Hi
Somewhat new to the board, kind of a lurker....
I am going to Disney with 8 adults, 4 kids under the age of 5 March 12-16. A crowded time, but the only time my military hubby could get off. :(
With little ones that have to be back in the room asleep by 8pm we were looking for ressies between 5-5:30.
We have a group of 12 and with the online ressie system I was able to get Saturday night at Paradiso 37 at 5 pm (we wanted to hang in the DD area Saturday afternoon),
Sunday night at Kona Cafe at 5:10
Monday night at Kouzzina at 5:05 (thought we would hang out at the Boardwalk area on Monday night).

Thoughts???? Thanks.

From what I've read, and my info may be outdated, hopefully someone can correct me if so, but I think most of the Boardwalk entertainment is only Thursday to Saturday nights.

As far as whether you will like the restaurants you have chosen, will be a matter of personal taste and the server you have. But what I CAN tell you is that we just did all three of these restaurants last week with large parties (anywhere between 10 and 21 people in our parties) and they all did a great job at managing our large group. Particularly Kouzzina.
I think you will be fine with those plans!
Good luck!

thanks. good to know. My Greek parents were randomly at Kouzinnas the night it opened 2 years ago...so I thought it would be fun to go back.

Good to know that the Boardwalk entertainment only being Thur-Sat..I would have thought every day of the week during March high season. Thanks.

My only thought is if you are relying on Disney transportation, and you have a party of 12.... a 5 PM reservation could run late, say 5:30 to seat - it could easily be 7:30 or later by the time you got your bill & paid, so you run the risk of not being back to your room till after 8 PM.

I.e. Kouzzina & Kona are not in parks - so you would have to transport back to a park to get a bus back to your hotel. This can add a half hour or more to your time...

I think you did good! I haven't eaten at Paradiso 37 but I have had dinner at both Kouzzina and Kona and both have EXCELLENT food. Both the adults and kids in our party really enjoyed these restaurants. When we went to Kouzzina we spent the morning at DHS and took the boat over. After dinner, we continued on to EPCOT. It was a very nice day!

Have fun:goodvibes

Kona was just ok for me. The main issue I had was gritty scallops :crazy2:, but I would return one day in hopes of sand-less food. Flavors were good.

Kouzzina was not a great experience for me. Everything was SEVERELY over-salted that night, which is really saying something because I love salt. But again, I am not opposed to returning one day.

Did you consider trying ADR's for two parties of six? If you guys wouldn't mind sitting at separate tables you might open up your eating options more.

I'm just going by what I've heard on here. I think the pubs etc are 7 days a week, but the busker like entertainment is only weekends. There are also some times on Steve Soares website http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/

Thanks......
what is ADR's???
Also, I don't bother w Disney transportation unless it is a fairly direct trip. So, we will just hop in the car and drive straight to the Poly, DD, and Boardwalk and park. I just can't deal with the connections/wait times, etc when I really need to be somewhere on time. :)

All of our ressies said "Your party may be seperated"...which would stink. Is there an effort made to at least have a couple of adjoining tables or tables near each other?

ADR's is Advance Dining Reservations.... dining reservations.
Even the reservations for 2 people have that note on the bottom, I'm pretty sure they try and seat you together.

We often travel in a large party and my guess would be that you will usually be seated together considering your early ADR. As the dinner crowd picks up, that is more difficult for the restaurant to do...
