Please give me some ideas. I've done the Fantasmic Package at H&V and Mama Melrose's and, quite frankly, am not a fan of either. Brown Derby would be nice, but don't want to blow the 2 TS credits per person. I need a break from Primetime and SciFi this trip. What are the closest resort restaurants (I will have free dining)? I'll have a rental car so transportation won't be an issue. Any ideas?

At the Beach Club, there's Cape May Cafe Buffet dinner.

There's the Yatchsman Steakhouse at the Yatch Club.

There's Spoodles at the Boardwalk.

There's Flying Fish at the Boardwalk.

There's ESPN at the Boardwalk.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Don't forget the Swan and Dolphin restaurants.

Shula's Steakhouse, Palio, Bluezoo, and there's a sushi restaurant too in one of them. I may be forgetting one or two.

Biggest issue to me seems like it would be time. If it's a 9:00 fantasmic, you should be ok, but if it's an 8:00, you're going to need to hustle or get a very early reservation to eat at a place like Flying Fish or Palio and make it in time to get a decent seat at Fantasmic.

Thanks for the ideas. Are the Swan & Dolphin restaurants included in the dining plan?

The Clam Bake at the Beach Club has a great variety so even non-seafood lovers will find plenty to eat. They start serving at 5:30pm so this will give you plenty of time for even an 8:00pm Fantasmic. You can walk or boat over to the Epcot resort area from the Disney Studios. Takes about 20 minutes or so either way.
