We're going to be in Epcot this April and I'm just trying to see if my plan is doable or not. Illuminations is at 9pm the day we want to visit and so I'm wondering if we find a place to watch it near the International Gateway if we'd be able to make a 9:30pm reservation at Yachtsman after the show. Has anyone done this? Is the time crunch pushing it a bit too far?

It would be tight but doable, I think. The Yacht Club isn't a bad walk from the IG entrance, about 8-10 minutes at a moderate pace (about a third of a mile), and Illuminations is 12 minutes long. So if you watch from somewhere at or near the bridge between France and the UK, and walk over at a decent clip as soon as the show ends, you'd get there just in time.

Yes, you'll be fine. As Colleen27 noted, the walk will be quicker if you watch Illuminations somewhere in the Canada, UK, France, Morocco area. I probably wouldn't go any further than that!

I'd recommend watching from the bridge between UK and France. That way you can quickly exit through the IG and fast walk to the restaurant.

I agree, you should be fine. Make sue you leave right after the show & walk, don't take the boat there tho. The boat looks convenient, but will go to the Boardwalk first & will take longer.

Also, don't walk all the way to the YC lobby. The Yachtsman's is actually before the YC lobby so no point in going to the lobby & doubling back. Walk thru the BC lobby & take the walkway along the building. Go in the door just past the spa & health club. The Yachtsman's Steakhouse is right there.
