always good about eating my vegetables, so I think I'd be a tough critic of it.)

Another picky eater here. We had dinner at Akershus last September and it was a good meal. There was enough on the cold buffet-salad, cheese and shrimp. I had the salmon entree and really enjoyed it. My daughter and son in law had the beef tips and said they were good.

I too was leery about the menu and was pleasantly surprised.

The picture package with Belle was nice and the princess interaction was top-notch. We had: Ariel, Snow White, Aurora and Jasmine.

These are great suggestions, let's keep them coming. I like beef tips and could get the sauce on the side. I figured I could always fill up on cheese and bread lol.

can't wait to hear more about this experience. we are going there for dinner on Thanksgiving day!

I too am picky, wish I wasn't but I am. I HATED the pasta there, got it t be "safe". But, I did very much enjoy the buffet so that was fine. If you like salmon, which I don't, my DH thought his meal there was the best all week and he got the salmon, though it was a small portion. I always said that if we went back there I'd order the salmon and let him have mine and I'd fill up on the buffet, but when we went there was no roast chicken or beef tips, those would have been good!

There are photos in my September dining review. We both had the salmon and it was outstanding.

A lot of people seem to get the salmon. Too bad I do not like it. I do not eat shrim either. Looks like the Braised Beef Tip are listed as of 5/10. Maybe I can get the kids grilled chicken if I do not see anything else. Has anyone ever done that?

I definetly want to try this place on our next trip. Undecided as to breakfast or dinner though....
This is a 1TS credit, right?

My family did not like the traditional kjottkake...or how every you spell it. It's a big meatball and they all said it had a "weird spice". I always get the salmon and love it.

I do wonder though...how many picture poses do you get? I have a table of 8so do we all have to cram in the picture together?

I took my 6 and 4 yr old daughters here. The character expierence was worth it, but the meal left a lot to be desired. Even the childrens menu was lacking. The cold meats/salad bar was pretty good though.

I am picky, but that is usually in relation to my reflux, but my DH is really picky, so we picked breakfast. The breakfast is wonderful and seems to have something for everyone, especially the cheesy hashbrowns they bring to the table. I only looked at the dinner menu once and knew that wouldn't work for DH.

We have booked for Christmas Eve Breakfast there.

Yes, it is only 1 TS credit.

I thought about breakfast, but DH is not really a breakfast eater and I already talked him into 2 (Crystal Palace before MK opens and Donald's Safari). He is a little picky, but is excited to try something new and eats a lot more things than I do. DD5 is not really picky, maybe we will switch meals lol. DS7 is picky like me. At least the picture with Belle is included! :)

I picked breakfast because I knew DH is way too picky to eat anything off the dinner menu. I am not as picky and like to try new things, but DH is all about familiar foods. So we are doing breakfast, which we cant go wrong since DH loves his eggs and im sure he will like the cheesy potatoes everyone talks about.

I am not a breakfast eater either, but I love breakfast at WDW and when we book a TS restaurant, breakfast is usually what I book. I think out of our 6 ressies in Dec, we have 4 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner.

My husband is so picky, he would live off of pizza, burgers, and philly cheesesteak if I'd let him. I prefer to try some new things and I realy can't deal with too many pizzas and burgers :rotfl:
